Once this gets fixed what will happen if the A.I. owes you tribute but runs out of money? Does the tribute still get paid no matter how in the red they are? ~SDC~
Ancient Warrior
The A.I that reaches it first should be removed from the game leaving all their planets ripe for colonization. This would create a late game colonization race. Once you research it, then game over. If you weren't the first to research it then the game could lower your score for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th accordingly. But each A.I. that researches that tech should disappear from the game. You could have a cutscene that says x achieved final frontier or what ever. If other races research the tech bef
Why do some UP events that say they are making a permanent decission still pop up later in the game? I had a permanent decission to fix the minimum number of parsecs a constructor could travel. We voted and it was set to 7 parsecs. It was supposed to be permanent. Down the road this same resolution came up again. Why? Bug? ~SDC~
What's with the overall rating for each race on the stats screen. Everygame I've played I've had several races with the same rank. How can 2 or more races be in the same overall rank? It seems odd that they would tie. Is this a bug? Anyone else notice this? ~SDC~
My game froze with the new version. On a med. galaxy. The first time it froze was right after I just bouth some ships from the Torians, the second time I hadn't done anything and it just froze during a turn cycle. ~SDC~
The statement of intent seems like window dressing to me. For one, how do I know they are actually doing anything about it, and two, I'm smart enough to figure out who I should spy or destabilize. There should be an option for a "covert action against empire X" in the diplomacy screen. Under this option you could pool your espionage and destabilization spending against a certain empire where since you are working together the amount would be the total sum of both your empires, plus a bo
I don't think so, but you should definitely be able to stack a ship or 2 on top of a trade ship and assign it to escort duty. ~SDC~
Klaus Breuer, No offense, but I don't think your using your imagination good enough. Just because you propose something doesn't mean it will get voted on, plus you could only propose U.P. solutions that are already written into the game. Either way, the best way around the problem that you stated is to have every race propose which resolution they want voted on during the next U.P. session. The computer could then randomly one of those solutions. And the longer an empire goes without ha
Does anybody know what this does? I've had races contact me several times about working together against another race. But it seems to be just a general statement with know real value behind it. ~SDC~
Other races can contact you and request that you help them. Why can't you do the same? You should be able to ask races if they can help with tech/money/ships/starbases, etc. At current, if I ask them for anything without offering something in return it comes across as a demand. An option to demand/request should be available in the diplomacy screen. ~SDC~
Maybe, but if that is most always the case then it's not very random. I would like to see them pick different parties at random with maybe a emphasis on a favorite party. I don't really see the Torians always picking war party, the Drengin I can understand. It would be nice if the picks were more random. ~SDC~
The simplest way is to have the prefix be in line with the name of the race. Since people will name their government different things in the setup screen there is no reason to give the ships a certain prefix other than what goes with that race. The reason is that no matter what you call your government, your will still be Human, or Yor, etc. Humans: HSS--Humans Star Ship Yor: YSS--Yor Star Ship etc, etc. You get the idea. This should be the default as it makes the most
"Why not just look at the details of the race before you open the diplomacy screen?"--Quote by Asharak Because you never know when they will contact you. If they contact me and I can't remember their stats, I have to refuse their demand or except it without knowing cause their is no way to exit out that screen and look at the stats screen untill the diplomacy is done. Plus I don't think the stats screen list some of the options I stated like number of starbases/ships and military/tech/e
In the diplomacy screen there are 3 buttons under the race picture that give you information, here's an idea for a fourth one. If you are spending money on espionage perhaps another button could be available in the diplomacy screen which compares you to the race your talking to. It could list these things: Military rating, tech rating, economic rating of both empires Number of starbases/battleships/frigates/etc of both empires Other things that are availab

"Is the US Army currently not driving through the Iraqi front lines to target the key cities in the centre of Iraq? The idea that a war MUST be fought from the outer borders inward is sloppy tactical thinking."--Quote by Asharak I agree with you, but quote above is not sound. What Bimbo15 is saying is not about fighting wars from the outside in, but territorial control. The U.S. couldn't simply park it's army 5 miles outside of Baghdad before the war began and then say, Okay, now we'll
"A lot of bad things can be justified in the name of good. The Crusades, for instance." Hey, the crusades weren't bad. It was western culture uniting against another culture. ;) But with the Altarians, killing can always be justified if you try, especially if it's against an alien. Therefore it can't be a bug. ~SDC~
When you add trade modules to a starbase does it also increase your trading partners income per turn in that sector, or just yours? Other empires develope their own trade routes with you that are not listed in the trade screen, but you get income from them. If you build a starbase trade module in a sector that one of their tradeships passes to get to your planet, does that increase the amount of bc per turn? Not entirely sure since you didn't initiate the trade. ~SDC~
Is it a depression or recession? I've had two recessions in the same game but never a depression, if it's a depression it could be really bad. Otherwise, one of the recessions lasted several years while the other one lasted only 3 or 4 months. ~SDC~
Enforceable peace treaties sound good. I've made peace with one race and they declare war on me the next turn because i'm still at war with their ally. Also, I took it upon my self to protect a minor race so I gave the Arceans some techs in exchange that they make peace with them and then the very next turn the Arceans declare war on the minor again. This issue needs to be looked at. ~SDC~
Vogar, I've seen that event too, but it's never changed anything for me. I simply ignored it and even several turns down the road, that civ hadn't improved much. What happened in your game? ~SDC~
This is in it's own thread, but I figured it should be here also. Anomalies are great but I think they might be a bit superficial in providing depth for exploration. Instead of simply flying a survey ship over an anomaly and getting instant results it should take time to discover what that anomaly is. Perhaps anywhere from 1 to 24 turns. When your survey ship flies into an anomaly you could get a message with an "estimate"(not an exact number of turns) of how long it will take to unders
If my suggestion was implemented then they could make anomalies that have higher values. Plus anyone can make a bunch of anomalies and submit them to the library. ~SDC~

The Drengins are the only ones i've figured out. There militaristic. The others are still hard to tell at this moment. ~SDC~
