When Frogboy suspected me of cheating, I sent him a masochistic tiny win. He submitted it, dunno why, but he hasnt beaten masochistic :)

games played before 1.04 were just reduced in score, not recalculated, 1.035 was cut in half, previous versions even more. New tiny/small games played ON 1.04 will score much better. I support the 3-1 ratio because there is no way with the square root function that someone playing pure tiny can easily pass someone who plays gigantic, and someone who plays gigantic can play tiny without hurting their score much. If the scores were purely add
As a gigantic map player, I support the 3-1 ratio, so no whining about map size from me. I am a tad concerned that its only a 6 to 1 ratio between masochistic and beginner though. So some small whining anyway :) I'll live though [Message Edited]
#114 CodeMonkey Omg, I agreed with everything you said, I think the world ends tomorrow :( Btw, one minor correction, you can culturally flip the last system of a major and get a military win. No need to do anything horrid like killing people :)
Wow, grats on win anyway Mark, can I ask what your population and what turn you finished the game on? Trying to get a feel for how games are being scored. And yea, seeing the AI have mostly 26 or better pq planets early on was somewhat intimidating. I had about 7 trillion in 2194 I believe in my gigantic maso. As far as buying starbases, I buy influence ones, which of course I guess is the biggest cheese, but I have never bot
1.04, one submit failed as galciv was down at the time. I resubmitted the same game later when galciv was up, worked fine. A 2nd game on 1.04 also was submitted with no problems.
Examples, fine "if someone's code stinks and I say so, they're going to get defensive no matter what." Exactly my point, perhaps you shouldnt use the word stinks? "So the other way around is to water down the message" No, its called not using offensive language, unless the point of the message is to be offensive? "but then the message is lost." Actually when you are offensive, that is the message, any other message you may intend
My tiny rare masochistic is with 5 incredibles. I did basicily follow the plan though of rushing two and the minors and then convinced one of the majors to take out the other two while i snuck in and took the systems, leaving me with just one major while I had the majority of the systems, just a matter of time and we were very 'close' friends. On my gigantic abudant, I did use two genius, but I may stop doing that cause at least in 1.04, they do seem
The skulls/crossbones confused many players(me included) That is just a warning, meaning the system failed a check against being converted. It never goes away. If it ever fails the check again, the system goes byebye. So long as you have more influence then anyone else in a sector, your system is totally safe. When ever you do not, you risk losing it, if you fail twice over any length of time, then the system rebels. This is not a bug.
The weapons graphics is unique for each ship and perhaps to some extent even to each empire. You do not acquire new graphic attacks with changing techs, the attacks merely become more powerful. All fights end in one shot, with about half the time the defending side firing back(depending on wether or not the defending side wins or does signifigant damage) That corvettes are killing rangers, thats very odd, but some suggestions would be to build ship
What do you mean unlimited population and free techs should be banned? If its a turn to finish game, then population is irrelevant and how do you get free techs?
Force, there is a difference between being honest and being brutal. And believe me, when you are being brutal, the only message your getting across is your feelings for the person your addressing. Why you feel that why will be competely lost as the person your addressing assumes a defensive stance against your personal attacks. I am a very honest and straight forward person, I have on occasion taken the road you now take, and I admit, it can feel g
Ive beaten masochistic through military conquest. Once using cultural flipping and once through actual pure military conquest. So no, its not only possible through cheese tech victory.
Well, it appears that military conquests scores signifigant points at any difficulty level. As the individual rankings are based on a quality over quantity, this wont effect the individual rankings to much, but this will have a pretty big effect on the team rankings. As they are based on just simple addition. Before my score was equal to about 100 begginers, now it will only be equal to about 5. As pre 1.04 games were not calculated using th
Im insignificant and irrelevant! I love you too codemonkey!
About the moo3 thing, for me the telling difference is that I havent posted or visited the moo3 forum in 2 months, much less played the game :) Of course I liked the 1.04 patch, so im not even one these people gripping about it.
Im all for it. Ill play whatever race or settings you pick.
My biggest issue with the leasing is that when purchasing large items, the terms for the lease extend to multiple lengths of game play. A game lasts 200 or so turns but you can see leases that dont expire for 1200 turns.
Ah what ever, i dont much care for how many games per how many monthes, its the idea thats important :)
10 best games in the last 3 months, I do believe rankings should be ranking only the active people, though of course when you look at an individual person you could track their 'highest rank/score'
The AI does and always has(well sense 1.035 when I started)buy tradegoods, just not with the cutthroat nature a human does. As for not being able to get tradegoods from the AI, I didnt use credits or tradegoods(cause tradegoods are worthless right), I used tech. And had no problems getting the tradegoods for a single semi decent tech. [Message Edited]
Hey force, no one said its cheating, it was just to easy, just like getting final frontier from the AI, when your missing everything else, is to easy. [Message Edited]
How can a calvin and hobbes fan not be in this empire :)
Intetionally break the game? All I did was aquire a tradegood and then tried to trade it with every empire, getting as much in return for my trade as I could. This is intuitive, if your not doing it, then thats a reflection of your lack of skill not of my lack of integrity.
Sorta did that in my post titled 'game story'
