WTG GROSS! Knew you all could do it Pontius & Staffa deserve serious kudos. Interesting that the white council while only 9 members is in third. Interesting that they have all these other activities planned. I am subverting their galactic alliance by pretending to support their community endevours, thus guaranteeing they will be bogged down in paperwork and not playing (JK).

Here's another MWC thread. I agree, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I have deepest respect for all MWCers. Even if i sabotage their recruitment posts (like they do to ours). http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=67259#68437

Ah yes, American imperialism. Join MWC if: 1) You enjoy the idea of subjugating all other humans to your cause 2) There can be no other Empires 3) All other empires deserve to be mocked and beaten down 4) You actually believe everthing you read on CNN. 5) You voted for Mondale or Dukakis and thought Clinton was a rightous dude. Or, if you want to know how to really play, read the other threads, such as the Gross thread. I am not really avocating GROSS, but p

The only alliances i do is when I am standing over the smoking carcass of most of the AIs, while subjugating one of them. They tend to dominate you if you don't have a larger military, no matter what your diplomatic status is. Much like MOO actually.

Found on the MWC forums. http://idle.thehueys.com/midwest/modules.php?name=Surveys&op=results&pollID=2 Seems they have a particular hate for GROSS. Maybe their the ones who are really evil and crying inside, but not on the outside, where it shows. :)

Well that's shocking, the Euros are fighting again. Couldnt' decide who should be a Senator? Or was it the rotating presidency? ROFL. They have no idea of power. Their superior intelligence is no match for our puny weapons (Pinky & Brain quote). :) Speaking of quotes, I DLed the star wars mod, the Drengin spokesthing is Darth Vader. "I've altered the deal. Pray I don't alter it further".

Its funny or sad, but after 200 posts and 2 months, we still have this incredibly wasteful game system. I thought how MOO2 did this was perfect. Building 'trade goods' i think produced money, which was pumped back into your treasury. Certainly would help the situation I always have, running broke b/c your planet costs 2x more than it's revenue, for strange reasons I think due to the population size. Also have you noticed research is more costly than military/social? At end game, i could on

In the invasion tactic ini file there is such a thing (Morality effect) but it's not enabled; there are no number in it. I am guessing it was never coded in. Someday i'll have to try it. I've posted Core Detonation as an example. Tech_Requirement "" Image "Tactics_Core" Cost 500 LuckFactor 50 PreRequirement 0 PreReqValue 0 BonusType 3 BonusValueMin 40 Bonus

This is a play-by-play, feel free to skip if so inclined. My last Tiny was a hoot. I started in the middle (roughly), with another yellow in my system. I immediately sent my 1st colony to the sector below, and grabbed that yellow, thinking to take the one in my sector with my 2nd ship. No such luck, the Drengin got it. I quickly stopped producing military and rushed through tech, stopping at impulse driver (transports) and corvettes. Now i tried to take the cartinoids, who were in my 2nd s

Yeah, all trade goods are like this. Say you get grav accelerators. You can 'sell' this to majors/minors, but they can't redistribute it. Part of the license agreement :) Gotta love the injection of RL in galciv. Also i just noticed that you can't trade trade goods that you took from the AI via invasion. I am not sure if you get the bonus or not, i think you do. I hope you do. In my last game the wretched cartinoids developed 3-4 trade goods and had 20+ defense ships and 20M p

Well after three tiny games I now have 5 evil wins. I formally request Senatorship. Tinys are fun. I will strive to become Very Evil, but its hard on a tiny. Tinys are every bit as challenging as the other maps, and a good start is essential. So, basically, ctrl-n. Not my way of doing things, but either do that or lose. You can't really rule an empire from one stinking planet. Hat off. BTW, don't we want protection from good 10' radius?? We *are* the bad guys right?
[]quote test
It works in IE, not in my version of Mozilla. It automatically puts HTML markup around your quote, then sticks it in the message window (the thing you use to hack out your message). Also i note that alot of times the wordwrap is completely messed up. Both on IE and Moz.

What kind of frogs do you all have? I do frog research, I use Xenopus laevis, the African clawed-toed frog. People have them for pets. The great thing about them..well several: 1) They are incredible survivors, just give them clean fresh water and they can survive an incredible amount of trauma/infection 2) They are totally aquatic. All they need is water and food. 3) They are quite large, the females average 6-9" not including length of legs. 4) They live a very

Gamespot.com is also excellent. I pay $20 per year i think for it. It's a steal, considering all the reviews, previews, interviews, game guides, etc. It's not as good as CGW strategy plus was, but i can't even find that rag any more. Seems like most rags have gone the way of the dinosaur, ie PC Mag. Has anyone read it lately? It's for idiots or IT pros. Oh, another good thing about gamespot, in addition to the main reviewer, you have a bunch of reader reviews. So even if the main reviewe

Uhmm just my $.02 (as usual). I think this discussion is very interesting. I really don't care if the AI is "cheating" or not. I like understanding how things work, for example all this anomalities that people have reported in this thread. I think many people share my desires, which is why I post it. So, developers (Frogboy), I wouldn't see this discussion as a 'the AI is cheating' but more along the lines of 'how does the AI do that'? If the AI has a strategy that we
