I was wondering this recently too as AMD Ryzen is only 2 channel I believe. But from the little I have heard about it for most user cases there will be very little difference in it. What Psychoak says above seems to echo what I have come across.

To be honest, once you start the process of capturing a node I think the creeps should stop spawning. Seems a simple solution to the armies n
I've seen it too. I don't know what the standard settings are but there is a bug in there too. I've seen units not fire back at all when fired upon and the enemy is right there next to them. You have to do something with them to "wake them up" so to speak.
I am using DX 12 and it didn't want to run at 4.3 ghz, so I upped the clock to 4.65 and it's running okay until there are 40-80 units on screen fighting so I'm thinking it's the processor...
What do you mean its ok with that many units on the screen? Do you mean performance goes down or it crashes? I would be surprised if performance gets worse with just so few units so I'm guessing it cra
Sorry, do we have to be subscribed to get the magazine or can we download it from somewhere?
wow! I hadn't realised you were so far along with them. It does look cool and the size looks about right too. The only risk is that the bigger and brighter they are the more cartoony they look, but its very hard to get away from that I imagine. But the style is fine I think really, the Substrate are the more visually flamboyant faction so they can get away with it. The drawings of those PHC models look a good direction for the PHC. Really nice seeing the game continue to grow, loo

For a comparison on Ashes in particular you can see the 1050ti vs 470 here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1050-ti,4787-4.html In their GPU chart towards the bottom the 470 wins performance /£ here too: http://www.pcgamer.com/gtx-1050-ti-review/

Gave it a spin. 4 player ffa with tough ai on a tiny map. Quite good fun as so tight. Only bug encountered was telling troops to move somewhere when an Avatar was part of it. The Avatar went but troops didn't. They weren't part of an army. Sending the force without the Avatar worked out OK. Still hoping you can add Avatar to the F1 cycle of engineers as they are very hard to find.
You might want to put it up in the Ashes Steam forum if you want more people to test it, that forum will get more relevant traffic I think.
Can we please have it that they will engage any hostiles at the power generator, I.e. Neutral defenders, instead of them being shot up as they slow down for arrival. Our shoot anything as they still move to a destination.
Attack move should do that. The time it can be a problem is right at the beginning of a game and the units go straight from the factory to the node. They won't be on attack move so the
If you order units to go capture and area and the area is captured while they are in transit they will continue to that destination instead of stopping midway That is a nice one to see! Is that in Escalation yet?
mGPU only supports 2 cards so that would be either your R9 295x2 or one of those and your separate 290. I didn't think CF (dx11) was supported for this game? (could well be wrong) I am not sure I follow all that you say, but if you can get the game to run off two of the 3 GPUs then I think that is the best you are going to get. Tri GPU CF is likely unattainable. And welcome to

Cool. So the next obvious question is will you be sharing your thoughts/the essay with us upon completion? :)
Seems a good idea to me too.
I get this as well and have seen it on AMD and Nvidia hardware. I think everyone gets it. I play at 1200p but I've seen it on 4k as well where it is very noticeable as everything else is so sharp. I guess it is super aggressive LODs or something. Not sure though as it is inconsistent and in patches. But it has been around for ages. I wish it wasn't though as it does take a little something from the experience and makes the product seem a little less polished.
I agree with Timmaigh, the CPU is not your bottleneck and probably never will be for this game. If you want better performance the GPU is where to look. Though I would wait for AMDs new offerings to see how they perform first. Running the normal benchmark (not CPU one) in dx12 shows your where bottlenecking is happening, and the theoretical FPS limits of the CPU too I believe.
There are still people playing ranked vanilla Ashes, as well as a separate group who play Escalation ranked. They need to merge these 2 ranked ladders asap.
Are you talking about Ashes or Galciv? as I don't get the 7.1 reference with Ashes and I think this is on the Ashes forum.
If you create an army and then select the army you should see build options like you do in a factory. You then click on them to queue up those reinforcements. You can see what you have queued up by looking for the little +4 (if you queued 4) on the army information panel just to the right of the minimap. It will then queue those units in factories and they will make their way to you upon emerging from the factory. The substrate also have an ability where the units will teleport from t
One of the upgrades for Substrate Savager is AA. However I think the Dreads are fine as they are, they are not meant to be one unit armies, which they would be much closer to be being if they were good against both land and air. As you say, it is a design decision, and I think the right one. Who knows though, at the moment they are limited to level 5 and within the next few months that is meant to go up to level 10 I think, so perhaps they will get more AA
Congrats guys, long may it continue. Btw why not use some of those pictures as different load screens for matches in Ashes?
