Hi! suddenly I lost specific graphics within the game. For example, ships became simple configurations of small circles instead of beautiful ships. That's normal function of the game when you zoom out. Zoom in (get closer view on you ship), and you should see details again. BR, Iztok

Hi! For example, i made peace with the Degrins, who were kicking my butt. Peace cost a lot, but I was willing to pay for it. 3 turns later (no joke, 3 turns) , they ATTACKED ME! Arceans attacked me the very next turn we signed peace treaty. OFC I felt cheated. 've exterminated them lately with great pleasure. BR, Iztok
Hi! i tried to do that ""C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\GC2DarkAvatar.exe"cheat like in galciv but it does not work It should work. Does program run when you click your "cheat" shortcut? BR, Iztok
Hi! Does this mean that the game will randomise the opponent AI up to tough level? AFAIK it's "though" +/- a level of two. BTW don't do that on crippling. Some AIs may get up to "incredible", and that's the setting for maso games with 100% AI bonus to econ, production and research vs. 25% bonuses at "crippling". Maso AIs will be so dominant other AIs will never stand a chance. BR, Iztok
Hi! I have Dread Lords and I'm on the 3rd board If you're playing a campaign, there are some limitations to the tech tree. "Trade" tech could be affected. But if you just want to exchange stuff, you need to find other races, and talk to them. BTW you can't talk to Dread Lords. BR, Iztok
Hi! Iztok - I'm jealous. Don't be. I'm just imitating your gaming style, using more suitable Super Diplomat for that. And you probably know what's said about imitating. but for me buying planets is tricky, and not something I can depend on yet. Are there any pointers you can pass on that I might be overlooking? Nothing
Hi! X_x They never easily sell their planets to me. Unless its like a class 4 in my system, then they still want 20,000BC! D: Yesternight I as Humans bought in a suicidal game a class 11 planet for Planetary Improvements and Advanced Trade. In fact at turn 30 a half of my ~10 planets are bought. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=
Hi! This sounds to me like more serious bug. If you can repeat it, zip the save game and send it to Stardock bug reports. BR, Iztok
Hi! I've played two games of DA so far, and in both the AI's had the colonization techs long before I could research or trade for them with another civ Three AIs start with some extreme techs: Yor with barren, Korath with toxic, and Iconians with toxic and aqatic. And Altarians go for those extreme environmental techs almost before anything else. In my tiny suicidal game they colonized a radioactive planet at turn 9. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/g
Hi! All of your trade routes must differ from each other either in terms of the source or destination planet. I've never heard of that "rule", and game does not check for that either. When I chose a trading partner (an ally until the end) most my trade routes go from one of my planets to one of his, making as long route as possible, all between the same two planets. plus there are production bonuses for morale > 80%</d
Hi! small map 2 random AI at suicidal Sucidal AI is bad for learning. They got so big bonuses not a single person without an expert knowledge of game mechanics can overcome them. For learning the ropes better try "though" (full AI without bonuses). BR, Iztok
Hi! Actually, I wouldn't expect such a race to need any entertainment at all, even at 100% tax. To push things further: if they're aliens, why the he.. are they actually using money? And from what source population in our game gets money, when not a single building in our game requires workers? BR, Iztok
Hi! For that reason I’ve never considered leasing since that feels good in the short term, but has generally ended poorly. If you know you'll win in ~30 turns, why not taking lease for 100 turns? In my first suicidal game the end report said I lost 78,000BC on tributes and leases. Hehe, ~90% of that money was never paid, I finished the game at about turn 90. <br
Hi! while capturing systems, I have captured a few that are building capitals. This concerns me. If I build them, will they destroy ones already built? Answered here: Ability to destroy capitals . BR, Iztok
Hi! I played with tech trading off, That's the reason you lost. The type of gameplay you presented is HIGHLY DEPENDANT of the money you collect with selling tech. If you can't get another source, you can't sustain that insane amount of research, and this strategy collapses. But to push it at extreme, you should use Humans as Super Diplomats for it. BTW I wonder how you managed to collect all that money from AIs. Im my games they rarely have more
Hi! If I could only manage my growth better Easily achievable by building/buying Aphrodisiacs and those two bio techs at the bottom at the tech tree. Also, if you manage to keep the approval of your planet good, you'll get bonus to the pop growth there: above 75% a 25% bonus, and at 100% the 100% bonus. I find I win all the battles only to lose the war... To win a war you need to take their planets, period. S
Hi! my opponents perceive my military weakness and naturally start invading. You need to keep them happy. The lack of your military is just one or two "minuses" in relations. If you have enough "pluses" to outweight that, you can develop your empire in peace for several more turns before you need real warships. What are your options: - get better diplomacy they have, - get one trade route to each AI, more only to the one you want to have as an al
Hi! If you had read more AARs you would know what I'm talking about. I wrote two. If you'd check, I actually wrote the first one ever here. Where are yours? the players who score better than him don't say to use these strategies And scoring better makes them better players? If you'd have a true understanding of the game, you'd know that scoring good and playing good are two somewhat different things. <b
Hi! is there any way around this? I've given them lots of money (IIRC 10,000 BC), and eventually they've built there that last lab. BR, Iztok
Hi! you just got lucky with your map settings Ugh!!!! You don't know what you're talking! You read a lot of AARs, and now you think you're an expert. When you'll finish a game or two on suicidal, then come back and read again your post and you'll see how n00bish it is. His play was a masterpiece of extreme balancing. You just don't know enough of the game to actually recognize that. you seem to have a lot of excuses for
Hi! Since I'm "advocating" Korath (Advocati Diaboli ), here are two victories for them: BR, Iztok
Hi! are they even worth colonizing? Try and learn. BR, Iztok
Hi! When you are getting that many research points per turn, is it possible to completely research more that one tech per turn? That can be done fom version GC-2 DL 1.1 (or close). If you can't do that, you must be using a very old version of the game. BR, Iztok
Hi! My money problem is only going to get worse, I'm going to have to win quickly. A bit of advice: homeworlds don't require ANY costs to maintain, and have "free" 12B pop and 25% approval bonus. In my current (and first) suicidal game I turned all 4 HWs I conquered into money-makers (but 1-2 best research buildings). Now I only need to wait for the pop to grow there above 1B. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Mad.gif" border=0 align="a
Hi! And I simply cannot image how that's possible: Check their abilities / statistics: the soc/mil production is usually quite high - 30% at least just from all researched tech. If they're industrialist, or 've "picked" additional 10-20%%, they're quite there. Besides, the number you're seeing with your spy is MAXIMUM POSSIBLE production, not the output from the planet. To see the real output, you need advanced spying on them. BR, Iztok<
