Hi! I read all these "Suicidal is extremely easy even if you don't get an awesome home world" comments and everything... I'm pretty regular here but I've seen "I can regularly win Suicidal" posts by only SOME players. Rest of us are mostly bitching Masochistic is too much work to be fun and Genious is too easy. However half of posts are still ye

Hi! MoO1 and MoO2 were clasics. MoO3 was intended to introduce the 5th X: eXperience, but failed to cover even the basic four. Game was overdesigned with way too many features, but as development costs and time grew, fatures were chopped off, dilluted, merged... until what was left was almost unplayable and not understandable by most of players. BR, Iztok
Hi! I don't think I'll ever submit a game... Sad really but like most things in life if you are going to judge yourself by metrics then you've got to be sure that it is an accurate measure... and sure as anything mv scores are not accurately reflecting playing strength. As I already stated I play for fun. But if I want to put some meat behind my
Hi! There are 2 problems with the AI that make this so. One, they just don't develop their planets at all well. Why should they develop planets, when they get (on masochistic and above) 30+ research and 30+ production from a planet with only basic colony, and 150 money from 0.5B pop? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Mad.gif"
Hi! If you're being attacked with rails, though, you get 0 defense, not sqrt(2+9). Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. You get int(sqrt(2)) + int (sqrt(9)) = 4 against mass drivers. So ANY defense helps, but only the correct one really helps. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote
Hi! What really matters in battle is "relative strenght" of fleets of ships, not the absolute, that is used in military stats calculation. By relative strenght I mean combination of weapons and defenses on ships. So if my ships have beam attack and armor, and his ships use mass drivers and armor, I could do significantly more damage to him that he to me, but to another race that is using missiles and shields it would be just the opposite. The mil strenght should take
Hi! I don't see the reason for posting saying you won't be... See? You're so focused on your goal you can not even think about other options. I just want to remind you there are some. BR, Iztok
Hi! I won't apply. I play for fun, not for the scores. BR, Iztok
Hi! The "build queue" on my average (size 8+) planet is 2 (or ~30%) factories, 1 morale building (to tax & grow pop more), ~30% reserach buildings, ~30% money buildings, 1 farm, starpot. This way I build installations reasonably fast, get lots of reserach points early, and get quite lot of money after the pop grows to max food. BR, Iztok
Hi! How come the A.I that are my allies only go to war with the person I am at war with when I'm are winning, and claim MY spoils of war Because you go to war unprepared. I don't start a war until: - I have enough warships to easily (without much damage to them) destroy opponent's defenders in orbits, - I have strong enough fleet(s) to
Hi! The game is extremely static after mid-game, especially if you're in the lead. I have to agree here. My early game is usually a strugle for survival. Then it's "vulturing" the weak sides in AI battles. Then, after I get enough planets and tech, ellimination of one or two neighbours. After that the game is basically over. My empire is too big
Hi! But i need some more challange Increase difficulty of the game. BR, Iztok
Hi! I love being evil. They have the best achievement in the game Hum, you want all the bonuses form evil, but don't accept also the maluses? AFAIK such a behaviour is called immature. Plese remember:
Hi! How is the Military score calculated. The last formula I heard was: sum_for_all_ships_with_weapons ( attack + defenses + hitpoints/10 ) By my observation starbases are excluded, as are troop transports based on cargo hull. BR, Iztok
Hi! what should i do to build a strong army? Forget about millitary graph. What matters is the type of defense and type of attack ships have. If you have on your ships weapons they don't have proper defenses for, and defenses that match their weapons, you have BIG advantage. Run a ship combat simulator several times to get the k
Hi! Any ideas on whats a good balance. - Main warship: medium+ hull, good speed (1 or 2 best engines), a bit more defences than your opponent's most common ship design has attack, rest weapons. Sub-variant (too kill escorted troop transports) has 3 engines. - Interceptor: tiny/small/cargo hull, 3-5 best engines, single small weapon, rest range
Hi! I guess I can't complain about that because "I can't do better." A reviever, who has been criticized by an author that he hasn't written a single novel, answered: "I admit I haven't laid until now a single egg, but I can make better omeletts than any hen." BR, Iztok
Hi! Heh, I remember objecting to guns getting bigger on larger hulls from the first beta, when this was mentioned. The same idea was posted several more times by other players, without any effect . Obviously Stardock isn't keen for simple solutions. BR, Iztok
Hi! What's the best way to defend your civ when a more powerful civ attacks you? As first you should prevent that to happen. I usually send a trade freighter to all strong civs to improve relations with them, and try to get quite high diplomacy, again with the same purpose. I even give some money if relations with the most dangerous neig
Hi! tak combat is the most important for me What will you do in tactical combat besides fire on the most dangerous ship (what game already does) or give order to retreat from battle (what's uncertain if it will be there)? BR, Iztok
Hi! All that's needed to put in a level between crippling and masochistic is putting in an AI level with a multiplier for the main things between 1.25 (genius) and 2 (incredible). It seems to be that simple, but I just realized they'd need to change metaverse scoring too. And that would probably be the main problem. You probably know what
Hi! For instance suppose you enjoy attacking and killing weaker civs, but your people belive in a sense of honor. So what, you get rid of your people. BR, Iztok
Hi! I actually don't see that tactical battles would bring in the game in which there's no : - weapons', hulls' and components' initiative, - different weapons' ranges and firing arcs, - different weapons' effects, - internal damage in ships. So why there should be tactical battles? BR, Iztok
Hi! build all the unique structures, abandon the colonies, and re-colonize them to make use of the tiles again. After one abandons a planet its PQ drops, and planet also losses green tiles. BR, Iztok
