I have noticed that everytime I invade a planet that the people in the transports I use become the new population if I am successful. How come I still have those transports with full crew available if they were used to colonize that planet? Example: I invade with 5 transports each with a billion people. I take 1 billion in casualties and win the invasion so the 4 billion left make up the new population of that planet. Yet my 5 transports have not been depleted of their population, they

I would hope that they curb this morale paradox at least a little in a patch. If you raise morale then population increases faster which in turn lowers morale do to over crowding. I don't really want to have to devote a whole fleet of colony ships or transports just to ferry people off planets. I understand the concept that the devs are trying to implement, but it really should be cut back at least a tiny bit. ~SDC~
Maybe 50% morale isn't bad, but I think the effects of high population on morale could be curved a bit in a patch. ~SDC~
For an iggit like me, that doesn't help any. How do I get it to work? ~SDC~
Perhaps they could make it where humans at least knew where the good stars were in all the sectors adjacent to their home sector. This would be more realistic since by that time period Humans would have done some research about the surrounding stars. ~SDC~
Personaly, Snoop Dog is good, "Cause I never hesitate to put a Drengin on his back" ;p ~SDC~
Thankx, I figured as much but couldn't be sure because I didn't see a percentage amount being listed. This would be good to put in the game.
How are you going to deal with the color schemes? With so many different empires, won't it be hard to have colors where you can tell the difference between them?
I have noticed that when I set my espionage spending it automatically increases the amount of bc spent with the passage of time. Is this a bug? Why set it to a given number when it's going to automatically increase in the future?
I was in debt for years in the early game and didn't have much problem with morale. Eventually I used my trade goods and techs to sell to minor races to get out of debt. About trade goods: Do they only help in diplomacy or do they actually give your empire a bonus?
no, you can only name the star
Thanks, the sensor range is measured in parsecs. How can I tell how far a parsec is? ~SDC~
I don't think any Empire should be selling large percentages of their ships to another. Each A.I. including you should have an option to set how many ships they are willing to sell or trade at any given time. This limit could be determined by an algorithm for the A.I's that determines just how many ships they can get rid of and effectively still be able to defend their empire or support their overall goals. Other factors in this alogorithm should include how aggresive you've been in the past, if
When conducting diplomacy you should be able to click on the items you want from the other civilization and get a description of what it does. Techs would tell you their bonuses, so would trade goods, clicking on systems should tell you where they are located, etc. This way you won't have to go back and forth trying to figure out what everything is worth to you. ~SDC~
When you click on the little I button it gives you info on your ship along with certain orders to select like sector sweep. What does the Sentry and Gaurd button do? I've pressed gaurd and the ship says gaurd underneath it, but what is it gaurding? And isn't Sentry another term for watchpost or gatekeeper? ~SDC~
I own two computers. Is it okay to install my copy of galciv on both of them and submit scores to the metaverse and download patches from both computers or will your system think that one is pirated and flag the serial number? ~SDC~
I set the amount of spending on spying on a major race, then clicked on the minor race tab and my espionage spending was the same as the major race I had just set it to. I checked to see if this amount was recorded in my expenses and it wasn't, so it's just a graphical glitch. To explain better here's an example: I set my espionage spend on the Yor to 10 bc, then I click on the minor race tab and whicever race is already selected will show 10bc spending on them as well, If I adjust this
Money not spent should go back into your treasury. It's a hassle to have to adjust the military and social sliders down to zero when your not building anything in military or social just so you don't spend money for nothing. If your not building anything in those catagories then the money should go into your treasury.
I agree with sebadoh, hope this makes it in sometime in the near future.
No doubt, I need documentation too. Tell me what to do and type. like if i saved my playlist to the PlayLists directory in the galciv directory do I simply type "PlayLists" and then hit the set button or do I type "c:\program files\strategy first\galactic civilizations\playlists" ~SDC~
How come bonus pack 1.0 shows up to download on sdc but not 1.01? I have build 3. ver 1.0 is only about 700KB. ~SDC~
I think you should be able to give away planets in exchange for anything, but if you do I think that you should be required to evacuate all your population with a certain amount of time and put them on other colonies of yours. Say you give away a planet with 1 billion people on it. You then negotiate a reasonable time with the other civ as to allow for evacuation. Then you must use transports or colony ships to evacuate that planet within the alloted time frame. Some colonist will not l
I would love to see a declare war option. I think it would simply add another element to diplomacy. If your government is not Imperial then you should have to ask your senate first. If they say yes, then the formal declaration of war gets delivered to whoever you declared war on. This next option may be more complicated but I think all civilizations should be able to have skirmishes with each other without automatically going to war. After all, things get tense and people in th
whenever I adjust the volume during the intro movie it quits and goes directly to the start game screen. :notsure:
