Hi Rhannon, sorry for the confusion. The Upgrade pricing is already a discount, given for owners of Stardock products, offered at $30 instead of $50. So there is no 60% discount available on top of that already-discount of 40%. The 60% discount is on the price of Object Desktop which is $50, so it brings it down to $20.

Hi accrock, we found some issues with folks upgrading from Fences 3 who had some specific settings, and have a fix underway. Can you try choosing a *different* option from this list, and then switching back to "Store my layout on a per-monitor-config basis"? This should resolve changes in settings not saving. The version below should resolve the issue, inclu

Hi Scope40k, great minds think alike! 😆 Good news, this is in the next build. The team just happened to have this thought while using the nav - that it felt logical that if you’re bothering to right click and hit open, that you probably would like to open and not navigate, as you say. So we threw it in. No timeline right at this second, but I’d say probably something if not a beta within the next few weeks, I’m guessing we’ll ship early Dec as final pu

It does not. I’d check out Everything by Void Tools. But if you have a specific real scenario that involves your uses of Fences today, let us know and happy to discuss concepts for potential future feature ideas.

Hi, can you clarify the situation you’d like to use this search, with some specific scenario involving Fences? Thank you

Hi ejmdc, thank you for the detail! Great, a few followup question. - Would it bother you if OneDrive emitted notifications ("file changed") just like any other file, when the layout changed. I.e. if you move an icon in/out of a group, or move a group, if OneDrive notifications are enabled for you, you might see a few notifications like "Icons.cfg updated" in OneDrive. Or, would this be a deal-breaker annoyance for you. - Your desktop PC, is that a single monitor or mu

Hi Gbonne, good news! Not sure how you got into this state, but it seems like a setting "AdjustGroupsForResolution" in your settings got set to 0. You can resolve this by, on the layout tab, clicking one of the other options ("Preserve my layout...") and then going back to "Store my layout on a per-monitor-configuration basis". Change the setting, then you may need to log off and log back on, but after that, everything should work & save as expected. (If somehow not, please send a

Again big difference between doing the magic Peek functionality and bringing all groups to the top (and hiding loose icons) vs only bringing one to the top! Unfortunately one we were able to make happen and the other, not so much, even with all our tricks 🙃

Hi Paul, I work with the development team. Sadly, while we're continually trying to think of ways to make this possible, we haven't yet figured out a way to make this possible with the way things work. "Peek" is a pretty technically-magic piece of functionality to begin with, and to make it work – specifically, to bring the desktop surface above other apps the way it does – the program has to do some very fancy stuff. The desktop can only move as a s

Hi ejmdc, we'd love to learn more about what you need in a Sync feature. - Do you use OneDrive, or some other thing to sync desktop contents? - Are the monitor configurations different between the two devices? Can you share the monitor configuration for each machine so that we can ask a followup question here? - Are their any icon files located on the "Public" desktop of either machine, "%public%\Desktop"? Are the icons different between the two machines in that folder

Software requires maintenance. You’re asking for free updates for life. That is not a sustainable way to survive as a business. Often vendors that offer “lifetime free-update licenses” end up not updating their software, because the business did not work out and they were unable to continue. The subscription works out to about $0.83/month and in exchange you receive a program that continues to be enhanced and updated for the latest operating system.</p

This is intentional. If it did not do this the color would remain black. Adjusting the hue slider when brightness is zero will set brightness to 100%, so that the color responds to the adjusting of the hue slider, and it can be adjusted from there.

Games are a much different economic model. This is typically how desktop software works when you buy a specific version, and it’s why we recommend the subscription rather than a specific version. Would you like to transfer your license to a subscription with the first year free? This would effectively roll back time and give you subscription pricing from the go. The subscription nets out to 83 cents per month for a lifetime of new features and compatibility updates, sup

Hi jsimon669 thanks for much for your report and effort (and patience) here. The team has been able to pick the report apart, and thanks to your captures, they were able to find the tiny thing going wrong causing the big problem for you, and we think we have a resilient fix for this scenario. Stay tuned and we'll see if we can get out a patch for you to test.

Hi EarlStar. Fences 5 & 6 made significant improvements to how multi monitor situations were handled, and so snapshots were demoted to more of a backup functionality than intent for folks to make active use and switch between. If you have a specific scenario that you use it for today we’d be happy with to hear more about it for the team’s consideration for ongoing development, as we know not everyone has loved the feature now being a click away, and are looking for cre

Hi bden, Unfortunately there are a variety of compatibility problems with Windows 11 with v3 since 24H2. We unfortunately do not have support for v3 as it is very much out of date. A trial is available for new v6, which we've been releasing major versions of every year and a half or so to both introduce new abilities and to keep up to date with Windows changes. Hopefully you'll be able to take a look.

Hi John, following up on this, we got your report. It does look like it's configured correctly, and we do see the transformation appearing (apparently properly, but apparently not so) upon adding and removing of screens. Hoping to get some more info to get started. It looks like it's going from one screen at 2400x1600@200, to 3 screens [2560x1440@100][2400x1600@200][2560x1440@100], with "2560x1440@100" as the primary in the center,

@michaelm24393, question about your interest in sync. Per basj Fences can't sync files, but are you using OneDrive or Dropbox to sync your desktop? If so a few questions: * Are the contents of the desktop exact between the two machines? Or are there files in the public desktop folder (%public%\Desktop) that differ between the two, etc? * Are the monitor configurations identical between the machines? * If the monitor config is not exact between the two, what wou

Hi CzarnaMamba thanks for sharing this. The snapping feature snaps to all groups on the screen as to help with alignment even if they are spaced apart. I’ve forwarded to the team for consideration on how this could work better based on the specific example you’ve shown. In the video you shared, it is jumping to be in line with a fence that i
