Do I have to type in my serial number for the 3rd time to run the patch? Will a copy and paste work this time?

Perhaps the number of anomalies could be fixed from the start--although I would kind of like new ones. But perhaps better scanners would find more of them.
Yes, that was my second way. When you click on an improvement, it gives you the opportunity to buy it now. But you have to click again to see what the buy it now price. The initial click shows how long it takes to build it from scratch, not how long it will take to do the current improvement. I would like to see that and the buy-it-now listed on that immediate screen (after clicking on the improvement in the planet list). I know this is just a couple of
New ones don't occur, and star colour is related to PQ. What are the good colors besides yellow?
Sorry for the double posting. When I sent it the first one, the site gave me an error message saying that whatever I was doing didn't work. So I posted again.
Please save my arthritic finger. 1. About every turn, I go through the planet list by clicking on the planet button to see if there is anything I should quick-build. If something looks like a possibility, I click on the planet to see what the buy cost should be. That takes a click. Then when I go back to the planet list to continue my top to bottom search, I have to reclick the planet list and start at the beginning and click my way down to where I was bef

Does the games start with a set number of anomalies that stays the same? Or do new anomalies occur? This makes a difference when a send survey ships through an area. If there were new ones, I guess I would have to recheck. It seems like occasionally planets p.q. change. I saw my first inhabitable planet with a non-yellow star. A 26 pq. Nice.

The disappearance of troop transports has to do with the most fundamental elements of physics: string theory and quantum mechanics. With any finite object there is a finite probability that it will poof out of existence.
Yep, that fixed it. Auto-pilot is at the end. But if you fix it in the menu, you don't lose moves.
I always thought for a ship on auto-pilot, it moved at the beginning of the turn. That way if there were left over moves, "find" would show it. I am now noticing that auto-pilot only moves at the end of the turn and if it has left over moves, it loses them. Is that how it works? I saw an earlier post a month or so ago on this. If it does move at the end of the turn, I guess you have the option of turning off the auto-pilot and go somewhere else. But if I u
What's the best way to get your economy going? I guess population increase. I have never have thought that the commerce centers helped that much.
When you place components in new ships or redesign old ones, how about tooltips showing what the component is when you mouse over it. For users of the new patch: If you are using the new patch, make sure that in the options under "Interface" and "Ship Designer", you uncheck "remove functional components." Otherwise when you relook at the ship, say under "upgrade" you will be missing the components.
I used to build on decent sized planets--factory, factory, research, entertainment, and then maybe another factory or commerce center. Now with population more difficult and money hard to come by after you've spent your $5K, maybe I need to change the order. I take it its pretty critical to get your approval rating abvoe 75%? Maybe entertainment needs to come earlier.
They are buried in a different subdirectories. From Windows Explorer, look under "My Documents," then "My Games, " then "GalCiv2."

The same thing should happen when you are using the planet button that lists all the planets. Clicking on a planet causes the planet list to disappear. I often scroll through all the planets. If you look at one planet, the planet list is gone. Then you click on the planet button and you are back at the top. More scrolling. Clicking on a planet from the planet list should leave the list ready to pop back up and not set to beginning when you are done with the planet. No scrolling a
I have found part of my answer. In the preferences there is a part for ship building. Maybe this is new. This box was checked: remove functional components when upgrading. And so I unchecked it. It still doesn't work perfect. I think there should be tooltips when you mouse over the components saying what they are. Selecting them doesn't say what they are.
When I am building a new ship, the components are shown but once you've added the components, there is nothing other than the icons to indicate what they are. It's not the end of the world. But I would like to know whether I am the only one seeing this. Or not seeing this.
I loaded a game created by last official patch. I am now using the new patch. When I try to upgrade a ship, it doesn't show the ship modules. I noticed when I create a new ship, it shows the modules accross the top. When I saved the new ship and tried the upgrade, again the modules were missing. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

All of this sounds like it will slow down the game more. While I don't want to play a game in a night (I like large galaxies), some civ games can make getting to the interesting stuff a long wait. One good thing is I think they quickened up the research slightly. I play with researched set on the highest and I still find it too slow. But that's me, I guess.
Z and X are nice going from planet to planet. I still wish the planet list on the top left would not disappear when you are going through your planets, you go to a planet to change something, and then you want to go back to planet list, hit the planet list button--and it resets at the top and you need to scroll down to where you were last. Is there a full list of all new hotkeys--I see some more for ship development?
I appreciate Stardock's anti-piracy policy. But that serial number is something else. I don't remember having to type it in for the last two patches. I guess it was supposed to be saved in a file (is it sig.bin?). But this time I had to retype it when starting the game: 28 characters. I have it in a text file. But the program won't let you paste it in. 5 tries. Finally got it right.
