Anyone out there trying to dual boot Vista 23 and 64 on the same partition? Or is that not possible? Just wondering because I have a Core 2 Duo and am currently running Vista 32 but was thingking about trying Vista 64 as well. I know you cannot upgrade 32 to 64 but could I force Vista 64 into a different folder and not trash teh Vista 32 install?

Oh, I forgot to include version info for Logon Studio. I was already running 1.00.002. Before I did the remove and reinstall.
I just started getting this error when trying to apply any logon with Logon Vista. The error is an unhandled exception within the .NET framework when trying to replace the file imageres.dll. This error did not occur a week ago, the last time I applied a logon. I have removed and reinstalled the application. If I try to load the default logon the screen goes back to logon but the last Logon Studio image I loaded comes up, not the Vista default. I Fianlly went into the System32 folder and
I almost never run dreams, but this one would definitely be on my computer! Really nice, even if you composited the images.
Velkommen, and Molten is very hot.... Sorry couldn't resists
Thought I would share this Vista SP-1 compatibility issue. Yesterday I was doing some testing with Vista SP-1 beta 1 and discovered that all three widgets in the R.I.P. suite fail to run under the service pack. They run just fine on the same system before the upgrade, but none will launch either from the Startup or when executed manually.
"I can fix that hump." "What hump?"
It's great. I love watching it progress this way, too. BTW: Any chance of a vertical taskbar?
Avant Browser on Vista, which like Maxthon and others, runs on the IE7 DLL stack. One in a while I find a page that doesn't load right, like Netflix for some reason, then I use Opera or Firefox depending on the whim that hits he at the time.
Well done. Much smoother and so far I haven't had any dreams that won't run.
I've been using Vista exclusively for over a year, and off and on for a year before that and I think it is really good. I won't deny issues, but every O/S I have used has issues, whether from Microsoft or not. There are things I don''t like about Vista, like the lack of a toolbar in Explorer windows. But you can always get a third party app that has that sort of thing in it. Nvidia driver issues were a real pain for quite some time but they have gotten more stable over the last 6 months or so an
In the early 1990s I worked for an extremely large software vendor. They only bought three brands of computers at the time. Toshiba for laptops, Dell for reliable generic desktops, and Gateway for users that needed lots of performance and expansion capabilities. Back then Dell was always slower compared to other companies and Gateway was almost always a little faster for the same CPU. Gateway sort of created the market niche that eventually become the home of Alienware and other gamer/performanc
After installing make sure you use the rebuild skin list function. This brought back the skins that appeared to be missing! I really like the new UI in this week's build. I do however think I've seen a reoccurance of a problem I had on early builds for Vista. Periodically when I reboot I don't get transparent taskbar. When thius happens I have to reset to Vista Aero. Then if it loads with transparency I can switch back to what ever WB skin I want. Sometimes though when I reset to Aero i
I'm embarassed to admit I clicked on the link... and now I just feel, well. . . somehow SOILED
I have built my own PCs since 1988. The last prebuilt I bought was a Leading Edge model D purchased in January 1985. I still buy prebuilt laptops however.
I just want to tell you all how cool it is to watch this coming together this way. The process is as enjoyable at the end product will unquestionably be. Thanks for both. BTW: Is this being built in/for version 6?
The first beta on SDC didn't want to load correctly, but I did the set to Aero, reboot, set to the skin I really want loop and it then was fine. I have not had to do that process since the first update from 5.5 to 5.9/6 beta. Also some of the customizations didn't seem to work realy well that first build but since I haven't stumbled across any issues. Having said that I haven't run any real comprehensive tests.

I am still using a Umax Vista Scan S6E SCSI flatbed scanner that I bought at Egghead in Bellevue Washington in 1996. 600x600 DPI 24-bit color and not CCD. It still produces beautiful scans of everythign from photos to three dimensional objects such as lead miniatures I like to paint. I also have two Hitachi Super Scan 21 inch monitors I bought at the same time that work like brand new. One is an extra and is now used as a Hidef monitor the other has been in constant service since it wa
I've given up trying to run Dreams at all. Sigh. Also 163.11 caused some reverse color pixelation in a couple of games I play quite regularly, such as the Dawn of War series, and if I remember HL2 had some reverse coloring as well. I took them off after about an hour or so and rolled back to 160.05. I have grabbed 162.18 and 162.22 to try this evening. Though I am skeptical at best.
I probably change my wall twice a week or more so just about every type shows up sooner or later. Really depends on my mood. I've taken to using the completely transparent vista skins just my WB skin goes with whatever wall I'm using on any given day.
The secrets are good partition management and boot manager software. BootIt is very good as is Acronis Disk Director. And of course you have to be careful. There are also EXT2/3 file system drivers for Windows so that you can get to the Linux partitions. Most Linux varients now come with NTFS support built-in, thouhg many are read only since read-write is problematic at best. Using a combination of BootIt and Grub I have been able to run Mepis Linux, Vista, XP and MAC OS-x86 on the two
If you set the Taskbar/Start bar to always on top it will automatically reduce the work area of the desktop. I have not seev any sort of hack to stop that except for removing the check on always on top, which op course doesn't do what you want either. Some applications store their previous location in the registryy when they are closed. For one that does so, you could possibly go in and edit this data to have it launch under the Taskbar but an application wirtten to the MS spec is suppo
