I am with Ancient Warrior. I have had an opponent trigger this one three times total and none of the times did I notice them surge. 2 were on sub normal games, the most recent on normal. olaf

Forgot to add support for auto-scout feature. Also would like to see something like the feature in civ3 where you can either choose something from their side and ask what they want for it, or choose something from your side and ask what they will give for it. olaf
Some stuff: Ability to sort planets by research output. Drop down menu system as opposed to buttons to change between various sort options. The ability to right click within screens like the governor and diplomacy/negotiation and get details on things. Like for techs especially. A button that auto sets the max tribute an AI will concede once you have selected a term. For example, you offer 5 techs and select the tribute option on their side, setting 50 month
What is supposed to be shown in the upper right portion of this display? Just your trade routes, or the top performing trade routes? The reason I ask is that the 'show all' button has never worked for me on this screen. Clicking does nothing. But in my first 3-4 games, I just saw my route info in the upper right. I saw the lines on the map indicating the AI routes, but the information displayed in the upper right was solely my routes. But in my current game, that info shows 2 of my
Heh. They need to make your stats right clickable so that you can see exactly what they affect/benefit. I still am not clear on what exactly +manufacturing is, it would be nice to get an official word on whether it affects social, military or both. olaf
What about +1 Range? That doesnt seem to work either and the description uses parsecs when I think they mean sectors. olaf
You dont ever lose a trade good you built. When you trade it, you are in effect licensing them to build their own. You are supposed to only be able to trade each trade good to one other civ. But, prior to this last update, you could trade them to multiple civs. Not sure if that was fixed or not. Trade goods are pretty nice, and I dont really like to trade them. When the AI builds them, they want an arm and a nut to license them to you. olaf
Still would be nice to get an autoscout feature. And, its very different than asking for no fog of war. olaf
Any official word on this? Since the trade routes work two ways, I thought maybe the trade route base improvements would be also. olaf
Well its just silly that building a colony ship, launching it, then disbanding (or not, they dont have upkeep I dont think) it is a good tactic to use. Its a pita, but its highly effective in raising morale, and cheaper than all but a handful of the morale improvements. olaf
I got a possible bug in my current game. On the trade route screen, it shows 8 routes in the upper right (where it lists how much the routes are making, etc.), but only 2 are mine the other 6 show up with a blank field for Empire. Is this supposed to happen when the 'Show All' button is clicked? Because that button doesnt do anything at all when I click it. In my previous games, the button hasnt ever worked either, but I only saw my route information in the upper right. olaf
If you have a starbase with some of the module that boost the income of a trade freighter in that sector, does this module only impact your own vessels, or are the AI vessels affected by this as well? olaf
The 'Show All' button on the trade route display screen under domestic policy has no effect for me. I assume its supposed to toggle other the other civ's routes on/off? Well mine are all on by default and its quite cluttered. olaf
I definitely am losing some sleep to this game. Thats the sure sign of a good game. olaf
Its a tough game. My advice is to start on small size map playing the AIs on their lowest setting. olaf
Or highlight your product and hit CTRL P. Updating the game via SDC is not very intuitive. olaf
Is +Range working in the race setup screen? Doesnt seem to be for me, my colony ships dont have any greater range at the start of the game. Also, it mentions parsecs in the text description, but shouldnt it say sectors? olaf
So there is a new version being posted today? Different from the version posted yesterday? I seem to be having SDC problems today, not getting connected for whatever reason. olaf
I agree0. Release all patches on a separate ftp server or something. SDC is not very intuitive and it makes things needlessly complicated from an end user perspective. olaf
So +manufacturing doesnt affect social production at all, just stuff in the miltary queue? What planetary improvements speed up social buildings, any? olaf
Click on the right side (the other guy's) stuff and it will place it below on the bargaining table. When the text of your deal is green that means they will accept it. olaf
I am pretty sure it did actually update, the exe is different and going back to SDC doesnt allow me to update anymore. olaf
Just like the subject says. For manufacturing, does that bonus apply to things in both the military and social queues, or what? For starships, does the bonus decrease their construction costs or does it make them more effective in some way? olaf
Its hard for me to tell if the AIs are actively trading techs 'cheaper' with each other than with me. I did notice they had a LOT more techs than pre-patch playing on normal. Like I said above, so much so that I got my ass handed to me. I was able to win a game on subnormal fairly easily after that so I will go back to normal again for my next game. Its still a very good strategy at the sub normal level of AI, but its nowhere near as good as it was before. I do think they tweaked it
