Oops, embarrassing. Sorry.
As for importance during play, I'm still not sure. When I was playing a lot of PvP, the maps were small or medium, and I rarely had extra quanta lying around. I never broke into legendary, because the darn thing was matching me against players like Never, but I was in top 50 for a bit during the second or third season. So I know that I'm not a total slouch when it comes to play vs. other peeps.
That is fair enough.
I wouldn't be against radar boost to units being tested by the devs. If it was considered balanced they could tie it to the structure radar boost upgrade. I'm ok with how things stand now though. Btw radar is very useful. It significantly boosts effective range of AA. It is vital when fighting up a hill because the line of sight is blocked so without radar you won't fire but will get fired upon. It does give early warning and it makes artillery and defence buildings muc
Those minimum specs are very low so going by those the Iris™ Plus Graphics 640 should be able to play that game. You'll likely have to experiment with resolution and graphics settings for optimum performance.
Thanks for the explanations to why the OP's changes didn't work in mod form. Glad to hear mod support is growing in the near future.
I'm afraid not. The game needs a dedicated GPU with 2GB of VRAM.
Presumably though you have access to programmers who could extend AA range if necessary (if it was a code issue).
It seems GPU heat is normal-ish, but i must definetely do something abaut CPU heat.
Dunno who said that but they got it the wrong way round. The CPU at 75 is OK, the GPU at 93 degrees is certainly higher than you want. I was going to make the same suggestion as grefanger. Start by taking the sides off. That is a quick and easy way to tell if it is bad case ventilation or something more tricky.
Can confirm 2.4 in August will feature DX12 stability improvements.
Good to hear, thanks for passing that on.
In one if the other threads a Dev confirmed the August 2.4 patch will have some dx12 stability fixes so hopefully that will fix your issue.
I suggest you stick this up on the Steam forum, I think it gets more traffic.

There was a point when host migration worked, but that may have been before Escalation's release tbh, so some time ago. But yeah, it fails all the time now, so er, you can't kill the host in a big game :/ Of course they should fix this function but a brief work around could be, when the host is willing, is to let players stay on after they have been killed to keep watching. That way the host can remain with the original player. The ability to watch after being killed ha
The improved graphics and wreckage will, I think, be part of the nitrous 1.5 upgrade (see June post). And I am pretty sure that the 1.5 upgrade is expected in roughly august timeframe (although I would assume Fall, because these things often take longer than expected).
Aha! Thank you. I had 1.5 in my head from somewhere but then thought, hang on we are on 2.3 now so it must be 2.5. I'd forgotten where I got the 1.5 from
I think I read a new one will be revealed but I don't know the time frame. So far they have said: A future update this year will add two more juggernaughts and a dreadnought to each faction. A future update this year will add Vulkan support A future update this year will add visual improvements, including dead unit husks. Some of these may or may not come in the same update, I don't know. But I think these are some of the bigger updates this year. Navy is next
Did anybody get this working as a mod rather than copying over the original files? I am probably missing something stupid but I can't get it to work, any help much appreciated, cheers.
Flying height doubled You can do that?! A while back I played some Supreme commander after playing a lot of Ashes. It made me realise how low the planes in Ashes were, too low. To be honest I think the planes could be higher and then perhaps leave the 2 gunships at the current level. There is a lot which could be done here, gunship level, normal plan level, high altitude bomber, an
Been broken a long time. They say they are aware of the problem. But as I say, been a long time... :( Very occasionally some part of it works, but almost never.
It is not normal (in that most don't get it) and I've not personally suffered from this. But as you say this has been an issues which has hit some people consistently throughout the games life cycle, enough that there has to be an issue or incompatibility somewhere. Sorry, this isn't really my area so I can't think of anything you probably haven't tried. Just wanted to add a voice to say I hope you can fix it or that the devs can track this issue down.
I just tested it and get the same API error. Does this just work for ranked or does it show custom games open? That would certainly be useful.
The CPU benchmark is purely for comparing with other systems and is not that relevant to what you get in-game. Having said that, there isn't a mainstream CPU on the planet that has got even close to 80FPS in the CPU benchmark. For an actual gameplay related benchmark you will want to run the GPU benchmark and then yes, you might hit 80FPS depending on resolution and settings etc.
It was said some big visual changes were coming to the game with patch 2.5 (EDIT. I mean with Nitrious 1.5 update, patch version unknown) Any chance the Founders could get a little love and see some early screen shots of some of the things to come? Thanks.
I think he means when you spawn an engineer, any other engineers nearby get made into a meta group and so it interrupts whatever they were doing to follow the command you give to the quanta made engineer. This bug has been around for quite a long time.
Yup, and very frustrating when it happens.
This might be worth checking, a player made fix: http://steamcommunity.com/app/507490/discussions/1/1318835718942998042/
