I use firefox too (when at home) and have been having some issues as well. Specially with editing my posts. And even loading the forums, it takes forerever. But maybe that's not due to my configuration. I also have trouble refreshing the list of posts: it won't update correctly. This happens whatever navigator I use.

I think guard functions fine. At least when a ship is in danger and I've not noticed it, whenI click on "find" I'll go to that ship and see that there are enemies aproching. I do agree that selecting among stacked ships and fleet is not easy, most of the times I end up moving the one I wanted to leave there. I'm getting around by clicking several times on the stack until I see the correct ship selected in the bottom of the screen (but sometimes it still is the wrong one that moves <

I tend to play long games too. I've started a normal game, small galaxy, with all races, started it the day of release, and I'm just getting into midgame now. So, as others said, everyone has their own style. I think that if you configure your game with more AI races, it will appear less slow without getting much more difficult: at the begining things are more levelled (everyone with more or less the same amount of planets) until someone gets the upper hand. It allows for more variaty

Le dîner de cons That's a good one. It's adapted from a theater play, and the dialogs in french are hilarious. Don't know how they translated into english, but it still remains a very good comedy, we liked it a lot too! If you want I can suggets you a few titles (of korean movies). But

I think I read in the forum that if you're not building anything in the planet then the social production of that planet should be between parenthesis which means it is its production potential and is not actually being deducted from your social spending (in other words, that would be the planet production if something was being built). Maybe someone can confirm this?

Hi Terl! I was wondering if this Terl was the "old" Terl! Yes I'm still here, I stopped playing for a while, due to overwork , and some movie marathon that made me discover Korean movies, which ended up using what little free time I had left. (Btw, Kore

Sorry for the double post, still having a few trouble submitting my posts. This one is the edited one, the correct one. Hello again Adragal. Mais um brasileiro! E eu que pensava ser o unico! Have you checked the available space on your hard drive as Terl suggested? My first attemp to download everything failed because I though almost 3Go . Turned out it wasn't enough... (due to the temp file downloaded then the extraction of the previous file

And it seem s I'm not able to edit my post. I mean I get the edit page, click submit but cannot see the changes. If I click edit again, I see them in the edit page, but not in the thread . Strange

The biggest issue I've personally seen is that there is a limitation on how many extras you can add to a ship. That's a pretty big bug. But not one most people will run into (no one in the beta, gamma, or us personally ran into it but now with serious ship designers playing we need to address that right away). We've already fixed that internally.

I don't understand the bit about 'last week' since GCII was fully available only yesterday. Maybe it was a problem with his order? EDIT: and now you already have 2 devs at your side, see how good they are

I agree with Terl. Stardock service has been top of the line eversince galciv 1 (I cannot say for before, but I've been in the forums since the release day of galciv, and I can tell you I've never seen thislevel of support and interaction before. You must have been unlucky and you posts got swamped by new threads that pushed it to the next pages. If you repeat what is your problem I'm sure you'll get an answer, specially now that CariElf is here <img src="http://images.st

Dainter I've had that before, but now it has been working fine. For what I heard here people having this problem were going to the design page with the go to fonction (in the window you have once a ship is completed). I've been going there throu the button in the screen (the far right one), and had no problems so far

I think you can also add to the fixpoint (the red dot I mean) an altering "thingy" that wil chnge the direction of the fixation. It worked for me with another component in a previous game.

I've had this too, but I know what's happening. The save window spawns behind another window. I've had this too (I also posted this in the other thread). But it was in the beta. And I had the same "diagnosis" as Honduras stated. I've sent the crash report and the smart exception to stardock (even got a reply, in where it was assumed

played until 3.30 AM yesterday inspite of having to work today. Me too. The message box "a few more turns won't kill you" made me stay muchlonger than I wanted... As for your question, I've not noticed this, but I usually reset the abilities before making my own choice, specially since when you start a new game, the picks from your

In the normal game there is definetly the range notion. The life support techs ad range to all your ships and offer the possibility of adding extra modules in the design that allow for even further range. And it is useful too and necessary if you play medium maps or bigger. And if you clicl in one of the first ships, say the defender, and zoom out a bit, you will see the thin grey line delimiting its range.

A note of caution: gigantic map games can be a real fun killer if you're not used to the game. they take foreve and are very slow paced, at the beginning. I agree with Goldie Zlac, I'd advise to start at medium which is a good compromise. At least in galciv1, gigantic were almost a whole different game. IMHO.

Small probably, maybe medium galaxy. Normal difficulty (I've been playing the beta at challenging, but I understand the AI has been greatly improved since). Humans, starting out neutral and walking the hard path tha leads to Goodness (altough that path may be paved with enemies bodys - I guess in the end being good is a matter of perspective). But tight clusters and uncommon habitable planets, again, probably... But it will be in the metaverse setting
