I haven't had this problem...but I've only fully ran out the tech tree once. Usually the game is over long before this ever occurs for me. One of the recent patches greatly reduced the impact of morale - do you have it? I never really had bad morale problems like some have described and with the 'morale patch' things are almost overtweaked.

1. You can build a starbase anywhere. If you build a starbase on a resource then whatever bonus that particular resource gives is empire-wide (but only the resource bonuses...not the military/social/trade - those are only sector-wide). It's generally good to grab as many resources as you can early...then as you can, start building 'local' starbases in sectors with your systems. You can also have more than one starbase in a sector for even bigger production/trade bonuses. I often build 2 full

"You can have as many trade routes from the same two planets as you want." Yup. I see no problem with multiple routes between the same sources...except that it can be dangerous. If something (war, conquering, etc) happens you can lose a huge chunk of income if you only have one trade partner.

There should be a confirmation button for such a drastic action - although it's not that easy to accidentally hit that particular button and I would think that one would be doing this action very little. It would seem that destroying your own colony should cause an alignment hit and possibly an empire-wide morale hit as well. It probably shouldn't be an instant action either...more of a random countdown (while people flee of their own means or whatever)....mostly to prevent usi

If all you want to do is wipe your enemy to win, then invade with the mass driver option and destroy the colony afterwards if you ruin it too badly. I've taken to bringing lots of extra transports to attack (standard) in waves...and then I end up having my victim surrender...to someone else!

GAME CRASH. In my current game I crash to desktop if I try to view my stats under domestics. I'm fairly far along in a medium game. I have music disabled. Most annoying.

AdamTG - This happens to me if I hit the turn button when I'm (not so obviously) being promted to colonize. If I save/quit/reload everything is then fine...but it's still very annoying.

Right-click to send a colony ship to a new system...then when the planets of the system show on the right display pane select then click the planet you want to colonize (an icon appears as you hover the planets).

I'd like the option to declare war (as the other majors can do to me). It seems like it should be more 'evil' to 'declare' war with a surprise attack, while it'd be more 'good' to first declare war then attack. I'd also like the option to 'request' someone break an alliance with someone else.

I don't think I've had that one happen to me yet...but I've had this event happen to me a couple of times. In the game data it's labeled a 'comeback' - but it often happens to a major power that's already doing pretty well. "Reports are coming in that the waning civilization of the XX has somehow uncovered a piece of an ancient artifact that grants the one who controls it nearly unlimited power. This power grows over time. Each day, that civilization will grow increasingly powerful in

Governor don't really do anything...they just have a build queue tied to them. Have you setup a build queue for the governor? (under domestic policy, governor tab)

Mouse wheel works just fine for me on the research screen...put your cursor over the list before scrolling. And...hmm...if I didn't have a mouse wheel I'd probably be insane about now...those buttons are tiny!

Same thing happened to me in my last game. I was playing as 'war party' and I lost an election (and went from +50hp to -25hp). When I won the next election all my ships and starbases appeared damaged - since they got their bonus hp back. On a side note, I was doing pretty well, happily building up, when one of the other decent sized majors got that "XXX just found an uber artifact that makes them more powerful by the day until you're enslaved" event that happens WAY too much. A few m

Dunno if this has been suggested... It'd be nice to be able to lock the 3 mil/soc/res sliders so that when you want to adjust em you don't have to fiddle so long to get the percentages you want.
