After speaking to several store managers (EB's, Game, JB's) it's ebcome clear you can only get it from the stores if you preorder it. That right it's preorder only. Additionally its not due to arrive to next month by some reports... And there is no limited edition available. It's regular only.
Interesting, as by EB games (Melb - CBD), they have stock on order and expecting shelf copies tomorrow - copies that are not pre-ordered but for sale to walk-ins.</

Thanks for the responses chaps(etts) - Interestingly I went and gandered at online purchases (being the luddite that I am, I still hate digital purchase and using Impluse is going to make my hair go grey (well, greyer)). Amazon already has it listed cheaper than Stardock has it (although yes, the benefits exist for buying it directly from Stardock) and if, come crunch time and I can not find a b&m version down here anytime soon, I'll bend my 'non-digital' viewpoint and get it from

Bricks and Mortar Edition - Australia Has anyone managed to purchase a copy of Elemental (a bricks and mortar version rather than a DL edition) from Australia yet? (if so, where?) EBGames are listed as the 9th of September, however in speakig to one of the store owners I get on well with, they have not recieved anything from the warehouse yet (nor it apears to be even at the warehouse). Cheers for any

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to play / install to a USB and use that install to play on another computer (ie, does it write anything into the Windows folders that has to be there via install?) If the game isn't portable that way, are the save games able to be moved from one machine with the game saved to another? I am wanting to be able to install on my home PC (or USB) and use my laptop for my daily commute to work (hour each way) <p

I for one love the idea of the archival DVD (moreso, even better if it is available as a download for overseas people) - burn and store away for re-install or updates. Years ago I had a wide range of problems with patching GC, primarily due to having upload filters on my registered email address blocking me sending authentication keys (Stardock were, as oft are, great in their help), so I am keen on the idea of being able to get content based support disks. And

I'll answer this myself. The serial code from the shipment to Melbourne, Australia worked a charm in getting the bonus content as well as the collectors content. I'm a happy chappy - now all I have to do is figure out how to play it during work.

Hi there, Well, I've been informed just now by my local friendly computer games store that my order of GalCiv II has arrived, 6 days ahead of the 'official' Australian release date of the 12th of March. There was zero chance to pre-order the Collecters Edition down here (most shops said "hat game was that? you sure you don't mean Middle Earth II or SW:EaW") I remember seeing a post earlier from Stardock that people whom got first shipment would be able to get the Colle

Is there anyway to submit games after you have finished them? (ie, does it keep a record). I often play laptop based so getting to a phone jack to connect to the internet is a race vs the battery. Failing that I guess I should try and save the last few turns before winning and replay them while connected.

I have a planet that has the population dropping at a very high rate. The planet is a 17 class planet (orginally 16), Universal Moral is at around 75%, planet moral is lower (around 40-50), and money is also being put into the moral slider bar. The planet had a special of a pre-stellar race on it which I took as slaves for the +37 production bonus. Its within my infulence sphere (being right beside two 32 class planets just in the star system next door in fact). I

I play on my PC and on my laptop (allows me to sit with the wife while watching late night mindless TV together). PC uses stardock, Laptop uses the stand alone patch files. For the life of day of me, I can not see a version number at the start screen (with start, load options) or later in the option menu. Am I missing it, or a earlier note saying that there isn't one?

UPDATE: Its now for sale in at least 1 PC shop in Melbourne. (waves copy) The shop is the old microarts shop, on Elizibeth St, just down for JB HiFi. RRP 85, althought I got it for $75 due to being a regular. This saves me having to D/L it, or begging for a copy and buying the key online.
I will think of you when I am playing the game in the next few days
Bah.. Thanks TNT for the thought and kind words! May the Space Zoo get loose on you too :) *considers running off to friends and using their capped download cable - damm Telco's here for capping downloads to things like 1-3gig a month*

Well, here's homing Mythor goes and gets himself a burner this week (go on, right now, can you not see the faces of the starving masses against your window) :p I believe there was a post prior to release that talked about how the archive made a burnable CD copy without the serial code attached. The question was raised on someone asking if it was attached to wit I believe the answer was no. Also, I have heard a rumour from one of the game shops in Melbourne that it might be in

Any chance of twisting an arm for a CD to be burnt? More than happy to cover the cost of the postage and CD, as well as provide RL details etc. Realistically, downloading no matter how easy would take me weeks, as I can not leave my line tied up over night (so its about 2-3max around midnight). Also, downloading it from work (which would be lovely) is just a no-no, moreso considering the current enviroment. I'm located at Victoria Barracks, Melbourne if you need to know how far

Question: Retail version. Has the copies of this been pressed and sent to retail stores already, or should we expect a longer wait for it. (than tomorrow) Being a 56ker from Australia is going to make downloading 600meg a pain in the behind if so.
