I had a question for those who have played some of the larger maps. Has any of your experienced performance issues (ie delays of a couple seconds, a morality choice where it takes several seconds for the "done" button to appear, etc) I have an Athlon XP 1700 with 512mb ram, so I'm wondering if people with similar systems notice this. Is there anything I can do to perhaps alleviate the performance hit (aside from playing smaller maps) Thanks much SeanB

I disagree that GalCiv is alot like Moo2. I personally think GalCiv resembles Civilization itself more than it does any game from the Moo series (not that this is a bad thing mind you considering Civ is a good game) As to the Moo3 debacle. I read what the designers are fixing and it seems as though they're fixing a large share of the bugs that I truly had issue with, so they are definitely making progress with it. I personally would like to see both games succeed as I like the idea o

I understand this might go outside the scope of what was originally envisioned in GalCiv, but I wish there was more of a role for espionage than what is currently implemented. I understand you have two sliders for invoking unrest and leaving spies. I would like to see the ability to deploy spies on specific missions such as blowing up installations, fermenting revolts (destabilization I think covers this), sabotage production, and such. I know on many other TBS games, I'd play by th

I'd like to see espionage make more of a difference. It seems like it doesn't serve to much use in the game. So I'd propose a couple things. 1) Make it to where you can possibly slow down the social, military, and research performance. This is in addition to crushing morale. 2) How about having a queue where you can pump money into counter-espionage attempts. (I think the planet level propeganda addresses this, but would like something more explicit)

I was able to match and even overpower the AI on growth through the propeganda. The other thing I did to help out was I wheeled and dealed with the AI, getting them to start wars with each other. Thing of it as population and military strength control. By doing this, I was able to keep the AI for the most part in relative parity with each other for most of the game. By the time a couple of the AI players bit it, I had a military strength of 180, research of 300+, and an economoy in the low 2

I was just hoping to get my score submitted since I actually won a tech victory against the AI on a huge galaxy (dont have the nerve to try gigantic yet) Brad, if you see this and can give me pointers on what I should look out for aside from patching to 1.02, I'm all ears. (waiting for this 80+ meg download to come down) SeanB

Thanks for the quick reply. No I don't run a firewall on my computer. I turned that feature on WinXP off because it caused problems with AIM when I was sending a file to a friend of mine. I'm going to patch the game and see if that helps. At least I know something isn't completely right. Thanks again for the quick reply. SeanB

I try to submit a metaverse score and it drops me to the desktop. I check metaverse and only see the first game I did up there. How can I tell immediately if I got a successful save or not? I wish I knew if my score actually went through successfully.

I wonder why his improvements are taking so long (the reviewer's) I mean in this game I'm currently playing right now, between Rubicon, and Sol, I'm cranking the MAJOR civ, trade, racial wonders at the rate of one every 3 to 6 turns. Most other improvements on those two planets take about 15 to 20. The big problem I'm running into is that I got too many planets kicking out stuff too quickly. Not to mention I'm making money. I didn't realize until recently how huge of a difference i

Hello everyone... I saw at least one case not including myself where there was trouble with the CD key. It turns out that my CD key had something like xxxxxIxxxx in it. The problem is, on the CD case, the I looks almost exactly like a lowercase l, or a number one. If this is you, use the upper case I (as in India) where you see something like that. Hopefully this solves some of the CD Key problems SeanB

Guys.... something to keep in mind. You are talking lowercase L versus 1. Have you ever thought about using an upper case I (eye). I had a similar issue with the CD key and it happens that it was an upper case eye. Frogboy....question for you guys. Why for the life of us have CD keys coming out where the letters look that confusing? Most CD keys generated stay away from 1, l, I, and such exactly for the same reasons we're seeing in this thread.
