Yes, Lucky Jack, but WHY should your procedure differ from what I did? " Go to the directory the game is installed, normally C:/Program Files/Drengin.net/galciv and RIGHT CLICK on the GALCIV EXE. Choose PROPERTIES > VERSION. BTW, I did this myself now for the first time and it shows: Version 1.0.0.1. (Bought Drengin, and was just in time to DL the beta, but now it puzzles me why it showes 1.0.0.1?). ". This should be the same as registered in the system registry, else it wouldn't show

29. agreed to the new employee Brad hired http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=21277
I mean the part about the discount for Drengin. I'm happy that you can buy the game as cheap as that, but I don't understand the discount part. I like the SG One TV series, there were TOLANS in there, untill they were wiped out by the Goauld. Your name resembles this (a bit, well I have alot of imaginazion Celtic Tolan ;) )
WOW. Ambassador! Being only a CITIZEN, How about " If you wonder where we live, it's Amsterdam, Netherlands. I WAS NOT PAID by Brad to publish this, just to make it very clear But perhaps he can promote me now, I'm already far too long "only" a CITIZEN ." ?
#3 by Citizen Tollen Kell - 3/23/2003 3:14:44 PM Freya, Check out : Link Sorry, Tollen (nice name, btw) but I still don't get it.
Can you imagine " to evacuate the entire population of a planet and sent the population to other planets. " WHEN a planet is under attack? Do you believe even is this would be possible, the population would survive? I mean, obviously there are Ships and Troops at or around the planet involved. Which would mean at least not the ENTIRE population could flee. Porbably NO One could. Perhaps some could survive on the planet and start a guerilla war?
Thanks, RustyBlade, NOW I know I'm not the only one looking desperately at a new lifestyle as from coming Wednesday ;)
"As you can see, sometimes us testers get a bit confused. I am sure once we all have our own copies of the game, this muddled state will clear up." Yep, we have to wait for the final release to draw conclusions, everything else is only speculations. And since we are ONLY three days away from the great moment....
First of all, mate, I found a link to Galciv through the MOO3 forums (like alot of us, as the recent poll result showed). I had never heared of the game before let's say 6 weeks ago. When I came to the Galciv site through this link, I found out I either could buy Galciv standalone or Drengin. I looked what the differences were, and since Drengin offers alot more (several games additional, like Stellar Frontier, Bugs 2002 and Corporate Machine) as well as a full year of free updates and additions
WHAT Discount? Where did you found that? Drengin.net gives you Galciv and several other games for US$ 69.95. If you only want Galciv this seems to be a good deal.
I leave it to the experts then, because I have never seen such a message so far. Just tried to help you.
Ronald, do you have the beta? Or are you waiting for the final release? Just curious, because I played the beta so often my keyboard had to be renewed :) Charles.
So the same as I. Leaves the question WHY it is 1.0.0.1 IF the 1.0 Gold will be released in three days? Or is it an upgraded version? I don't mind actually, because I know the released version has lots of additions. Just wondering.
What do you mean with a "News Reader"?
HI, Flespile, yep, there seem to be soo many ways to (TRY TO) win a game, it's absolutely fabulous we are able to win NOT ONLY BY WARFARE. (I have to admit though it is FAR OUT to have the possibility to be really BAD :) )
Hi, Ronald, yep, nice to see this forum is visited by Dutch people as well. In an other Thread I saw at least three other Dutch (the question whas: where do you reside). Although the major response was from people in the US, it turned out in general there are visitors from all over this globe (as it should be, for this game is indeed AWESOME).
Go to the directory the game is installed, normally C:/Program Files/Drengin.net/galciv and RIGHT CLICK on the GALCIV EXE. Choose PROPERTIES > VERSION. Is there anybody on this forum who can honestly say ALL 26 Points DO NOT describe us?
True, Lucky Jack, but all you guys bare in mind: SEIV modders did fabulous jobs but I always wondered IF they actually EVER finished a game at all. They were (are) all the time busy tweaking the game to their needs/thoughts (which basically is OK, of course). But first of all I think you should enjoy this in my opinion indeed first 5X GAMING XPERIENCE :)
"I once again want to thank the developers for allowing me to be part of the Beta experience and if they ever develop a huge game like this again I would be proud to jump on the band wagon and give them my time." Yep, count me in as well.
Well, I think first of all we want to find out how much the Gold + Bonus Pack differs from the beta. Now, knowing Brad has a great challenge in beating the AI at the highest level, and HE IS THE ONE WHO PROGRAMMED IT WITH HIS STAFF, I certainly will go for an easy approach first of all. Just to get the hang of it. AND THEN, UP TO THE METAVERSE :)
I don't understand the message form Kuroth. If he bought Drengin, he actually choose to DL Galciv and the other games available. Also Brad mentioned Drengin buyers actually can DL the Gold version and Bonuspack "late Monday, early Tuesday". And the emails to Drengin and beta buyers would be send out on Monday.
When I woke up as normally I kissed my wife briefly and ran to the computer as usual to connect to the Galciv site and Forum. I looked at my Object desktop (yes, also from SD), and Heeeee, only three more days to go! Probably even less, I bought Drengin and Brad mentioned they would release it earlier for betatesters as a test for the Server's bandwith (although I believe he also wants to reward hardcore Galciv lovers like me for their trust in the final success of Galciv ;) ). <br
Thanks, Brad, for yet another peak at the awesome possibilities in the game. You can imagine how much all of us await the moment we can start playing it, but the release is close now. :D
:D THANK YOU, GUYS, THOSE THREE SUGGESTIONS WERE GREAT and it works fine now. It seems I DL version 0.90 because that pops up when I start the Drengin Game manager under NEWS. If you DL that version you get the problems I experienced. Sorry that my question popped up under Galciv, but there was a post already concerning this problem. Your help once again proves the greatness of the galciv community. Only a couple of days more and I will need to find an excuse for my pailness caused by only play
