Master modder H50 has said that being in the library just means that Stardock looked at them to make sure they work properly. It's not a guarantee that they will be compatible with the Metaverse. Especially not if you do multiple mods in the same game.

Yes, I remember someone saying it was deliberately done this way to cut down on save game size or something. To me the biggest influence bug is how you can give one influence point to an AI and expect to see an increase in relations. (More a diplomacy bug than an influence bug but I still wanted to put it somewhere Frogboy might notice).
Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Formerly from San Francisco (and with winter coming, I want to go back)!
Bigman, Stardock has some method (details unknown) by which it checks to see if the player is cheating, in which case it assigns anomalous scores. Unfortunately there seems to be some glitches in it where it assigns anomalous scores to legit games. It's probably nothing you did, and your next game will most likely be fine. If you really really want it fixed you could email CariElf and have her take a look at it.
I just don't see any causal relationship between cultural pressure and stripping
Are you saying you don't see a correlation? Or that you do see the correlation but you don't think it's causal? I have never invaded a planet and found it stripped. I've often had planets flip to me that were stripped. This to me indicates that we're seeing a response to cultural pressure... of course, whether it's an *intentional* response or a bug is unprovable, as you say.
Yeah, it's a programming convention return "0" to indicate that a program has terminated successfully. Not very useful for the non-geeks though. [Message Edited]
I used to get "game submitted succesfully" too. I think the X-pack is to blame.
Very nice. I think the strategy of colonizing sub-15 planets and giving them to the AIs you want to strengthen hasn't been seen on the board before. Very interesting!
Maybe all of us together can keep up with Cotal ;p
As Matthew Downie said, with the clarification that the "mining" bonuses relating to production only apply within the sector.
I'm thinking about maybe trying to revive the GOTM. Would any of you be interested? If so, any thoughts on what the GOTM should be like?
I didn't intend to imply that your post was unwelcome. Futile perhaps, but not unwelcome :D Stick around for a while--I think you'll change your mind about this community. Stardock does indeed listen to the people here, and many of the things which make the game you're playing now (Galciv 1.10) so good is the positive interaction between community and developer throughout the previous versions. Sure Stardock isn't perfect, but they're far better than most.
You have a medium normal submission in your profile for today. Is that the right game? The message you get for successful submission is something like "send status 1, error status 0."
Good job as always, Theoden. I feel your pain regarding work... it's an absolutely beatiful day out and I'm stuck here preparing a presentation :(
Sirian, I appreciate the effort put into this post. Your points are valid ones and many, if not all, the people on this board would agree with you. However, it's been debated to death already and the devs have said that changing the Metaverse is not a priority for them. Btw, if you are interested, it's probably not milking pop that led to the score increase. You get a bonus for trade goods/wonders built and for techs researched. There is some small pop score bonus too, but the
I think star influence is the total influence generated by all the planets orbitting that star.
I take it there is no other way than mining resources to gein empi-re wide bonuses? (I haven't got to know the technology tree yet -is there something there?)
Some Wonders, a couple trade goods, and a few technologies increase influence empire-wide. If you want to see a full tech tree, it's at webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell
I find military easiest and quickest on small maso maps and culture easiest on large maso maps.
Whoa, five posts in a row by actual Canadians. We've got to put a stop to this. ;) [Message Edited]
That's an interesting idea... thing is I would guess that most of these "questionable" tactics would have been adopted in a heartbeat by the civilization in earlier times, if they'd only thought of it. So I'm not sure that you can justify the proposition that using, say, nukes is a "break" with old social values when I would guess that, if they could somehow have asked the generals of fifty years earlier, those generals would have heartily agreed with the decision.
Flipping planets doesn't seem to take that long to me . . . I literaly have hundereds of constructors all ready to go buy the time I'm getting into the AIs territory.
Okay, you clearly have a much better computer than I do. You can destroy social projects in the "details" screen for the colony.
It's just a rare event. 20 games is probably unusual but not an outrageous length of time to go without seeing them.
Nope none of there planets had red face only crossbones. Its not one planet but 8 or ten.
Eradicus: have you *ever* seen a stripped planet that you took through military conquest, that wasn't previously under cultural pressure? I don't think I have. That seems to me to be strong evidence that the AI is doing this as a response to cultural pressure and not as a response to something like lack of funds.
I believe this is to quick for AI to destroy all improvements on most of their planets before I get them.
Why do you believe that? Stripping a planet can be done in one turn. Anyway, if you look closely you'll sometimes see the red sad face on planets that are under heavy cultural pressure, indicating that the AI has stripped the planet. You almost never see that on AI planets that aren't under cultural pressure.
I am expecting the stacked bonus to be fixed in an upcoming patch by limiting each planet to one bonus
Already done, according to CariElf.
I also dislike towards the end of a game when you are assured victory by bankrupting the ai,it will destroy everything on all its planets instead of disbanding some of its war vessels.Seems pretty stupid to destroy your economy by destroying all of its planetary improvements instead of reducing fleet size to help offset costs when there are only two or three civs left and all are allied
Actually, I'm pretty sure it only does that to planets that the AI thinks are about to
