Well, I managed to create a character, about a week ago. But I had a totalgaming.net serial number. But after the character was created, I tried to submit a game but it didn't work. I assumed it was because I was playing the beta. I too remember reading that they would wipe the metaverse.

This has become some thread! I too voted no (at least I think I have, this site has been so slow for me latelly that most of the times I'm not sure if my posts were sent or not). Btw, didn't know who derekroth was, no offence derek , until now, and I only know him to the extent I saw his nickname in this thread. This was an interesting discussion a few pages back ( <img src="http:
still be better than a multiple-sheet 8x11 printout from a PDF file Agreed! I remeber someone made one like that for galciv1. It was something ! when unfolded it was more like I was choosing which path to follow by actually taking a few steps over it... Still I would like the option to print it too. I was thinking about or
Or if that doesn't work contact [email protected] I had a very quick reply for another kind of problem a week ago or so. They should be able to tell you if your order was regeistered or not.
I don't know if marioflag was talking about my post in another thread, but I actually asked that question and said that it was my impression the enemy fleet went for the ship with highest hitpoints. But I'm at work now and cannot check. It is also possible that it was due to the beta and it may have been changed since (which I asked too). Now that being said, The example I mentionned was, let's have a fleet o 3 ships one smal and 2 mediums. The small one has a lot of exper
If this is true it sounds very exploitable. You just build a ship with an assload of hp and defence and some dinky ships with few hp and high attack and you win. That was exactly my concern when asking the question: having one big ship with a lot of defenses and very low attack and a lot of fighters with guns and no defenses or engines. But ev
Thanks Wahngrok I remember reading something about that. I asked because in a recent fleet battle (beta5) I had the clear impression that the enemy's ship were firing at my ship with the highest hitpoints, even though it was a "small" ship while there were 2 medium class ones in the fleet with it which were far more dangerous as far as I could see (more attack & defense but brand new while the small one was somekind of veteran with +/- 45 hitpo
I have another question on combat: when a fleet is attacked (either by another fleet or a single ship) is the first ship fired at in the defending fleet always the one with the more hit points? and then, when it is destroyed the attackers fire on the next ship, or do all ships in a fleet fire their first volley at ship A, then second volley at ship B?
if you realy enjoy your game, and then some raly bad random thing happens, you simply load some autosave, and it wont happen again, will it? That's what I did. I still had that event, but in another planet and affecting only the planets of that system (instead of the whole, even if small, galaxy) whi
It's just a matter of waiting until tomorrow now! That's been the hard part these last few days...
I agree that random events are a good thing in the game and can sometimes change the curse of a game. But I was wondering if in the release version they were tweaked in order to adapt to the galaxy size. (My reference is the last beta and not the gamma, so if it has been changed since, forgive me ) I was playing a small galaxy game yesterday. Because of my set
Does Colony ship here still have unlimited transporting capabilities like in galciv1? I believed it has been changed. Now you can "only" put 500m people on it (and 1000 in troop transports). But you can always build bigger ones with the proper miniaturisation techs and by putting more than
I believe what you have in the intelligence screen depends on the total amount you have spent in espionage at that point. As for the intelligence report DRavisher mentions, I think you get that when you double click on the ship provided you have reached the apropriate intelligence level ("advanced" probably). At least I have a message telling me I don't have the required level yet when I tried clicking in an enemy's starbase in a recent game
I live in Paris (France) , but I'm Brazilian and my wife Russian
Agreed. Very nice. But I've been having a lot of odd behaviour as well (using firefox too). I cannot quote anyone, (by using the quote button). Also, latelly the site has been vere very slow, and I've had a lot of server timeout pages instead of the threads I waned to read... One last thing, I noticed that from time to time the list of threads stops refreshing itself: I though that there was noone here yesterday, and then I c
I think I saw a post by frogboy telling that the Ai did no longer know where the good planets are, so they must search the map as well (they might know where the yellow stars are though)

sleeping waiting as calmly as I can (I sit for a few minutes and get up again) checking the forum every minute or so for news or game examples working (but still checking the forum from there) reading (My War - Colby Buzzell, very interesting) watchiing movies, sampling some favorite galactica episodes, or star trek. Anything scifi and in space, to change my mind Waiting some more I must say that the waiting part got harder since I downloaded everything..
You can see what's installed in the starbase. Which modules you can add depend on the type of starbase and your tech level. But, as far as I know, you must keep track of your current tech level and which modules the techs make available
It's indeed changed to a defensive only pact. Has this change been implemented since the last beta (ie in the gama version)? Because I still can't get away from wars in my current game (there are 2 alliances and me, Iif I make peace with 2 out of 3, the next turn or so those 2 will attack me again, a
No, once engaged there is no retreat. There is a very long thread about combat in the forum, if you want more details. But for me the way things are works ok: as you mention engines speed , I think they are still very relevant, since with a better engine you have more movement points per turn. So if you have a ship with 6 or 7 movement points, you can use half of it to attack nearby ships, and then use the 3 or 4 moves left to put your ship at a safe distance from other ene
So, the Bonus Pack and future updates you won't be able to download without having the Serial # and Stardock Central installed onto your computer. Correct? Yes You need a valid serial number to download game updates and bonus pack. I think that for updates you don't need stardock. In galciv one they wre also available as standal
There is an archive option in stardock central
Maybe you can use SDC to archive all the elements you downloaded and then restore it to the folder you want.
I basically wanted you guys to convince me why I should buy Galciv 2. Well that shouldn't be too hard... The great Ai The fabulous support offered by stardock The great AI The various weapons systems (and defenses) The great AI that will adapt itself to your ships (weapons and defenses) so it is more effective.
