Hm. Well, let me answer the questions in order. 1) Was the movie any good? That depends. Do you like shallow, overacted, relatively plotless and deus ex machina special-effects extravaganzas? If you answered yes, this movie is for you! Or if you are under the age of say 14. If you'd like something with some substance that you won't quickly forget, a summer movie with more than just flashy computer animations and melodramatic interactions between characters (like when Storm

coffeefreak: As incoherent as your post was ( =P ), I thought it important to respond. Yes, they would still be alive if they had criticized North Korea. They wouldn't have gone home. Seldom does a person leave that country planning on coming back, what with the state of economics there.

-- From #2, Camp Freddie I just find it odd that the comment 'Sometimes I feel ashamed that George Bush comes from Texas', which was later retracted, can cause such a stir in America. -- There are a couple of reasons for this. A lot of it stems from the American idea of patriotism. As you may know, a lot of American history, especially the early history and revolutionary times, contains a couple of men who would be considered patriots, lovers of their country. School children

I'm also not having any trouble trading for techs. I've even gotten the AI to let me out of a war (I had just terror stared one of their planets). But they pay me money. Maybe bc they're only on subnormal? I've only played two games and won handily both times, so I'm going up to normal now. We'll see if I have more trouble.

Please, if the technology victory is enabled for the computer, at least let there be an option where the human player can disable it only for the computer. I don't want to have to deal with a computer that can see the whole galaxy at the start of the game -and- can zap me by evolving to a higher being. Plus, if humans evolved to higher beings, wouldn't that mean that they would no longer need to worry about the aliens, and would just leave them alone or some such thing? That would be my thoug

Oh, BTW, sorry for posting on posts so old. I can't read through the whole thing in one day you know! :D Oh, and I agree with whoever's saying that if Communism were implemented in a perfect world, it would be the best system. "Somebody's tellin' da truth, praise Jesus!" No, but seriously, I would say this is accurate, though I would consider myself a conservative. Also, I admire those of you who are keeping a cool head about this and -not typing in all caps- since it h

I've been reading through the board, and I saw some funny, incongruous statements that I just had to pick on! ----- From #64, Verenti I live in Canada, and we spend 10 billion dollars a year on holding criminals. ----- From #75, Verenti "In this conversation, I'm not mad, I don't wish anyone harm except extreme conservitives, then I want you dead" ----- I want your country's ten billion dollars worth of criminals dead so that you can feed all your homeless peopl

I think one of the things you guys should avoid on the demo version is a turn limit. In the SE4 Demo, I was annoyed to no end by the turn limit, where my empire would just be getting ready to fight and I would have only twenty turns left to do anything. Perhaps this annoyance is what they were seeking, so that I would be annoyed into buying the game, but it had the opposite effect. I saw that I was already reaching the "micro-management critical mass," at turn 100, and I was just getting star

Hey, I have a laptop with integrated graphics, 240 MB RAM and a Pentium Celeron 1000. Will GalCiv run too slowly on my machine, or will it still work well? Have you guys tested it with machines not containing Pentium chips? Has anyone else had experience in this matter? I'm really interested in buying the game, but I'm a little leery about buying it until I'm sure it will run well. I bought Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind without trying the demo, and it runs at about 10 frames per seco
