Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me. Rooooooarrrrrrr!!!! Threadzilla likes that song. Here's a threadzilla snack. HEHE.
Captain Jack Sparrow
O.k., so I take back the bit about 'far easier' to have a high military rating. In my current masochistic game, the Torians and Drengin tech-traded to Dreads just as I got Corvettes off the assembly line. My rating was not comparable. However, if the AI isn't that far ahead, I'd still vote for having a military rather than paying bribes, cost-wise.
I sort of play the strategy down the middle. I bribe untill dreads simply because there is no way I can keep up both militar
My favorite of the Westwoods was Red alert 1, the Russians. That woman that poisoned Stalan was classic... HEHE. She was my favorite Character. The Allied movies were lame. The Tiberian Sun Movies were pretty lame too on both sides.
Heh i was a game tester for westwood they sent me some stuiped game once and i didnt even play it heh.
LMAO. The only one I've never played is Red Alert 2. That's because it isn't down to 10 bux yet. And that's about what it's going to be worth given their track record.
Cool,I am going to play maso next, and i plan on having some fun with those AMMs if i can make it that far.
Just remember. To get that far, I recommend some bribes. Don't fret if you're behind on Tech. I never get ahead on tech till Evolution control. Bribes will have to do ya till you build up that military. Otherwise, you're in for a short game. Exchange as much tech with the minors as you can. The Alexians will give you cash. I consider them a bank. But they
Pirate Rob: Perhaps you should Join the empire of Pirates... G.R.O.S.S. I took a look at the thread underlord. That Mouse guy is pretty much trolling. I am one that believes there are truly only about 10 different video games out there and everything is just variation on the theme. 1. TBS Civ 2. TBS space game 3. First person shoot em up 4. Diety combat (warcraft, etc 5. Maze games 6. Fight games (Tekken, Mortal Combat) etc. But it doe
I have never taken out an Overlord with an AMM, but Avatars are my favorite prey!
It usually takes more than one amm unless you have some military starbases plus the upgrade techs. But the 2-3 amm's it takes to take out one overlord cost tons less in both building and maintenence than that one overlord when you consider you can build an amm on each of 3 planets and have them finisned before one planet can get one overlord finished. I usually get my overlords and excalib
I, like Cypher, usually go right to Dreads and AMM's leapfrogging the Death Knights. The Dreads are both more powerful, and cheaper. The Way I research, Dreads are only about 2 tech's away from BS tech anyway. And if I'm in a pinch, the Battleships are the ones I go for. DK's usually won't get finished before I get Dreads and can build the AMM's anyway. Once DN tech hits, the AMM becomes my mainstay thereafter. A few capital ships to back em up are all that's required. Boku savings on main
One thing I liked about the moo1 game was combat only at planets and fleet combat screens. Also, you could run the gauntlet with troop transports (Not easy with tons of missile bases but very dooable early with a few) and take over. It was one of my favorite Bulrathi tricks early. Moo2 ended up much more like Civ (deliberately so) and that was it's downfall imo. I liked that Moo1 was a different more macro sort of game than Civ. Moo3 tried to go back to that but flopped. I liked
JT Qwerk: SNOTTY, MR. SCHLOCK!!! CARTILAGE, BEAM ME UP QUICKLY!!!! THREADZILLA'S EATEN ONE OF THE RED SHIRTS AGAIN!!!.
How to figure out the galactic map. Step 1. Never access it. Step 2. Never think about it. Step 3. It fades from memory. Step 4. It then matters not whether we figure it out.
The 1.19 is a great Idea. Then if there are any minor bug issues, these can quickly be corrected and 1.2 released when they are.
I like that feature. When you have someone way down and weak, they'll beg for peace with everything they have. It saves the trouble of mop up and helps eliminate some tedium.
Hey, why don't we have a recruitment poster over in the "what's an Empire" sticky thread
Because Kit hasn't finished it yet.
Far as know you wont. You just need your code # to reinstall off your disk.
I like this thread better - welcome back Gerakken!
So do I. Say come on back Cypher. We can turn you back human again in a jiffy. Although somethin tells me your wife is going to be mean as a grizzly even after we turn her back.
27k MilVic.... Got to actually *use* Overlords in combat! Woot! Especially Overlords boosted by 2 full military starbases (Modules, not resources)! Conquer through attrition -> "store" constructors until 2 warships are ready, move them into the target sector and drop full military loadouts (starting with Interdiction and Repair), let the warships pound the defending assaults into smithereens, bring in da troops, defend new planet as the enemy dashes himself helplessly against the starbase
Woohoo! X-Com rocked! Except when the aliens would mind-control you...

Woohoo! X-Com rocked! Except when the aliens would mind-control you...
LOL I got that Psi-amp researched asap and then got rid of the weak azz psi guys. Of course that usually meant I had to tank a dang Colonel. I loved X-com. Boy Microprose was THE company for a time. Then they sold out.
..or maybe some nice alien will provide us with the technology to build a giant wormholey-gate type thingy..
Prior to an invasion no doubt... HEHE. Or we may just have discovered one at Giza and have it in Colorado... Amazing how easy this stuff is in science fiction. Actually the power requirements of such a device are beyond us. So even if we had one, we couldn't use it. I'm reminded of that Microprose game Xcom where you needed elerium 115 to power a
By the way, Stardock's having some Server problems or something and such so I'm keeping my traffic light.
Take care Matey!!!! I hope Dr. Quinn took very good care of you. But if you don't give her some, the bills are enormous!!!!.
Hmmm. I can't seem to pull up the empires forum....
(Hypocrisy comment arose from the idea of a Republic Empire. An Empire implies an Emperor, someone with extreme and absolute authority... something a Republic would not have. The Old REPUBLIC was removed by Palpatine in favor of his EMPIRE, for example!)
Awww well when it was the Republic (no jedi), they declared war on us for covertly, and not so covertly tampering with their senate elections. We smashed em and the jedi rose from their ashes) We've been friendly ever si
Boy the Trojans cleaned up in recruiting today. Boy!!!.
Wooohooo congrats Thelon. You're fine with chaotic evil there thelon. But you have to submit more evil games to get the very evil tag. No. What is the hypocrisy of the jedi? Should I read their thread?
