Well, id save and exit out of the game before installing, but they say it should be able to load 1.03 save games.

Er, they are using a new scoring method and have updated everyones individual scores but not their overall scores. So until someone submits a game, their overall score will remain what it was before. As the new scoring method is giving out less then half the points then it was before, this is causing people who submit games to effectively drop in rank quite abit. This should only be a temporary issue.
Speed is totally neccesary in a gigantic, very nice in large and progressively less interesting as you get into smaller(or less abundant) maps. And its all about the early expansion, once the expansion is over, the speed bonus isnt that useful anymore.
Yea, im in the same boat, dropped from 2nd to 21 :) but its worth it in the long run, no doubt.
Frog deleted my lose :) Did have the side effect of updating my scores to the new system So until everyone else is updated im not as effective in taking over the universe for G.R.O.S.S. [Message Edited]
wow, reduced a lot, even 1.035 scores were cut in half. I wonder why my tiny masochostic win was also cut in half, I thought difficulty was to be a bigger factor. 102 points for beating 5 incredable AI's on a tiny rare map, heh, some people have more points for losing games on a begginer level.
I will of course update my version as soon as I get home. Though I wonder if I should submit any game until after they update everyones overall score.
You still need a transport and the troops you have are still the biggest factor in determing success or failure.
Individual game scores got changed dramatically. But overall scores have not been updated yet. I recalced the current top 10 to this(im bored at school between classes) RayChua: 6980.557 Staffa: 11567.57 Cataleptic: 5873.767 Ralph Crosswhite: 4362.266 jtomicic: 6030.235 Sergey Pakhomav: 8923.09 irritable_rabbit: 4538.565 Steve Sitkiewitz: 3654.841 Fifth: 4921.5 Corpnicus: 4023.432 Obviously they went down alot, specially the
Unless your a computer player, in which case this seems to happen all the time, I have never seen it happen.

Actually bombadier ships will probably make the AI tougher as currently one if its big problems is facing a human with a massively larger population. If it could just bomb that population into exctinction rather then trying to use its own pitiful population to capture mine, well, that doesnt work. Had a game where the AI had 10 times my fleet, declared war, took out lots of starbases of mine, took 2 systems but once starbases were gone and my fleet was
Why do you confuse interconnected polis with identical polis? He didnt say they were all the same, he said they were all connected to each other.
Im not one to get in a pissing contest on honesty but I resent that you claim to be more honest then I :)
Yea, I also frequently see races not moving ships during war when there is some juicy targets for them right next to some big ships.
Hey CodeMonkey, why would u care if someone wanted to retroactively tailor their score? It has no effect on your scores. I thought you were all about making things nicer for the players, exactly how is this making this harder for anyone? So what, you dont care about the rankings anyway right? So why do you have such a strong opinion about it.
another concern i have is how it would handle crashes?
make sure u set ur government spending to 100% at the start of the game. You should do this regardless of what map/abudance u choose. Set up trade routes with the computers, this makes them happy Trade stuff with them, this makes you happy Most other suggestions would depend on settings.
ironman being no reloading? that would be cool if it could be done without getting around it.
Sorry, nm [Message Edited]
Wow, you can take a totally valid reasoning on why removing scores should be allowed and twist it into a reason why it shouldnt be allowed. In discussion the fact that it was a choice to submit to begin with was one of the biggest reasons why being able to remove it was a good idea.
I like and agree with all your points Alexti :) Though I think on the first point, your agreeing with me :)
Post 1, Problem 2 outlines the trading of tradegoods as being overpowered.
This would be very interesting though I worry about the seriel number being part of the saved game and what this means for possible pirating. You might look into how to make saved games safe to share.
I wouldnt think so, that does sound odd to have your diplomat insult the leader of a race you dont have contact with :)
