How does one keep morale from sliding constantly? Yeah I know, build morale building improvements...but when there are no more to build (temporarily) and while I'm researching more, what do you do? I actually read somewhere, RAISE taxes. When I did that, morale went lower (duh.) I cant keep building colony ships to siphon off population forever as there are no more planets to colonize. What are the EXPERTS doing? Thanks!!

great for those who havent bought the game yet. if you already have it, you like it/love it/ or dont like it. who cares what the review says. you already know.
bestbuy normally is not the place to look for the nichegames (strategy) first. They are a mass market/lowest common deniminator outlet. If Deerhunter 10 comes out, they WILL have it on the day of release (like Wal Mart) but it will take a while for you see the niche games there. The fact they dont even have any info on it....hmmm. hey, about you buy a washing machine or telephone instead?
the fact that the dweeb even found fault because of the lack of 3d graphics should tell ya right there the youre reading a review from a twit. maybe he normally reviews gamecube and gameboy and found himself out of his element.
since i've never heard of Actiontrip i pay no attention to their reviews. I only pay attention to reviewers that I've read and trusted. Once I get a feel for how their opinions concur or differ from mine, I get a good comfort level. Plus, I'd rather read personal reviews on a forum vs taking ONE guys word for it anyway. Also remember, a review is only an opinion, and like brains, almost everybody has one! ;) ;)
i dont worry about minor races tech levels. As long as I stay on good terms they NEVER bother me, only my enemies. I sell techs to them when I need money. Why would you bother attcking their planets? Cant you win without that? Or does total domination mean killing everybody? I havent played enough games to get into that situation yet. Normally, I have my hands full with the major races so I've never had to take out the "last planer".
you could always take it back and exchange for a new copy. Most stores dont take back games that you dont like anymore but I cant think of any that wont EXCHANGE a defective one for the same title. Your problem sounds like it falls into the defective category.
isnt dat vierd?
pdifolco- if you can believe in SPACE SHARKS, you can stretch yourself and buy into limitless colonyship capacity! ;)
did you GET the answer? You have almost as many posts on that one question as my grandmother had hairs on her chin. it is supposed to be blank.
Jeramir- does 11/10 means that its LOUDER than..you know...10?
knonfuzed- he may have been getting his info from another board (if you get my drift) which would not have alot of praise for this game but would say its OKAY at best. He's not necessarily a troll, maybe he just didnt have the time to read all the good things on THIS forum. Lordzero_ I agree about the lack of creativity in this hobby but thats a sad fact of life. Its now big money (relatively speaking) and few companies who bankroll game makers want to take a chance on anything. Thats why yo
Sebadoh-I didnt relalize you could choose what to trade in Moo3. If you mean trading techs with counter offers and the like, Yeah I know that. But I thought the only trade options in the literal sense was trade agreement or improve trade agreement etc...there is no amount or item to trade. Maybe I missed something. I'll have to stop playing GalCiv and check it out again. (NOT!)In terms of what I did understand, the counter offers on techs etc: I thought you COULD do that in GalCiv. I like M
Heck, I bypassed all that noise and simply walked into an EB store and bought it yesterday. Imagine that. I know...terribly old fashioned, but I've been playing now for two days!
Still waiting for an answer on the "strategy forum". Is it embedded in this forum somewhere?
precisely why I do not bother with multiplay. I have no need for the Kewl Doods, Lord Suxxoor, EeevilFrodo1's of the on line world.
Both my local EBX's had the game yesterday...one of them is a little EBX right by a highschool and college that has 80% of their titles for Playstation, Xbox etc etc. They still had GALCIV right up front. All I had to do was fight thru a dozen kiddles buying Megazoid/Galonkazoid Kung Fu Robot Master to get to the counter. Piece of cake.
I found very little diference between GalCivs leaders nodding and Moo3 leaders flailing their arms. After awhile I dont pay any attention to the visuals other to see the color of the background anyway.. Its what they SAY that matters to me; and GalCivs diplomacy text MEANS something. its not mindless garble. In my humble opinion there is no comparison between the two diplomacy models. In GalCiv you have one; in the other....well, you dont. In GalCivs trading you can at least pick what you want t
most excellent. thanks guys
thanks to blitz and phil. cheers
Can ships be repaired if they are returned to a planet with a shipyard or something? Or do they have a finite amount of hit points and when they are gone thats it. Thanks!!
Civs with a leg up on you do drive a harder bargin. The leg up could mean more military power, bigger empire etc. Thats been my limited exerience. However, I would think that, regardless of relative power, they would agree to an even (or close to even) trade if there was something you offered that they really wanted. Would this be trhe case?
How do you modify the number of colonists on a colony ship? I just build em and send them out. Where do I adjust number of passengers?
I'm playing on BEGINNER AI for all the civs to get my feet wet. So far, there is a little military action going on but because I gave myself extra diplomacy points, I'm staying out of all the fracus except from the Dregnins..as I expected. However, I have a good military ( I weasled some defense ships from a few friendly empires) so I am fending the buggers off. BUT............I'm getting a bad feeling from the YOR, who seemed so freindly to me for most of the game. I'm not feeling the love from
lovin it lovin it yes yes yes..NO!(wait) I've had it since 3 pm Tuesday. Not enough time to get the drift of the entire game so a question: Once you've infiltratefd an empire (I've got max spys etc and it says I know more than the leaders mistress (not really but you get the drift.) WHERE do I click to find out all the info that I have? I click report and it tells me nothing. I get some info on the diplomatic creen, like who they are at war with, what Joe Blow on the street thinks etc. I
