Hi!
I'd chose the dog. 1) People suck. 2) Kids suck. 3) Dog does more for me than stupid girl does for me.
Uranium, I seriously miss an emoticon here. BR, Iztok

Hi! Gentlebeings, many of you arguing here don't even have an account on metaverse. Since you're not playing for scores (hence compete with evil scoremongers), why do you care about balance anyway? Just play as you want. BR, Iztok
Hi!
use the focus button at the top of the colony screen in to "social" area. This will re-allocate 50% each of your military and research spending into your social spending (at a 50% effectiveness penalty, i think).
Not exactly true. Focus converts 1/4 of labs output into production, and 1/2 of the other production field. No penalities apply to that transfer, but not a single point of bonus production or research is transferred. The increased factories output from manuf.
Hi! So here's my official game: Despite bad starting location I've been lucky with home planet: a 300% research and 300% production tile with a 100% morale tile. It was such a nice combo I went with the game, despite I started quite far from both AIs, and without good planets close. I've also been EXTREMELY lucky with
Hi!
Sometimes it takes like 70 weeks to build a Factory!
Set spending to 100%. Set social rate slider to 100%, other two to 0%. A factory should be built in 5 turns. BR, Iztok
Hi!
I need to drop my production down to 20% for a short while and run it on 50% for quite a bit after that usually.
UGH!!! again. :( I'm glad TA is still beta. I really don't like to go back to GC-1 style of play (spending at 100% only when player was able to get his econ and morale ability up to ~100%). BR, Iztok
Hi!
on all my colonies it shows that im spending alot more than I actually am.
The spending on colony screen includes maintenance. So when you read spending 28, is that composed of: - 12 BC maintenace for Initial colony, - 2 BC maintenance for one Factory, - 7 BC for paying Factory and Initial colony social production (building another factory, social spending slider at 33%) and - 7 BC for funding Initial colony's research production (research slid
Hi!
market centres now cost bc to run
UGH!!! Again I'm glad I don't have to bother with the TA beta. However I have a question for you TA owners: has anyone checked if the tax revenue has been changed? Since so many cost in the TA have gone up significantly, the game should be mostly unplayable, but that doesn't seem to be from players' reports. BR, Iztok
Hi!
unh...Iztok, i'm going to guess that is just an EXAMPLE game that you are showing us right?
There's so much concern about the game I've posted, that I need to ask this: is it forbidden to post another game for the same round? IIRC I haven't seen that in the rules, but if it is, then I'm revoking the game I posted. It has been late evening and I've been mostly fooling around, testing what can and what shouldn't be done in a real game. BR, Iztok
Hi!
maybe I can get in a quick game before I leave today.
You mean something like this? [link="http://metaverse.galciv2.com/index.aspx?g=player&id=4669"]http://metaverse.galciv2.com/index.aspx?g=player&id=4669[/link] --- Time: 1/18/2008 6:27:42 PM Map: Tiny Victory: Military Conquest Years: 2 Points: 18200 Difficulty: Suicidal Game version: v1.80g Dark Avatar (Dark Avatar) --- I'll need to do this better next time. Hi! The ONLY time I've put a piece of jevelery on my ship was when I've ran out of hardpoints to fill remaining space on a huge hull with ultimate missile defenses. No jevelery matters for me, because I play 99% of time in strategic (icon) view mode. My ships are machines of death and destruction, not fashion models. ;) BR, Iztok
Hi! Desktop comp. I haven't even tried to load GC-2 to my old portable: Cel 733, 192MB RAM, 4 MB on-board graphics card. BR, Iztok
Hi!
As a beginner, where exactly should I begin?
You can also check wiki: [link="https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Gameplay"]Gameplay[/link]. BR, Iztok
Hi!
1. How is spending calculated?
Check wiki: [link="https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Military_production"]Military production[/link] and [link="https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Research"]Research[/link].
2. are the listings for the amount of production and research given before or after bonuses are applied?
Before. Only the most basic prodiction is shown. But if you check the planet with a spy, you'll see the max output values with all bonu
Hi!
I ask because the wiki clearly states that it is only valid up to 1.31
I suggest you to read wiki a bit more carefully. In the lower half is a very specific statement: "Updated for newer versions of the game (DL 1.5 and DA)". BR, Iztok
Hi!
Ship Naming Strategies
No names, just stats: - med m6 a12 4: medium, 6 missile attack, 12 armors, speed 4. - crg b1 4++: cargo hull, 1 beam weapon, speed 4, life supports. - col sml 3: small hull, colony module, speed 3. - lrg X: temporary design, the most expensive I can build with given tech, used just for storing MP into it while waiting for proper tech. Actually never finished, because I switch planetary production to proper design when I obtain th
Hi!
Well into the game Lord Kona contacts me
That's a known glitch for quite a long time: AIs can talk and trade WITHOUT having UT. When I play them, I can't. :( BR, Iztok
Hi!
And the few that have economic traties, well it can depend on the point of th game they got it, maybe when their economies weren't worth much, like early game. Maybe they paid a lot for them too.
Or maybe that depends on the diplo relations. If they feel good about you, treaty costs less. :NOTSURE: Will try to test that. BR, Iztok
Hi!
What version are you playing?
IMO more relevant question is what difficulty level is he playing. I have the same problem with my maso+ games, but have read about players on normal to practicaly buy-off the whole universe. BR, Iztok
Hi!
None of us are immune from having to let off a little steam now and then. I've been as guilty as anyone else at times but I've taken the advice of the cooler heads and let things settle down.
Correct! Sometimes when I've been really annoyed with some post on a forum, if I immediately started relpying, my reply was usually way too harsh. Now I wait for at least a half a day before replying to such a message. Helps me to cool down, exactly define what I find wrong with
Hi! What you're describing is not a bug. If the game would freeze or crash or you wouldn't be able to move ships or put a building on a planet that'd be a bug. What it is I'd call a minor glitch. Game still works, and the gitch is gone when you invest a just a few more tech points. BR, Iztok
Hi!
I think you misunderstand the criteria
True. What made me think so was:
there will only be 4 points given out for fastest game
Please not "game" is in singular, not plural. So I understood that as: only the fastest and most scoring game gets 4 points. Just a lack of background info on my side. I actually like the "1 point for 4 best games" idea. BR, Iztok
Hi!
Ties for fastest game will now be broken by score. So there will only be 4 points given out for fastest game, regardless of the number of games with equal time.
BTW I still didn't vote for the way ties are resolved. That's because I don't agree with the scoring system of "the winner takes it all". What I'd like to propose would be more like medals: 3, 2 and 1 points for best three games in each category. If there would be ties, then they should be resolved by the next
Hi!
BTW Impressive game Iztok.

I take off my hat to you, sir.

Iztok DID make all the difference for Team E.
Thank you gentlemen! I just had to keep up my reputatation. ;) Frankly this was the THIRD game I tried for that round. First two were DL ones, with Drengin and Yor. I thought +70% growth bonus, +30% econ, drengin's 25% inherited morale bonus and 40% better DLs' economy would be enough to win quickly, and I also haven'
