Actually, Iran does have a legitimate reason for wanting peaceful nuclear energy. They are economically better off exporting their oil and natural gas than using it themselves. The US has a "special" way of picking the President. Each state has a certain number of electoral votes. The candidate with the highest percentage of the popular vote in each state wins the electoral votes for that state (except Maine, which goes by district plus 2 at large votes). A candidate must have a majority of the electoral votes (270) to win, otherwise the House of Representatives decides.
