jean, Im curious as to why you don't just buy it direct from these guys, or order it from an American store. I understand your pain though; for stuff like Championship Manager, I have to order it from the Uk to get it...

Read it- its a scary piece of idealistic crap, all the more so because Marx was an economist and ignored it. I can't believe people here actually think of communism, or any such group think idiocy as being a viable system for the world. I used to lean a lot to the left, but saw too much around where I lived about the failures or socialist measures (in India, Ethiopia) to buy into that- Im now 20, and a conservative/libertarian, and proud of it.

" Are you sure it's not because they're allied? When two races are allied you will no longer have the option of asking them to attack the other (although you should in my opinion, but the costs should be really out there). " Im with you completely on this one- it aggravates me that alliances cannot be broken like this. One more annoying thing; in my game, the Torians were allied with the Altarians, and the Arcaens, and the I-league. This sets up a scenario where the Arcaens cou

I lean towards libertarianism, and Im always amused when anyone tries to defend socialism in any form. time and time again, it has been proved that this is a useless, corrupt system basically set up so that the lazy fucks who don't want to work can get away with it. That's my problem with much of the left- they seem to think that people who make it for themselves (and get rich) should have to pay the bill for idiots who do nothing but sit on their couch all day. It flouts the concept of pers

1) double click on it- it will show you the benefits, and a little arrow-shaped key if more than one module of a type is installed. 1a) not sure, but anytime you bring a constructor you can see what can be added.. 2) press "esc" and look at the bottom of the screen... 3) Entirely a function of how you play- I believe that in terms of pure effect, economic, research, and military are the most important, but I might be wrong..

TruePurple, I don't mean to be rude, but I don't think you're getting this bit correctly- it was always designed as a stand-alone, single player game. You can't just make a game multi-player, and Brad made it clear from the beginning that it was not an option, and was not even worth considering..

Star Pilot, no prob- I came up with by playing around and realizing I could do more with my extra cash (I am a business/finance major, after all ;) ). What Ive also found is fun is to pick a fight with the minor AI's, but not to destroy them- Im a lot stronger, so I can demand a lot in tribute and they will pay it, whether they can or not...

I actually had a similar long recession, but I had enough cash flow at the beginning to spend through it; I also found this gave me the ability to do one of my favorite tricks- lend money to the AI at high payment plans; for example, Id give 300 now , in return for 25 a month for 20 months. I didnt mind the delay, and I found this to be a simple way of making money. However, the AI, even at the lowly level, had different levels of rates it would accept.

Im going to have to agree with #8. This MOO3 bashing is getting pointless, especially when we start threads on the topic. I like the fact that this forum isnt a flamefest like the MOo3 forums, but statements like this will make it more like that, not less.

Im in complete agreement with most ppl here; this is a very important feature. while I understand the spearmen vs tanks arguement from Civ 3, I think the point is that traditional numerical advantages are being disregarded here. I don't think simply adding the attack points is the answer, because people would have no incentive to upgrade; rather, there needs to be some sort of modifier so as to take advantage of numerical superiority. Im curious as to whether you think there is a middle ground t

This may turn out to be a really stupid question, but every time my survey ship goes onto an anomaly and it reports something (like this will increase moral by 2%), will that take effect immediately or do I have to build a starbase to take advantage of it? Also, are resources the result of anomalies (ie, build star base on anomalies) or are they completely seperate ? thanks.,.

This has been mentioned in another thread, but I would like some consequences to be associated with the selling of planets; your people will not like you much if you sell their kin away. It should filter into the ethical dilemma as well; would you rather pay cash, or give up a star system. More so, if you decide to give up a system, there should be some evacuate your people option, and compensate them (it would be more expensive, but the ethically right thing to do if you wanted to g
