i think some posters are seriously under-playing the problems some are having. for example, how is one to adapt to an enemy race having dreadnaughts while they are still on battleaxes? you can be freaking captain kirk and admiral nelson but if you got a PT boat and the other guy has a nimitz class carrier. i haven't seen this event yet but some people make it out like it's the players fault for not being able to adapt to dreadnaughts while playing with battleaxes. a simple: "

morale used to suck for me too. basically just do whatever you have to lower your tax rate. lease techs, make trade routes, anything so you can lower taxes but still break even or higher. once you got your basic defenses down start building starbases, not just on resources but in every unhappy sector and start building morale building modules.

not sure if this was mentioned yet, but i think there should be a tonnage limit on how many ships you can buy from an empire, especially ones you were at war with the PREVIOUS turn. (buying up all his battlecruisers was fun) also, when you buy tranports they should not be filled with troops unless you go back to home territory and fill them up.

i wanted to try a REALLY quick game, so i set all the ais to intelligent with a small galaxy for my second game. i had massive boosted diplomacy skill. in the diplomacy screens i get the "they consider us gods" and the "these are not the droids you're looking for" report. anyway, by horse trading i traded a few techs to the one race, to get more techs from another race, and then sold them all to the minors. eventually in the middle game, my one sector empire was at 9000+ in the treasur

one of the posters at the orionsector forum said one of the reviewers had a clear bias to galciv :) so we got one bias to galciv, one against, and the other left out. seriously, they mentioned why they disliked what part and if i didn't care about that then i could ignore that part. plus they showed screenshots so if anyone doesn't think those are "poor" then they can ignore that part too. one reviwer said he disliked this one thing while another said he liked it. otherwise they said a

don't forget just because the artifacts and yor are dangerous to the newer races doesn't mean the precursors meant for them to be. imagine a car in medievel times: backing over people, filled with colorful poisons, filling enclosed spaces with carbon monoxide, whirring blades + unattentive curious people, playing with the +/- connections on the battery...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- by Ambassador Lucky Jack - 3/23/2003 2:04:25 PM When you have to factor in the screen resolution an additional calculation has to be made to determine just where an icon has to be placed. If on a 1024*768 screen an icon has to be placed at 740*290 and the icon has to be 32*32, if you have to translate that to a 1280*1024 screen then you have to multiply the plac

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- by Ambassador Lucky Jack The game resolution is fixed at 1024*768. The simplest explanation for why they did this is to reduce the processing overhead... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- how does that work? once the ui resolution you choose is onscreen, how is processing time used up?<
