Hey man this game has too many way too powerful things. Resources: Way too powerful, I pass them up in the game and park a 1/0 cargo hull nearby. If the AI takes them I destroy his base then give it away and destroy it again. There should be a resource destroyer gun so I can destroy them all, once and for all. Bonus tiles: Who needs them? If I get a planet with bonus tiles I destroy the colony and find a pq 4 with no bonuses. Ther

I believe that regardless of what changes you made playing as a particular race, when the race reverts to AI status it reaquires all of the standard attributes. In other words you cannot set the preferences, politics or appearance of a race unless you choose to be that race.

have you even played this game? Are you kidding? I am all for the changes that make the AI play more like a human and I have no problem with you or anyone else syaing what you want in the game. Do you have a problem with me saying I like it the resources as they are? If they leave them alon

I mainly want the game nuances to stop being changed and leave the changes to the mods. Surely there is a way to mod the game to allow multiple upgrades with 1 constructor. The changes up to now have been dramatic and have required some big changes in strategy. I can't fault any change that makes the AI play more like a human or to eliminate a bug but enough with the minor details. I have also had pet ideas that I have left behind

The resources are perfect the way they are. If you feel over-empowered with the resource you can sell it to the AI or you can leave it undeveloped. As long as there is an alternative to what you see as an overpowering advantage, there is no reason to impose your masochism on everyone else.

just played my first game with the new beta. Seemed very smooth to me and the AI is definitely getting smarter with every release. I can still win on Tough but I can no longer stay ahead in all categories.

I tend to play peacefully as well but you still need production. Being the strongest or near strongest militarily makes it possible for me to stay out of wars. I watch the relationship screen and if somebody gets cool or wary it is usually because I am falling behind in military. So, I crank up the war machine and in 10-12 turns I am back on or near the top military-wise and the relationships are usually. a notch or two better.

I have read that some of the devs have long wanted to add stargates to the game and the only thing stopping it is figuring out how to make the AI use them properly. If the AI can't be programmed to use the gates intelligently it would wreck the balance of the game

what sort of organisation meets every 50 years? Perhaps an organization consisting of leaders who are functionally immortal, as may be possible in the 23rd century. I am content with the weeks being months but if you must have an explanation for population growth years are necessary. But wa

In the 23rd century the word week actually means month. There is some confusion as to how a week became a month but it is rumored that it had something to do with expanding on the daylight savings time idea.

Geeze, it seems simple to me. When you have your spending slider at 100% you are operating at full capacity. If you have money left over it is because you do not have enough factories and labs to use the funds. Think of it like this, if you have 100 factories and 100 labs that are working 24 hours a day you may run out of production capacity before you run out of money. The solution: Build more factories and labs. When your per turn income i

Also a lot of the crash reports are coming from people that have buggy computers. In addition to outdated drivers there are malware problem, computers with over 80% of disk space used and barely met system requirements. And then there are the buggy users. Like someone said there is no bug free software. I would like to know how many that are having problems are running Norton AV.

I had something similar once. I scrapped the starport and bought a new one and it was fixed. My problem was a little different in that I could select a ship to build but when I left the planet screen it would not stay in production. The planet list screen said there was no starport but there was.

You collect x dollars in revenue (tax, trade, tourism). The first thing that is paid is maintenance. What's left is spent on military, social and research in the proportions that you have set with the sliders. If you have grown your population and built econ improvements you will collect more revenue than your factories, starports and research facilities can spend. The excess goes into your treasury. The more factories you build t

It seems to have something to do with your overall influence. They can be very resistant until you research up the cultural conquest branch. Once you have colored up about 60% of the map they will often start falling like dominos. It has also been said that there is a roll each turn on a heavily influenced planet but I have seen planets with -5 flip and some with -60 not flip so I am not sure how or whether this algorithm works as it is inte

With the changes in the beta versions my building strategies stay in a state of flux. When they settle on a final version I will put more thought into it I play too many smaller map games to ever have much space problem and I diversify a lot of planets. I build econ capital always on my highest PQ planet with at least 5-6 money buildings. Picking my Mfg capital planet used to be easy but the new economy protocols are making it more difficul

I am a culture player and I haven't built a culture starbase in over a month. They are way too expensive now They piss off the AI if you build them where they will do any good Influence mining and culture tech is far more effective. Overall, I just haven't needed them to win. I really preferred thr GC1 starbases that could be diversified to do econ, military and culture on the same base. I also enjoyed flipping mino

There is a very long thread on this subject and while you bringing it up again isn't a problem it was beat to death in that thread and it has been clearly stated that it may happen but will not be a priority. That probably means about 2 years minimum

Yes, I have seen this. Got an AI planet last night with one starport and one building. Deleted the one building and found that the starport remaining would not work. Had to demolish and rebuild. I was also getting planets without starports and yes a lot of wierd overbuilding. I think part of it may be a scorched earth strategy by the A when they know the planet is going to fall. Then, I may be giving them too much credit.

I have seen some bad starting positions but lack of home world bonus tiles is worse than any position problem. Just because a map is covered with colors it doesn't mean they have colonized the planets. They start with one just like you and they aren't that smart about it. They will colonize 4-5 planets starting with their low quality home system world and then go for the closest worlds without a care for quality. They will then stop colonizi
