Aldar
Played a quick Maso game last night, think I am going to try a smaller map tonight to see how much it affects the scoring.
It is particularly useful when the 'colonization' phase ends and you want to switch from building colony ships to constructors.
Feel free to join the Republic of Aldar
Methinks Pontius needs a hobby.
If you become tired of the Mercenary life and are looking for a permanent home, come on over to the Republic of Aldar. All we offer is a pretty cool logo.
If you go with the mulle theme there is already a website: www.mulletsgalore.com
Didn't realize that Constructors had maintainance costs. I have learned my new thing for the day :)
Look for a sector where they have one colonized planet and there is an uncolonized 14 (13 will work too). Build a couple of cultural starbases and then colonize the planet. Buy Soil Enhancement, Habitat Improvement, and News Network. That should be enough to flip the planet and give you a foothold. You may need to build another couple of maxed culture starbases to get that first planet to flip depending on how strong they are.
You definately want to move up to higher forms of Government as quickly as possible.
I usually build a 'paper tiger' fleet of Corvettes right off the bat to keep your military rating up. The ships usually never get used, but the appearance of a strong military usually keeps them off your back. They make excellent gifts towards the end of the game. I would be interested in having a try at your saved game, send it to [email protected] [Message Edited]
Aldar will never abandon the Republic. Given the Metaverse wandering that has been going on, I suppose I should switch it to invite only.
Oops - forgot the shameless plug: Feel free to join the Republic of Aldar. [Message Edited]
As you get towards the end of the game, it is definately possible to end up with planets that are not building any social improvements. At that point, you might want to consider setting the social slider to about 10%. It is not so much 'wasting resources' as it is 'not building things you don't need'. Social improvements cost money in maintenance, if your morale is already over 80%, you probably don't need the added cost of building a Harmony Generator on a planet. On the military si
See if you can get any bribe any of the other races into attacking the Fundamentalists, it might take some of the heat off you long enough to build up a military presence. ...and a shameless plug - feel free to join the Republic of Aldar.
The following is a paid recruiting announcement: Queue sappy music. Do you feel betrayed? Lost in a sea of indifference. If you are looking for a stable Metaverse home where your contributions will really make a difference, check out the Republic of Aldar. We care. End sappy music. republicofaldarnotresponsibleforlostsleep
You have never celebrated the Aldarian Republic Day.
If you are looking for a stable Empire where your contributions will make a huge difference, please consider joining the new and improved Republic of Aldar (now with 25% more flavor crystals).
The new and improved Republic of Aldar will provide you with a stable Metaverse home...
Wow!!! Looks like it was an interesting weekend in the Metaverse. If anyone is looking for a stable place to contribute - I guarentee you will never go to the Metaverse and find out that the Republic of Aldar has disappeared.
Built a new starbase in Drengin owned sector and it showed up as a red '+' on the minimap.
Too funny - I was also a vampire. And Saturday was definately one of those 'I'm never drinking again' days. :CONGRAT:
:CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: Please note that we have changed our form of government to better accommodate our dramatic growth. This date forward shall forever be celebrated as "Republic Day" and celebrated by wearing disguises and behaving badly. :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:
I'm hoping to get a little play time this week. Good luck with the crippling game!
