Well essentially in managed code you don't delete anything. Java, C# have their own garbage collectors that do it all.
Garbage collection works by performing the delete when there are no more references to the object . Thus, you still have to take out the references to the object or the garbage collector won't reclaim it (i.e. set the pointer and any alias pointers to null). So j

Erebus is great against tower rooks... OOPS!! I mean, erebus needs a buff against tower rooks. [e digicons]XO[/e]
The best strategy for avoiding null pointers is to never delete anything. Let the program munch memory until there's none left. Wow someone is intolerant of alternative builds.
Personally I don't really give a flip about achievements, and favor-wise I've had my general cape for about a month now and don't feel compelled use my 10'000s of favor points to buy anything else so I don't care much about that either.
Well I don't argue replays are more important than the conn issues; I actually think their triage so far has been pretty good. But now that things are settling down they are something I'd like to see. Of course, once we start splitting up the types of things GPG is supposed to work on vs SD I dunno where replays fall.
Another nice Kestrel post. [e digicons][/e] I especially approve of the modding support request... it really should've shipped with the game.
Buff erebus! [e digicons]\o/[/e]
Doesn't make it acceptable.

He had 27 kills on 4v4 15 minutes into the game ( 2nd in kills was like 5 or so), we ended up losing.
[e digicons]XD[/e] </
C/C++ don't really care if you go off the end of the array. Hence, buffer overflows.
Seems to me they worked with GPG just fine. They're the publisher right? Aren't the publishers pretty much just in charge of distro'ing the game, setting deadlines, and maybe sending out the occasional project manager over to sniff out recent progress? Seems unusual to me the publisher would be taking over network coding like they did and helping out (tremendously) with this crunch aftermath. Am I saying they didn't make mistakes? Nah, they did, but it's the 20
We probably need better items for decimating an opponents mana. We have one crappy wand that doesn't do much and one ability (silence) for one demigod. We probably should have more powerful versions so classes can defeat classes like qot and sedna by taking out their defensive abilities by removing their mana pools so they aren't quite so stalwart. One great thing about bite though is that even if a shield is up you still get the hp. [e digicons]\o/[/e]
Great. And clearly QoT is not invincible against Erebus. So asking why she isn't invincible is pointless. If she were, you're probably getting nerf.
I'm not saying we should hide the connection issues. I'm saying just the fact that the community says the game is dying is enough to deter new players... I didn't "not join" PotBS because of connection issues; I did it simply because the community was resolute that the game would die.
They absolutely do hurt the game. I for one almost played Pirates of the Burning Sea. Before I did I checked the forums to learn a little about the game. After seeing a handful of doom and gloom threads on the first page I knew the game wasn't for me.
I consider this a skirmish-heavy RTS-style game, and when I play such games I like options. I'm know the game has options for more starting gold and tower strength and stuff, although I like to see asymmetric setting (to handicap more-skilled players or to stack riches on to the computer and see if I can still crack it, etc.) Now the point: Why can't we have more flexibility in setting up teams ? In most RTS games, you select from any of several teams.
I think doom-and-gloom posts aren't helping. [e digicons][/e]
You're right si1foo. QoT should be invincible against erebus.
There's still bugs, but it seems better IMO. I don't know I can attest to the AI being much better yet though. All I care about is my bite goes off more often; that's worth a week without a patch in my book. [e digicons]:')[/e]
Sedna aura and a reduced CD flag?
I support releasing a patch today. I don't have class on Wednesdays. [e digicons]B)[/e]
