If you install SmartException from the Free stuff tab on Stardock Central, it will generate a crash log called GalCiv.exe.cra. If it's being caused by a buggy codec, it usually reports which file it is, and then you can remove it. You can send crash logs to me at cbegle@s

The way i invade planets with large populations depends on whether or not i need the planet or just want to kill of the AI (terrorstar). I normally check the AI's stats on the diplomacy screen to see what soldiering bonus the AI has and compare that to my own. Then i try to figure out how many combat transports i need and blast a way. I normally use cheese-tactics when invading: Alpha-strike and send the AI to war before i attack, to make sure his planets aren't to well defende

I think the problem is that Stardock wouldn't want to give away the way annomylous scores are determined (for obvious reasons).
Perhaps to alleviate the problem, instead of playing through complete games with each mod, Brad & SD could establish permissable parameters for player-created mods.I.e., all outcomes to an event must be within "plus or minus X" to a given stat in the game. (For example, +/- 1 to +/- 5 for courage). Any mod meeting this criteria would be acceptable; and mod ex

Hi Orpon, Good to see you around again. Games news: The minors have started colonizing outside their home sector, the AI has gotten better at detecting your ships...hmm probably a few more tweaks, but i don't remember. The currenet version is a big buggy, but the word is that it should be fixed any day now. The really goods news is that version 1.2 is coming (expansion pack)- if you have the time check out this (the Galciv plan for this winter) http://www.galciv.com/index.asp?a

oh no not that, it is the...infamous crocodille ? :p Well i'm finally back on my feet, but after staying away from work for almost 3 days...the piles (of paper..yeah lets hear it for paperwork) has risen to unknown hights. I have gotten my laptop reinstalled and hope to submit a game tonight. See ya

No of course not ;p and that is i'm afraid not so likely, though it is alarming to see the alliance forming between the Jedi's and Evil ones. What wouldn't the Evil ones be able to do if they had the strenght of the Force. I think we Euro prefer the evilness of drowning our enemies in paperwork LOL

Sirian, great stuff...i no that you guys aren't that hot on scores, but still what you wrote made me interested in a theory put forward on the strats forum by someone (hmm...i can't find it) concerning how scores where determinated. The theory was that technology, economy and military score was decided by the area below your graph (for each of those) and when i checked with a few of my latest games it actually fit pretty well. Could that explain your military score (you had a pretty goo
"Milord, it pains me to say that was actually Episode 4. The Jedi are well known for mind tricks and they ran the second trilogy first to throw off those who do not know their ways," a cabinet minister responded
Great story LOL LOL [Message Edited]

Hmmm....well we started a war with the MWC and it seems the Jedi's have tried to take advantage of that. But they have found their borders threatend by the Euro ships. Then there is those darn pirates, never seem to be secure from them. The Spymaster sneaking in and out everywhere and at times like these we haven t got ships to spare to defend those traders. Well...guess thats just the cost of war.
