Hi!
Just take a screenshot of the victory screen and post it in this thread.
Thank you for the speedy answer! This will work for the current round, but I need to solve that problem with serial in order to participate in other games. Now I need to remember how did I post game pictures... BR, Iztok

Hi! I have a big problem with my game. I can not post it to the metaverse. Server keeps rejecting it because "application serial number does not match the number at metaverse server". I've tried updating the serial, updating the game, re-registered the game with the serial I've just received from StarDock, deleted the sig.bin, updated serial through SDC... Nothing worked. On the metaverse accound under registrations I see the serial for my DA and DL, but both are the same, despite

Hi!
I agree that the way the choices are set up now is unrealistic (in real life terms) and unbalanced (in gameplay terms).
Ummm, I don't completely agree here. It is true that evil choices give short-term benefits, but good chices give them too, besides long-term benfits. In my game with Iconians I've choosen to play as good, and when Drengin declared war on me I've been receiving ships form just about every civ in galaxy - including Korath! About three quarters of my mi

Hi!
ships that are in orbit don't cost as much in maintainence, perhaps only costing as much as the previous value or less.
Good one! Like in Civ in democracy, when your unit outside home city causes unhappines. Another idea about ship maintenance: player pays only for ships over his logistic. If he has logistic 6, he pays maintenance for the 7th and above. This would finaly make logistic line worth researching beyond the third level. BR, Iztok

Hi!
Hyperion Matrix ... it should be the foundation of how the Thalans run.
I agree. Some races should be played differently, and Thalans are a proper candidate.
I would change the Hyperion Matrix thusly: First, you can build more than one. Second, it produces 12 industrial, 12 research, and 4 food.
I'd say the output is too high for a starting building. 6/6/1 would be IMO more appropriate, so having 5-10 on a planet would not kill the planet's

Hi!
1) The Kyrnn...why do they only get 9 pts to customise with
That's a question for developers.
2) The "Cash Crash" or how fast is too fast to expand?
Rule of the thumb: when your treasury is below 2000 BC and when you rise taxes to overall ~50% approval and you're still losing more than 100 BC, it's time to stop, or take some other action: - go shopping for money: sell tech, extort minors, - research techs that can give you more mo

Hi!
In multi-player, the game difficulty is going to be dependant on the ability of the best player,
Nope. The ability of others to recognize him as a leader and organizing an alliance that will tear him apart. . Seems in your games there was not much between-turns diplomacy. Hi!
Selling almost any techs to Minors
Why just to minors, when you can sell it to EVERYONE?! If you don't, minors will. So better you make the profit. BR, Iztok

Hi!
from my experience, even if you strike first,
It shouldn't if you're the one who initiated combat. But if he's the attacker, then Super Warrior doesn't have the "first strike". That's why I wrote you need speed: if you pull your ships out of reach of your opponent, his attack simply can not happen. BR, Iztok

Hi!
%100 nothing but factories on all planets?
It's not just factories, there are econ buildings (markets, farm(s), morale building(s)) too. But there aren't ANY labs, and that makes all the difference. BR, Iztok

Hi!
before the last patch, i made about 12 bc at the start of a new game. i patch my game and now i lose 7 bc right from the start.
If you haven't noticed, it's the ships' maintenance that's dragging your economy down. Seems StarDock again over-nerfed something: re-introduced maintenance for unarmed ships AND increased overall ship maintenance about three-fold. :( BR, Iztok

Hi!
Super Warrior - First strike. This affects WHAT, exactly?
If the Super Warrior is the attacker, then in the very first round of the battle opponent's destroyed ships don't fire back. The higher the firepower of the fleet, the better this ability. You still need good speed for that fleet, to perform more attacks in your turn, and/or to retreat it out of opponent's reach at the end of your turn. BR, Iztok

Hi!
When you guys play on obscene and suicidal how do you set up your planets in terms of factories and research labs?
Depending on the amount of planets all-labs or all-factories. In older maso games I've built mixed planets with an emphasize on research. But after trying the all-x approach I'll never get back, because suicidal now feels like maso felt at that time. BR, Iztok

Hi!
If GC2 were multi-player, I highly doubt I could ever win. There's always someone better to come along and take you out and that's the guy that always wins.
But he's not always there. In some games you are him. ;) Sure the knowledge and skill are needed to compete in MP games, but 4x games aren't chess. Here's also luck involved. Usually an expert player will win 8 out of 10 duels fought with an advanced player. But if it happens he has bad luck with habitable

Hi!
In GalCiv 1 I started a game on a 4x4 map ... got the earthworm event but +40% PQ
There's simply NO comparisson between +40% PQ event in GC-1 and GC-2. In GC-2 it's just some more tiles, but planet's still hindered by the same rules as every other planet. In GC-1 going from class-18 to class-25 means on such a small map a difference between victory and defeat, because that planet will end around class-30 with basic two terra techs! In GC-1 class-30 will virtually

Hi!
I'm not seeing where taking espionage abilities at race-design benefits you.
In DA nowhere. AFAIK it just allows you to SPEND more, so get the next spy faster.
I guess its possible you get a steady flow of techs when you reach advanced on numerous opponents?
This question hasn't been answered yet, but IMO not. You need active spies to get a chance for stealing a tech. WRT stady flow: one tech per game year isn't a steady flow. Also, the cos

Hi!
So... which raises your military score more?
Mil score: sum of all actuall attack from all your ships + sum off all acutall defense + sum of all hitpoints / 10. Ships in orbit get an attack bonus, that seems to be rounded up, so a fake defender (cargo hull with cheapest attack-1 gun, beam and missile) gets an attack value of 6 when in orbit, artificially doubling your mil score. Besides building and upgrading mil starbases is this the cheapest way to i

Hi!
I'm actually more concerned that the higher maintenance levels hurts the AI's, since they build tons of "defenders" that get more expensive now, leaving them fewer fleets to attack. Hi!
Someone has hinted that there is also a slight tax hit at 5000BC and 10000BC marks as well but I've not done any testing to prove or disprove this. Hi!
Immense, 9 challenging players
TA is still beta and is probably not yet ballanced properly. I can not check with the game to confirm that. But you can do some simple tests: have you talked to Terany yet to check their treasury? They might have a big cash reserve :NOTSURE: . The other thing is AIs could tax their pop skyhigy. I'd suggest you to save game and retire. So you'll see what's their average tax rate. If you get the first level of espionage (5 spy/months neede
