No Frills I made this map cause we seem to have shortage of submissions, and it felt like a map I always wanted. This edition is 6 player only, but future editions might expand. Basically you get nothing fancy as the name implies, just a plain old s

Lets keep posting till the patch arrives! I am excited about cap ship buffs! Also excited about the advent cap nerf :O Now to come up with a strategy for Akkan usage... My old strat was to send Marza to planet while colony frig single caps the Roid. I would have Modular construction before I build the Extractors... Now with Akkans I guess I can do drive by colonzing? Just colonzie the roid and head for the planet... cobalts en-tow for cleanup?
You missed or chose to ignore where I said before: The retail version would be $15 not $10. The $5 difference seems to be "the norm" for retail vs online prices. It's perfectly reasonable for the cost of the packaging/disk/manual.
I know for a fact that Retail stores will not carry the game if it is not at a lesser price than can be aquired online. This is why Stardock priced their direct sales for release of Galactic C
kryo is correct about the $1 million not being a lot. I would say however there are other factors. When a company like Stardock spends $1M to make a game, they will mostly spend it on Development. When Company like EA spends $1M on a game, they will spend 750k of it on Marketing! And you get what you paid for, a shitty game that's overhyped.
Just got another idea that I brainwashed abit about. Basis for this I head swimmign in my head for a months. It evlovned from some thigns we would do on stock 3v3 maps, where one player would colonize and build one structure liek a repair then abandon the planet for another player: Security Deployment Pact: Triggered by Envoy vessel - (Minor cost involved?) Spawns a constructor at allied planet, allows for building of Tactical structures for total of 10 Tactical Slots
I would like maybe an assortment of civilian structures that are kinda like wonders, only one can be built, and unlocked by some research, usually combination of Diplo+Civ or Diplo+Mil or Diplo+Security... They could bestow empire wide bonuses, that are extended to your allies via special treaties, or automatically in a teams locked game :O Here are some ideas how it would work! Restuarant of Eternity anyone?! How about +50% max allegience at this planet, +5% empire wide for t
Anonymous function would be good. That way for MP a player is assaigned an AI name until he is killed. Once a player dies he is revealed. WOuld make for fun FFA where you know the players ahead of time.
Im hoping Envoys will help you convert militia and find artifacts/bonuses without blind exploration.
I think this will come in Sins2 no doubt.
Exarian you are forgetting that DS also drains AM! Such that it prevents nonchanneling abilities from being used.
OMG OMG I MISSED THIS. Will this change maps? Also HC range increase is a great idea. Their short range made em pathetic melee rocks. With this change HC might even kill acapship! :O final edit I hope: I found nothing I didn't really like in the patchnotes, even the colonize nerf of Advent, seems waranted. But I agree with Amish's point, Egg colonize needs a BOOST. I posted a year ago and it was picked up many times, this abiltiy should spawn temporary constructors. This would
Excellent I made a submission. I do have one idea also, when you complie the map pack maybe ad somethign at the end of all the map names to designate the pack they came from? Just so the maps from subsequent releases don't get confused witht he old ones.
Close Encounters - OBS version Optimized for observing, this map is sure to give everyone what they been looking for! To observe simply set your team number to 3, team 1 and 2 are the combatants.
Ok so what is the deadline for first subimssion round? I so far got one map I wish to submit. It's not an original map but rather a modification of Close Encounters so that there is 10 players. 8 of the 10 start on dead asteroids with no possibility to make any money or otherwise interfere, no phase lanes. This allows for observation of 1v1 matches on a pretty decent map. I think this would be a good map to have by everyone, thus we can have some fun games where you can watch the action happe

Darvin I think that the creator of maps will chose his best maps to submitt. With a limit of maps he can submitt, he will think twice about putting in garbage maps. I don't think there will be that many map makers, well not at first anyways. In the long run we may reward the better map makers by allowing them more submissions.
Idea behind this is to offer better games. Once we know EVERYONE has the same pool of maps, we can host those maps without some sort of lenghtly preprocess. If you feel that there is too many maps, we can make some sort of a limit of 3 maps per creator.
He killed em with boredom.
Oh that would be the best I think also.
Darvin are you goign to be compling the map pack of all maps? if so let me know your email, I'll fix up my observer type maps and send em over!
Culture has its uses. With starbases it has become even more important. Yes it can be expensive, but it none the less remains pretty good tool when used properly.
Watching the game now Proletari. I must say the starting strats of all the players need work. Only Chose strat fits his starting position. dark blue went 2 Harmony, but then didnt need it, Bags went 2 military fast even thou he had a row of 3 roids, and could have gotten trade instead. And you, man 1 mil lab as TEC that's a new one... well i guess on some maps you might want the repair fast, but not on that map :/ 1 civ as TEC is a better strat, which Chose actually did. Ok i saw the
You know it could be the mod is having undesired effects ont he surrender subroutines.
Ahhh back in BETA or was it ALPHA even, labs were only 3 logistics. This kinda gave you a lot of strategy as to the best dispersal of structures. Also there were no Military and Civilian labs, only trees. All of them used same labs and it went up to 15 labs I think! Good times.
