I joined very soon after the site went live. I joined because I was already an Object Desktop subscriber and the skinning sites were either getting lame or disappearing. I started skinng Windows 3.1 with a program called Aporia, from Tool Technologies. It later became Wintools before disappearing at about the same time Windows 95 was released. I stumbled along with the generic Windows 9x look for a couple of years and discovered Litestep and some other replacement shells round about 199

Outstanding. Happy birthday. I've been here all along and I'm sure not going anywhere. I want to thank all the poeple who have kept this site running and all the great artists who have given of their time and talents to brighten my computing environment. My sincerest appreciation, one and all!

Jeff was a truly great electric jazz-man. I own 6 or 8 of his albums and play regularly and hove done so since seeing Roadhouse in the theaters. I am very sadden by this news. And I hadn't heard about Buddy Miles either. Another great loss to the world of music.

I couldn't count how many jobs I have had. However I have had three basic careers in the 32 Years since I graduated Highschool. 1. Radio Announcer 5 years 2. Record store manager 7 years 3. IT 18 years Oh and professional student for, well let's see...6 years of random undergraduate to get my BA, and only 3 years to get my MBA. And most of those 9 years were while working full time.

This is why I have been a happy and continual Stardock customer for almost 10 years now. In fact I think it will be ten years in November or December of this year. For heaven's sake look at my Wincustomize mebership number. Anyway I am not only still happy with the products but am happier all the time. Sure there are bugs and rough spots as versions get revved through test cycles but that's life in the beta world. And I had happily forgotten about Component Manager. SDC is bul

Once again we see an exhibition of an incredible grasp of the twin concepts of prioritization and allocation of limited development resources. On a tangent, Chaos (entropy) is inescapable. Thermodynamics and all of that. That which we cannot change...

I've been runnihng Vista as my only O/S for over two years now, Yes I found it stable enough for me tastes even in beta. Most problems were even then just the typical beta annoyances not truly show stoppers for me. The laptop system on which I was running it went all wanky on me so many times that I got HP to replace it with band new hardware in October of 2006. Thw new system came with XP Pro and I got the option to upgrade to Vista Business for free. That's right I have both XP and V

Everytime I boot my computer Cursor FX loads my cursor theme fine, but as other programs load the custom cursor disappears. Whaqt happens is that dfuring the boot process my windowblinds loads without any transparency at all, then during the loading of my auto loading programs it switches to transparent. When this hapopens the cursors revert to the standard Vista cursors. I then have to go to task Manager and close cursorfx.exe. Doing sdo then causes TaskMan to stop working. After all

I have this laptop but with a Core 2 Duo T7200 and the 1680x1050 17" screen and absolutely love it. I have had it for 14 months and it still plays every game I have tried on it. Even Hellgate London, which has a pretty inefficient engine, runs on it pretty smoothly though I did have to kick down the graphiccs settings a little. Having said that I wouldn't be surprises if you could find a new DV9000 series for about $800 of so on Christmas sale. I thnik $1000 used is too much.

First PC was a Tandy TRS-80. 4K or RAM and a cassette tape for data and programs. Purchased in 1979, Then Kaypro 4 (CPM), 64K, and two 120 K single sided 5.25 floppies. 1982 Then kaypro 10, running CPM from a 10 MB hard drive. 1984 Leading Edge Model D, 8088, 640K CGA and MGA. 1985 Then a string of system I built myself starting with a 286-10 in 1988 all the way through the current Ahtlon 64 3400+ that my boys use. I've long since lost track but guessing somew
