In one game that I played, it was practically a galaxy wide war with the Dregin, Altairan, Torian and Yor fighting the Arcean. No, I didn't change the alignment and the setting was on normal. The Torians and the Altairans were getting beat up pretty badly and I was helping these two out by supplying advanced ships. I couldn't fight since the Arceans were out of range. So I set up shop to crank out battleships and sent them to the two races. Since this is a thread about the Torians, I

Some time ago, I came across an event in one of my game that definitely got a laugh from me. LOL When I read the description, I was amaze to see a reference to a kid's show, Pokemon. I'm wondering what other event that seem to point to some show or books are the waiting to show up.

Thanks for the info about setting the Resource slides (Mil/Social/Res) to 60/20/20. I saw it mentioned in a few places and gave it a try. Works like a charm. :) It was playing with the Tax rate that I needed some insight. Now, I'm more comfortable with that thing. The spending rate tactics were a blast. :) Beasts me having to crank that Mil slider to 100 and not be able to do any Research or Social projs. I know some had said to grab Universal Translator, first and in gener

I'd also like to know more about growing my population. I know that if I can get at a minimal a class 19 for Earth then I'm in the game. It seems the better the planet, the better the growth potential. My concern for now is finding that right level for Tax and Spending rate. I've also fiddled with those resource slide and I think that I fiddled too much :( Wound up in a debt and the only way out is with a Spend of 10%. My Military spending is 206bc I had earlier did a quick

I came across a couple of threads on setting the tax rate and spending rate; along with setting up the Mil/Social/Research slider. Thought I'd try it in a Gigantic galaxy with the AIs set to Normal for all 5. I had initially set the spending at 100% and the Tax at about 55% which set my morale to just above 53. The three sliders below this was set to 60/20/20. Someone had mention a setting of 75/25. What were those for? I'd have thought you'd want some kind of spending fo

Just wondering, how do I go about assessing what would be an acceptable tech trade with the AI? I was trying for Corvette Tech and traded Battle Armor for it. Got a "This is a fair deal, HOW??" I was looking to see what the AI would consider a fair deal but just don't see it.

After a number of years, I can finally sit down to enjoy one of my favorite games. :D Brad, you did a wonderful job with bringing this game over to the Windows platform. I already had my first game and was really enjoying the differences between the old OS/2 version and the Windows version. There is enough similarity that I was able to use my old strategy of mass colonizing to get a sufficient base of operation to deal with the others. BTW, I had the level for each race set to "Normal" I hav
