I've seen a few 'rip' reports on this board but that is the first time I've seen someone 'step up to the plate' and take some responsible action. That is impressive.

Never say never .. or is that Never say die?
I use WindowBlinds ,of course SkinSudio Icon Packager ObjectDock I've played around a bit with DesktopX but haven't really found a skin I like a lot for it. I haven't gotten around to the others yet ~~Hey, DM, you should have mail. Sorry if it doubled, Yahoo is acting weird~~
DM I'm by no means an expert but if I can help let me know. Email is [email protected] [Message Edited]
I'm still learning PS. I've used PSP for years. Mostly what I do in PS right now is just fool around, not making anything specific, trying to get a feel for what the tools do and how to get the different effects. When I feel I've got more of a handle on it, I'll probably try to make a skin with PS rather than PSP. It can be frustrating trying to make a specific item or graphic when you don't know the program very well. It seems most of the tutorials assume you have the basic knowledge of how
DM, are you just wanting to learn how to use the tools in PS?
I'd like to see it, Sylva. I'm always looking for new things to add to my repertoire.
Thanks, moshi. I'll check it out.
Silver by Essorant when I'm not testing the current skin I'm working on.
I don't know if I'm ready to go that far (resource editor) but thanks for the suggestion anyway, moshi
Ok, thanks. I keep learning more and more about this stuff. I'll have to look into Smart Buttons on the next skin I do.
So, if I understand you, if someone came up with an app/interface that would edit the UIS file, button 1 could call up the app and, working with the existing Smart Button dlls available, the other buttons could be reprogrammed within that interface.
I don't know how feasible this is but how about 1 button, call it a config button, that brings up a configuration dialog for the other buttons. To set the function of buttons 2,3,so on. That way the user could set the functions according to his/her own desires and be able to easily change those functions. I guess this would entail button 1 bringing up some sort of application to do this? "the one they call ted" has some ObjectDock Icons that are for log off, shut down, etc. that are program
It is kinda cute but, from the specs, I'll bet it sounds like a sewing machine.
Wow, thanks guys. A lot of good suggestions there. I had seen the tutorial when I first started but it was kinda confusing but now that I'm more familiar with skinning I'll have to go back and read it again. Checking out the bits added by other skinners is good too. I'm sure I've got some that have the Start Panel Item Background. You guys are great <img src="http://images.
People were actually using automated systems to download files? I'm presuming to increase their download count to get them listed. How very strange. Thanks for the heads up on working in the new system T-Man. I look forward to the system.
Happy Birthday!
I agree with Dark Mist. I would rather see 'quality not quantity'. I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to see my name up there, but, at this point, I'm concentrating on learning and improving my skills. Top authors should be Top Authors. /me goes back to 'bashing them out'
Does anyone know if there is any info anywhere on the default size for each item? I would guess when you start with a new skin, the bits that are alrady there are the default size but some parts don't have an image such as Panel Item Background, Special Panel Main Content, etc. Thanks
I've got a AMD K6-2 500, 128MB PC100, 40 GB HDD, CDRW, 8MB video built out of spare parts. My wife has the fast computer
#1. Health #2. Happiness #3. That they would quit fighting in that other thread Sorry We now continue with your regularly scheduled programming
I'm not sure if the CPU Mag article is there but you can read quite of few of Steve Gibson's articles on his website http://www.grc.com He's also got a pretty good firewall test to see how effective your firewall is.
Wow, 100,000. I can't imagine but then again I've only been here a short time. Hats off to you sir. Job well done
This site has some pretty good tutorials http://www.eyeball-design.com/fxzone/frames01.htm Good luck and have fun
EventHorizon, look for some tutorials on the graphics program you are using. While you can use various 3rd party filters to get a 3D look, using the built in filters makes a nicer look IMO. This may not make much sense if you are new to the graphics programs (filters) but check out some tutorials and you will get the idea. There are a lot of buttons and stuff! <img src="http://images.stardock
