This is Sensor Drone VP Blue Ocean with the night shift at W.C.a.r.i.E.l.f. 104.6, playing you the best anthems for a life filled with adulation of CariElf. To start us off tonight, I'm going to pull out a little alt rock flavor from Third Eye Blind, who recently released their new album, "Out of the Vein". So from Third Eye Blind, here's, "I Want You". " . . . Here I am and I want to take a hit Of your scent and it bit So deep into my soul. I want you, Oh, you do, y

"Fare thee well My own true love Farewell for a while I'm going away But I'll be back Though I go 10,000 miles 10,000 miles My own true love 10,000 miles or more The rocks may melt And the seas may burn If I should not return Oh don't you see That l

This *might* potentially be a stupid question, but I'm going to go ahead and ask anyway. If you trade a trade good to one computer player, is that computer player allowed to turn around and trade it to everyone else, or are you the only source for it? It would suck if you traded your good to one race and then that race got the benefit of spreading it out all over the place. I have the same question about techs. If you traded for a tech, can you turn around and trade it out to everyon

Sometimes, in biology class in ninth grade, someone would have their hand raised for a very long time before Ms. Bennett looked back and saw it. She was always writing on the board. When she finally did look back and recognize the person with their hand raised, they would sometimes have forgotten. She invariably said, "Well, it must have been a lie." I guess the long and the short of it is, if you can't remember where or why you sent a ship, it can't be that important, can it?

No true lady would sell things to her loyal subjects, which is why it surprises me not that the Pure CariElf has nothing on EBay. However, a lady might give out such trinkets were a subject to complete a quest. Are there any quests to be completed!? A quest, a quest, my kingdom for a quest!

Hey, you know, Brad's said he'll look into it, so let's back off and have a little patience. I think everyone here will recognize that the tone of this thread hasn't been exactly uplifting, so let's all back off and take a deep breath. Things we should especially avoid doing: giving Brad or anyone advice along the lines of, "You should listen to me." If you say that and he's not listening to you, he's not going to start, and if you say that and he is listening, it's just gonna make hi

I must admit, I did play it about 20 hours straight when I got it, but I haven't touched it since. It was perhaps the best RPG period I've ever played, but I'm scared what might happen to me if I go up a difficulty level. (Edited to say: "It" being SysShock 2 . . . I didn't realize there was a third page until after I posted. And to say I know that CariElf would never be a Shodan. Maybe a nice version . . . she can code very well . . .) [Message Edited]

"CariElf is trying to ally with the geeks (minor races in her opinion) to get the diplomatic power to get rid off Frogboy Wardell and thus conquer the Stardock-Galaxy." SHODAN of GalCiv. I thought I should mention that CariElf ROX my SOX (and every other piece of clothing in my dresser).

You can increase taxes safely? Maybe that's why I've been having so much trouble winning. I never go above 33 percent. =( I had been under the impression that raising taxes is never a good idea. Now, if I keep on coming this close to winning at 33 percent, maybe I can win at 45%! =) Better start another game soon.

New idea! Look at this. Cultural influence is how much people look up to your culture and think it's better than their own, right? And Diplomatic skill is your ability to convince people to trust you? Would people trust you if you broke treaties? And would people look up to your culture if it was led by backstabbing liars? How about giving any player that breaks treaty permanent -5% Influence and Diplomatic penalties. It wouldn't prohibit treaty breaking, but at the same time, it

I know it's a minor thing, but I thought I should bring it up, because it confused me. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem. When you change governments, you are given a "production" boost of x%. This is in fact an economy boost, not a production boost. This had me confused for a while. I thought, "Why should I switch governments just to get a production boost? I'll increase my spending instead." As it turns out, -that- is why I've been having a lot of trouble in my past coupl

One other thing. On a tiny map, I had a situation where there were three races left, and I had only three planets. The other two were at war with each other, and I had some wicked strong Battlehammers and a completely sick number of tech resources (three in a small map map, wtf? =) ). I was like, screw it, I can't beat them with my military so I'm going to tech up like crazy! I think when I finished I had something like +400% to technology, and I was waaaaay ahead of everyone else (nevermind

I absolutely love rangers. I picked the racial attribute and Universalists in all my games. Last game I had two Rangers that were absolute dynamo! They completely trounced the whole military of the strongest guy on the map, simply by hit and run tactics!

Perhaps one thing that could happen is you could be given an option on how long the war or peace would have to last. If the person who is getting goods does not uphold his end of the contract, all technologies, monies, starbases, ships, trade goods, etc. revert to the first player, with perhaps a slight monetary penalty for the person who did not uphold their end. It might be difficult to code, though.

They've only done a total recalc once, and remember, the score is not the game. There is no fiasco (1.04 trade troubles aside . . . I think I'm gonna wait to update until I hear that's been fixed up . . .). I can understand why you're upset, though. I would be too, if I had had one of my games reduced to a score of 5. Speaking of which . . . better check that. [EDITED to say:] Wow my 1.03.100 games took BIG hits. =) I still rose in the overall scores though, I think. Better get on
