Happy holidays...everybody, My Christmas has been spend in bed with a fever and a sore throat, :sniff!: but it seems i'm getting better now. Works has been a bitch the last year and the last month i have been sick on and off. When i look thru the last year, the only things worth remembering has been with friends, family or my girlfriend. Which makes me think about how i use my time....hmm... i'm pretty sure i'm not gonna change and start to work less, spend less tim

http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/59.htm The above link is to JavaScouts homepage (an extremely good site for GalCiv). It will show you all the required techs. Just try to check that you have all the other "required" tehcs too.
Also it would be nice with an automatic "add to starbase feature" for which one could specify if the rallypoint should add cultural/military or economic modules to starbases. It is a lot of unnecessary work creating culture bombs or mining resources. The game should be able to take the best pic.
I'm note quite sure if this is what your asking for but on the options menus righthand side there is a possibility to turn of some of the prompts
As far as recall there are 3 things that will make your planets defect: 1) Low morale (i think its planet with moral less than 32). Planets can defect to the I-League, unless the I-league has already been killed earlier in the game 2) Culture flipping. If the AI influence in a sector is more than 200 points higher than yours, there is a risk your planet will flip 3) Fundamentalist. If you have an evil Alignment (this can be seen on your domestic screen by clicking on societ
The best of luck to you Mayito. I am once again sick (seems to be a little to often), but since it is Christmas tomorrow i plan on getting well right away. Merry Christmas everyone
A little more in regards to Altarian Prophecy - editor: There are 3 new "modules": map editor, scenario editor and campaign editor. The Map editor will let you create maps from scratch -I can't find the possibility to make player starting positions (stars) The scenario editor will let you: Make teams Decide universe wide settings such as level of moral, influence, pop growth, research rate, starbase limits etc. Decide which "rules" should be
Well the Altarian prophecy beta is up (I think for drengin.net only, but not sure). I have started playing around with it and the possibilities to create scenarios looks really good.
My first sightings Map Editor: I can't see the "borders" of the universe. Seems i can zoom out infinitly. I general i'm having trouble navigating the "map" (I am missing scroll bars and universe "borders") Scenari Editor: Succesful create "team"-scenario and loaded it. Tests done on teams: Ok - You cannot attack team player Ok - Tried to ally with AI of another team, then attack other AI from same team to get them to break alliance (no such luck) Bug
Sirian - i hate to say this but....i've come to the point where i almost agree with you on all accounts
I'd say you didn't quite understand what was going on in that game
I did see why this was so significant in this type of game (one planet), but i still think it's a possible exploit. Bottom line...i was hoping for an easy way to achive those goals, but i can see your points (i haven't given up on the idea tough - just need more time at the drawing boar
I know a 32 year old that wishes he still got an allowance. Working sucks.
That just plain unfair in bring home the pay-check to my girlfriend and she gives an allowance (now and then)...she told that was normal....hmmmm am i being played here :p
JaxomCA - i think we pretty much agree. As i said the best would - no doubt - be to make the AI react better to human moves (eventhough i think it is hard to do) LDiCesare, My point about lowering the part of the bonus, that is free production, is based on my own playing style. I grab 2-3 tech ressources and mine them, this makes it pretty easy to out-tech the AI. I'm not suggestion lowering the free part to nothing just maybee 50% instead of 66%. In regards to influen
I guess the holidays are upon us....(or in other words - bump)
Sirian, I agree with you that i would be a good idea to
change "AI Tech Victory" to a LOSING condition
I also agree that the best thing would be to make the AI able to respond better to Human behavior, but my point was to try and come up with a simple solution to what i see limiting my own gameplay (score-wise) Regarding tech victory - you say you disagree, but i don't quite under stand why you think this change would be bad. I wanted to make it har
Just to be perfectly sure... After clicking the update button the download should start and when it is done it should say something like "install complete". From Stardock central you should be able to see which version is installed (in the second column "installed"). What version does it say when look there ?
That why you don't see the tech tree, i believe it came in v. 1.11 or v1.12. You should upgrade, did you get that Stardock central working ?
If you have enough cash and it is only some or planets taking a moral dive: On your planet screen, click details, on the bottom of that screen should be a slider which lets you spend money to boost morale on that planet, but its an expensive way to do it. I only use it if that planets has fallen a bit behind on improvements and "it needs help" to catch up.
Ctrl+N i believe
I know we have just gotten 1.13 and should be playing our asses of, but still...i have been thinking about this for a while and can't keep it back any longer. I would like to be able to go for cultural and tech victory without it hurting my score. Apart from wanting the nerfing of scores for these 2 victory conditions removed i would also like a change in gameplay to make it harder to achive these 2 victory conditions. Tech victory/Beyond Human: Si
Lord Megatron, thx for those "fix-it" (bugs in 1.13) instructions you have made.
Regarding v1.13: 2 issues have been reported: 1) The tech three has accidently been changed (shouldn't be) 2) You will experience CTD when 2 specific UP issues comes up Lord megatron has posted a zip file with instructions on how to fix these http://files.galciv.org/v1.13.zip
PLEASE, PLEASE PUT A HOTKEY TO JUMP STRAIGHT TO THE TACTICAL MAP
Isn't that F9 or did i misunderstand your question ?
It is aslo a good idea to try and get tech boosting improvement, tech's and ressources. Only 1/3 of those tech boost/improvements counts as expenses, the other 2/3's are for free. This can be seen when you look at your planet screen. Your spending for the planet will be displayed like this: Military(x+y) Social(x+y) Research (x+y) All the y's doesn't isn't added to your expenses, but you still benefit from them.
thx :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: Lots of activity lately, from quite alot of players
The new patch is here - well in time for christmas :CONGRAT:
