at one point, i was informed that a planet of mine was in danger of rebelling to the Arceans. well, several dozen turns later, i have built several culture starbase modules and improvements, and now i drastically outshine the Arceans in culture... this sector is 1624 compared to their 199, yet the skull and crossbones has not gone away from my colony. is my colony still actually in danger of rebeling!? someone please tell me what's going on here! ~SDC~

i last played the game a few months ago and now i am reinstalling. i don't see an option to install the windowed version. has this been scrapped in recent versions?? i really enjoyed being able to play the game directly on my desktop. please advise, thanks. ~SDC~ [Message Edited]

interestingly enough, non-windowed mode works fine, and in hindsight, i realize i just updated the windowed mode today, too... so it must be a problem with that update and not with 1.3A. ~SDC~

has anyone else noticed this? i have just updated to 1.3A from 1.3; the crash happens when starting a new game or continuing an existing one. on the first screen after the game loads, when pressing the 'Done' button, i'm immediately booted back to windows. i'm running the game in windowed mode in winxp. everything was fine before 1.3A!! i have also rebooted with hopes of correcting the problem, with no luck. any ideas, folks? ~SDC~

i don't quite understand what this anomoly find does. i've noticed that it does not increase one's stats the same way a soldiering bonus or repair bonus of +1% does. could someone please explain? ~SDC~

one more thing on this. if i'm allied with a race, and if my culture supremecy far outweighs them, is there still the possibility of gaining the planet from them? i really don't want this to happen, as i rely on this planet for trade, but i'm a real powerhouse in the Culture department. ~SDC~

I can't figure out why an Alliance isn't possible with the Altarians. We both have Alliance tech, and my relationship is deemed Friendly. Does the fact that they are Saintly while I'm only Neutral have anything to do with it? suggestions, please! ~SDC~

i tried 3 times yesterday before i finally got it; the download kept stalling, and at ~30k/s, it was several hours each time through... however, the third try was later in the evening, around 9pm mtn, and i got the game in less than an hour. perhaps after peak hours are done, it will speed up again. ~SDC~

this isn't quite the case, however. i'm not talking about not noticing a difference in my overal morale, i mean in the Stats page, which lists the bonuses that you received at the start of the game, plus any that you've accumulated thus far... for instance, you know those anomolies that a survey ship will find, such as the one that gives a 5% espionage bonus... after your ship finds them, by the next turn (it seems to take a turn for the effects to update) this extra 5% will be reflected on the

well, i wanted to move it to a different folder, which is why i didn't just reinstall over top of the existing install. . . and it turns out that the game can be moved around, even to a different drive, without need of reinstallation. just like the dos games of old! ~SDC~

i've noticed something. . . when my survey ships encounter an anomoly that increases a stat, all seem to work except the ones that modify morale by 2%. soldiering, repair rates... these work correctly, increasing the stats by 1% just as they claim to... why doesn't morale work? or is it just a one time boost or something?? thoughts, please! ~SDC~
