just have hehe won another in normal. Guess i was playing all subnormal to try different strategy and victory. I wonder if only normal and above count? ~SDC~
Nirvana_CN
Yup, my usual start for a large map, which works against Normal or bright AI so far is Set spending to 100% (Ignore the loss for now. Set Military to 80 Set Social to 0 Set Research to 20 You then pump out a colony ship every 3 turns. Once you think you have all the planets, switch to constructors to grab the resources, by the time you have a few of them, you should be almost out of money, so equalize your spending, move military down to 40, social to 30 an
haha Stavald, im Up in Leeds and also downloaded the full 380Mb last week..not an experience i want to go through again! ~SDC~
I try not to turn of culture. As many times the Civs dont resign to either me, or the other AI's it gets a bit repetative killing them off on a larger map. I normally get bored at the time i have clearly won, and so end up just grabbing a culture victory to save me an hour of mopping up. ~SDC~
Log off Galciv.com and just re-register. It will change your name ~SDC~
Hmm ok im Wrong. In my just finished game i was easily extorting civs 50/25+ and with my allies they were paying up to 50/30. guess the stance of the civ to you is a big factor on lease length ~SDC~
Ahh your intial post doesn't convey that, or im reading it wrong :P. Im sure you will agree that propaganda is esential to use in every game, once you have a decent income, for the moral boost, the tax benefit was always negligible ~SDC~
ok..doh gotcha. What about the 5 game winner, i notice you dont have that one, despite your profile shows you have won 10 games. Seems weird, some have it, others dont. ~SDC~
I agree..exclude Colony Ships, Transports, and Combat Transports from the auto launch. ~SDC~
Does anyone else find the tiny slider and arrows when trading techs for money too small? After a while my eyes and hand end up hurting! anychance the slider could be made a little bigger to be more manageable? ~SDC~
Yea i ordered the CD as backup last week, not here yet. I'll give it another week before i start wondering where my money has gone :D ~SDC~
Do people getting the REALLY high scores change the planet frequency to Many perhaps? even on large maps with 3/4 control of the map im only hitting 500bn pop. just a thought.. ~SDC~
Do these differ? I have noticed some techs/buildings/Modules offer +15% manufacturing, and some offer +15% production. are these simply alternate names, or do they really differ in function? ~SDC~
The "rouge" monster :P Oh yea and the Drengin telling me if i was there with him we could snuggle..of course i was about to destroy his last star system hehe ~SDC~
Just realised something. If you look at my profile, you will see i have won 8 games, and have a score over 1000. Do i not qualify for the 5 game winner and 5 game winner over 1000 medals? Not a bigger really, just jealous of my Grandads WWII medals! :P ~SDC~
Dont forget the Rouge Monster...who always seem to remind me of an umm "working girl" with too much make-up hehe ~SDC~
Yea, with 1.02 i cant get much more than 50/22 when trading techs to major Civs. Also has anyone noticed that minor civs are always in debt now..from pretty much turn one they are *always*about 1000-3000 in debt..they seem a shadow of their former selves ~SDC~
Cash cow? I never said it was. It *does* make more people happy for me and generates a slightly higher tax level. I was actually responding to you telling everyone never to use it. I had VERY bad problems with moral until i used propaganda, telling people its not worth using..is well wrong :) ~SDC~
Propoganda in invaluable in the mid game!!! I would never EVER consider not using it. It raises your moral high enough to increase production, no of ppl paying taxes, stops the planets being culturaly dominated. ~SDC~
Gets an 8 from me..adding in some features, and enabling the autoupdating AI will get it a 9. ~SDC~
I prefer end of turn, its more flexible on what you do, and allows you to react i guess. ~SDC~
I play a fair bit :P. But im only wanting simple info really. Which victory is considered hardest, and scores higher? Is population a big influence? etc etc ~SDC~
Yup I cannot get much higher than 500 points in any Large or Huge map game. I always have 200 pop + most of the tech tree done, 1000's of kills, a few 100 losses, the most inflence, 30k in the bank..and still i cannot get a decent score lol ~SDC~
Dont worry too much Brad, of the 6 or 7 gaming sites i regulary vist, cal civ is getting rave reviews, comments, most are having new gal civ forums set up and created. PS because of me 5 guys at my workplace now own the game..can we talk commision here? ;) ~SDC~
Log Off the GalCiv Site. And re-register. Worked for me :) ~SDC~
