Some cheese when UP votes not to attach freighters as in http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GS&id=39563 by Citizen Cataleptic: "Could be stopped by simply ignoring freighters in a stack when attacking. Ignore frieghters (and other zero-attack ships) when invading a planet."

What would happen if I would colonize a bunch of class 2 planets (maybe 10 or more) and sell them to the AI? I was just wondering if the AI would fall for that? Would be kinda cheesy if you get money/ tech and give them some really lousy planets.
Admittedly, when one game generated two I-Leagues and a Fundamentalist from one race, I figured my destabilization spending was doing *something*.
LOL maybe I should start spending some money that way LOL
Nope...no problem here. Maybe try a clean install :notsure:
Stand alone version 1.02; medium galaxy, above normal diff. After capturing an enemy planet (torians) I can build dreadnoughts at that planet, even though I don't posess the required technology. This is probably the case because the planet keeps working on the project it was working on. ps I also didn't get the dreadnought technology as a result of capturing that system. So this really is a bug.
[hmm i shouldn't be posting three things in a row] What i am about to say is totally NOT important, but it would be fun for an upcoming expansion pack: A totally new race :D ! Or maybe even two or three new races. So you can choose a maximum of 5 opponents from several others. I know this is a lot of work because you guys give every race an own AI algorithm but it would give the game even more appeal. Keep up the good work guys!
In response to: #5 by Citizen Phaedyme - 4/19/2003 8:37:44 AM "It doesn't. I've had a few games now in which the transports get 20 attack, and, well, they tend to die fairly quickly either way." Well, hehe I kicked the Torians ass with my combat transports (all loaded with 1 million people LOL ). It is good though that they can't attack planets when there are still defenders hovering over them, or else it would have been a very short game. Is it an idea to give them more d
- rally points for ships (as seen in http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=44652 )
I like the game too. The AI is intelligent on every level and the game is exiting and has a lot of humour. Also the devs really listen to complaints about the game and try to make it a great experience for the gamers. As always the game has some bugs and needs some tweaks, but overall it is a nice game. If you want my opinion: there is actually only one thing i can say. The game is just, plain fun. You can always wait for the demo, but if i were you: next time you walk into a
Totally agree. Especially on the larger maps.
All suggestions to the pre-game setup - option to turn on/ off the anomalies. - option to make the map without borders. So flying from the right side out of the galaxy makes your ship appear on the left side. Same thing for up and down. - slider to set the likelyness of random events from never to very very frequent.
In response to: #103 by Citizen Vorlin Varelse - 4/19/2003 2:32:24 AM "quote" Some of the minor races seem to be immune to defection due to influence. In my last game I had the Scottlingans and Caranoids both massively influenced (over 3500 influence in the sector), and for hundreds of turns they never budged. The Alexians I took down in a normal fashion, so it's not all minor races that are immune. "/quote] I had the same. Is this a bug, or are the Carinoids prog
Stand alone version 1.02; medium galaxy, above normal diff. - defeating Arceans with influence, nothing was mentioned (no sceen or anything). Same happened with the torians, who were the last ones in the game. So it might be for all races (not sure about that) - if you conquered a race, it is still possible to make peace with them and get tribute (for many turns). Tribute over a number of turns should STOP when you don't keep your agreement or the race dies. So if i get 20 bc f
In my opinion this event is too strong. But I believe the maximum for this event in 1.01 was +20. Was the +10 you had the maximum?
I am now playing version 1.02, but I do remember that I had this event in 1.01: "UP council vote: transports are not safe etc. etc. how strong should they be?" In my game the majority voted to give them maximum protection. The result was that they became STRONGER than dreadnoughts?!!?? And much cheaper by the way...... I hope they tweaked this event in 1.02. Can someone tell me if this has happened, because I am playing 1.02. at the moment, but didn't get the event yet
Is it the new version? Report it in the bugs thread.
Ok... what about a website :p
Euhhh NO! :D LOL :D hehe... i will be signing up for the 'european' empire. Good luck!
Already reported in http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=42311 But it still exists in new version: [ps this might not be a bug, but it is strange the least] In my last game (version 1.01) I had a huge tech advantage and decided to totally halt my research and start spending my money on military items. The next turns I saw the research graph take a deep dive to almost 0, while I am sure I still had all the best techs. I think the research graph shows how much each empire is
Seen in http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=43638 What about a trade embargo options in the diplomacy screen, so you can convince the AI players to stop trading with a certain empire.
"would be a nice suggestion for an additional feature: trade embargos -> prevents a race from creating trade lines with you." Sweeeeet! I like it. Especially if you can also stop the trade relations when they are already established. And also ask other races to stop trading with a certain empire!! But I guess your relations with that empire will not really improve, hehe.
hmm counsil should be council...
Looks like fun, joining the EU empire! But I think we should have a UN counsil so we can vote on going to war against other empires LOL
Why would you want to do that? It benefits you as much as it benefits them..... at least that's what i thought
But Ash: In your opionion (or anyone else who knows the answer), do the graps represent correctly the game status?
