You can only win an influence victory if you are at peace. Negotiate a truce with the Yor. The AI is not likely to attack an enemy much stronger than themselves. Oh, yeah, look at the VIcotry Screen to see how close you are to each victory condition.

Did you redesign a new colony ship to take advantage of them?
A scale in and out might work also...
Which brings up another oddity. 1000 troops means 1000000000 people.
This can be exploited big time. For example, if you are in the green on cash, you can buy any Galactic Wonder immediately and not go into the crippling debt that it'd actually cost. As a test of this theory I bought one that would have sent me to -28000 cr.
This should be fixed (I can't believe it was intentional). I've had to restart games because I had it on when I made a new game.
I had my "Expendable" class. I put a Psychic Cannon (I forget the exact name) on each and went to town.
What do you mean by charged for? If you mean are you paying to biuild stuff, then, yes, you are. An increase in production means you build it faster not cheaper.
I saw a few at my local WalMart today.
It was new and they eventually did start building, but much later than the first few games. (I panicked when I had my eight colony and nobody else had one except for thei Mars -- I posted too soon)
What is espionage? Spying. If you like knowing all about the enemies and getting the techs they know, then it is worth spending money on.
I recant. They did eventually build, but much later than usual.
It is very easy as nobody but me built a single colony ship
At beginner (heh, I'm still new at this game), they haven't built on on a 1.0X game. (And there are loads of open planets!!!) This makes it go from beginner to total cakewalk as all the "Major Races" are now demoted to minor status.
The AI on a beginner level (heh, I'm still a beginner) is not building colony ships in my game
why have a global setting that seems to do the same thing Less mouse clicks
A rule of thumb for GalCiv2 is build on everything you can.
He'd probably do it, too.
C. But I am playing a bit of GC2
Civ IV- 9.4 Battlefield 2- 9.3 Guild Wars- 9.2 F.E.A.R- 9.1 Grand Theft Auto, San Andreas- 9.0 Brothers in Arms, Road to Hill 30- 9.0 Very good company and well deserved.
I like both Civ4 and GalCiv2. They are both very good games.
Multiplayer will arrive? Where did you hear that?
I think there should be a cloaking tech branch. The way I think it should work is to keep lower the sensor range needed to spot the unit on the map.
THe AI is willing to part with their starbases for cash. You can do all sorts of stupid diplomatic tricks knowing this. I've had a culture war IO was losing turn around by buying my opponents influence bases from him. Oh yeah, if you sell a tech to one opponent, you may as well sell it to all of them this turn, because if you don't your opponent likely will.
