I only tend to build BH's just as a measure to stop the other civs trying to extort money from me or going to war with me. Don't use them for anything else. Also don't bother building anything before them either. ~SDC~
Starvald
Don't forget they get to do all kinds of other stuff.... mining, although from the modules, looks like all that's handled by robots which leaves the humans to.... do all the other stuff available... they got shopping, a giant water park and once the palice gets built get to party big style! Then they get to actually turn the starbase into a moving one and take the party to other cultures! They also get to take turns pretending to be Peter Cushing ("You may fire when ready") or Darth, an
I prefer to get a tech victory. I like to have done everything in the game, every time. The video is just so much better (sorry, but the others suck), and there's more fulfullment to be had in guiding mankind into a new phase.... But I also agree, it should be harder to achieve. Perhaps they could extend it by requiring you to enter into a construction phase to build the machines you see in the video? That could be a hideosly expensive undertaking, and could be something that could be stopped by
You can aquire opposite alignment techs. In my last "good" game, I was building secret police social projects, that was from the thought police evil tech I bought from the Yor. ~SDC~
Almost finished a neutral game. It's a little.....flat. With no alignment techs to boost trade, moral and such. Dull, and hard to make ends meet. That said, you can afford to make some evil choices during the morality events at the start to give you a boost, then later even it out with some good choices! And, Riverunner.... I believe you. Really I do. Honest. ;) Evil is cool, as you can get a great start. (How many times have I told you, people are a RENEWABL
I do declare this....... Cheesy! ;) Must try it before they make the AI wise to it..... like they did with the low PQ thing!!!! ~SDC~
Anyone tried the new, improved luck pick with the universalist party yet? It's my next game pick.... just got to get the current one finished. ~SDC~
I'd like to see the UP enhanced. Where the races could see (and perhaps choose) the issues coming up. You could then trade for influence points, so they'd at least be of some use! More SF references/homages Ground combat more involved/nice Some things specifically for the neutral players ~SDC~
Elves. Little buggers get everywhere.
Ahhhhhh.... warhammer 40k I loved the backstory of that. Never actually played it though. I was a big player of space marine though, I liked its large scale warfare better. :) Long live the Eldar! ~SDC~
I agree, you shouldn't hardlimit the number of bases you can have, or even the number per sector. It should be limited by the economy, I like friendjosh's idea better. At least then if you needed to you could build another starbase, as you might need it (for example increased ship range), but it should come at a cost. Some of the trade modules could be used to offset the costs. Something else that occurs to me is it's almost silly to have the starbases provide 200+ percent bonus to ever
I live in the UK, ordered direct from the website on the 28th (I think) and my CD arrived yesterday :D Still, I'm glad I d/l'ed it the other weekend, even if it took forever (56k dialup) (:(
I've noticed that too. Completed my first game on cakewalk, and as that was a fairly accurate description of it..... moved all the AI's up to sub-normal. The drengin were up in the top left corner of the map with only 2 systems. so I thought I had to worry about the torians who had loads of systems. Only thing is, the drengin seemed to be compensated for their apparent lack of systems by 3 class20+ planets.... they get something called draganol event and their military goes strait throu
Aha! A fellow UK person.... Well, they said they've had unexpected demand for the CD, hence the delay. They also didn't expect the demand to download either. Just how many copies have they sold already? Sounds like bucketloads...... I apologise for any echos you might see. It's a glitch in the matrix. ~SDC~
Well, aren't I glad I didn't wait for my CD..... Was gonna as I live in the UK and only have 56k dialup... Fortunately the oportunity came up to work overtime for both days...... cue an entire weekend of downloading :D Took forever too. :sniff!: btw sorry if this double posts. it was doing it to me earlier :notsure: ~SDC~
I apologise for the double post! Now why in earth did it do that? If this post does it again I apologise for it too :p ~SDC~
29 going on 30. Waheyy!!!! I'm younger than the average age!!!!! Turning 30 doesn't seem so bad now. ;) Perhaps they should start marketing Galciv as the game for the mature player? ~SDC~
