unless you know who the reviewer is and you know you share the same likes and dislikes, most reviews mean little. Its just their opinions...and like brains, almost everybody has one. I read reviews that are glowing and I felt the game sucked, and I've read reviews that are awful, and I liked the game. Unless the reviewer uncovers game breaking bugs or things that simply do not work, you should almost know in your heart whether or not you will like a game based on YOUR OWN experience. Works f

I got turned off of tradition RTS (tankrush/elfrush/wizard rush etc about 3 years ago, after the 10,000 th RTS game. I loved original Dune 2 and the original warcraft:orcs vs humans; even Warcraft 2. But after C and C it went stale for me as they all looked and played the same. Then, when graphics improved, they looked better...but played the same. Even Age of Mythology, which blew me away graphically, went back to Electrobics Boutique when i realized (except for a god power or two) it was the s
My father was german and my mother French Canadien so the plan as I was told was that I'd grow up speaking three languages. Alas, things didnt work out for my parents and they split at a young age...no three languages for me. Its too hard for me to learn a new one after all these years of English.
Elrikk--its not chicken to pause and think in games...thats what strategy is for. The alternative is the (by now) heinously overused and worn out RTS clickfest genre. Wampyre is not my real name but since my normal "handle" is WEREWOLF (long story) and suppossedly that nickname was already taken on this board, I chose wampyre...using the archaic spelling just case vampire was already taken as well. I myself am still working to develop more patience..but i find I dont have time for it. ;
For me, Moo3 is not as bad as everyone says it is, though I am expecting GalCiv to be more of the type of game I'm looking for. Everyone said on the FLAME boards that all you had to do was click end turn and you could win...you dont even need to build warships. Ha. I must have a different game then.I didnt build a lot of warships because of those boards thinking, hell, I wont get attacked by the weak AI. But I did. No planet invasion forces but those fishfaced things sure wiped out my in
dont have to be rich to own a 21" monitor nowadays. Yopu just have to buy one when your 17" that came with the computer finally blows. By the way, it wont be too long before EVERYBODY has larger screens.Prices have come down drastically. As for the res...I assume all that means is that fonts will be on the small side for bigger monitors? Cheers. :d
eh! you bedder watch you mouth dere young man or we take you fishin on de bayou and you doan come back eh? LOL
Elrickk..Hoi is not as difficult as you think..well actually it is but you get the hang of it quickly. Now that the HOI boards have calmed down, you can visit them and get answers to ANYTHING you dont understand...just as I'm sure this board will do for ya once you get the game. My advice short term is...dont sweat the politics...dont even bother with them until you learn the game....start with Germany in 1936 and learn with that because they are pretty strong and you are not likley to get into
wow. here in the USA, most of us barely learn our own language! (members of this forum excluded OF COURSE!) ;)
Viproxx---I am not up on conversion rates. How many Euro-dollars to the U.S. dollar? Quality games in the U.S. are usually 40 to 50 bucks. For a game with alot of replay value, 50 bucks is really cheap when you consider how long it will be on your hard drive! I'm STILL playing and enjoying CIV2 (and thats not because I dont have alot of games. I have so many games I'm almost (not quite) ashamed!! I can spend 50 bucks on dinner with my wife easily and its down the toilet the next day if you get m
I assume this is because you are working with a beta? Does anybody know if a real paper manual will come with the retail boxed version? Thanks
Cant wait to get this game. I felt the same about MOO3 but I was disappointed in the release. I still like the game, but because of the hype and my own expectations that it would be an improved MOO2, reality fell short. I've never played the original GalCiv so expectations are different. I do notice a huge difference in the forum boards though. Moo3 boards made me feel like I was in a Jr highschool schoolyard at lunchtime.The GD threads were basically: "Moo3 sucks/no it doesnt; You suck if
