Gerakken, I find there are certain points in the game where my civ simply explodes culturally. Most notable is when cultural exchange centers become available. In my last game, I cranked up the social production to build one on every planet and in a short span the influence structure of the entire map (medium size) was realigned. It would be fun to try a cultural victory on a huge map. I've only played medium, but I could see where different techniques would be required. I've been working on

Building Entertainment Networks to keep people happy and News networks to increase cultural resistance would be a start. It could be you are being destabilized by someone. That might show up if you use espionage, but I'm not sure. You can pump money directly into planets for an emergency, but that is no long-term solution. What is morale like? Don't forget there is a button at the top of the screen that tells you the relative influence of each race in the sector. I didn't no

Not certain what economy boost you are talking about. What kind of victory are you usually aiming for? For instance, I tend to play for cultural wins so focus on diplomacy and build few/any warships. You know there is a slider that controls goverment spending, yes? It is right below the tax slider. You can have a mothly deficit, but be careful not to drain your treasury. I'm still a newb, but have finished two medium galaxies and have yet to go negative. I'm close

I haven't played 1.05 a *lot*, but no major issues, esp once the update to .071 resolved the scoring oddity some of us had. I had a few things that might have resulted from a game started with 1.04. I have a new game started, but may not be able to play much in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the continued hard work.

Run Stardock Central. Click the button that says software (kind of tough to spot at first on the upper left). A list of components will come up. One of these will be the main gal civ. Click on that line and an update button will appear. Click.

He's entitled to his opinion, but doesn't have to be a jerk about it. Oh wait, I get it! He's role-playing the Drengin empire *smacks forehead* CM, on the ships I do believe he meant one should be able to upgrade ship type X to ship type Y (with a shipyard) faster than one could build Ship type Y from scratch. Not certain I agree, but I believe that is what he meant.

I think it may be possible your taxes are *too* low early. I understand you want to keep morale at 100 on Earth at the start, but don't set them any lower than you have too, and don't be afraid to let morale drop after the start. Here's why: Morale drop is more or less inevitable. As population on a given planet increases, morale decreases. If you lower the tax rate, morale rises, but this leads to increased population, and---wait for it---lower morale! See what I'm sayi

I thought this was just me....I usually browse the forums with Safari and i hadn't noticed it happening to anyone else. I also have an issue where I reload threads and instead of loading then stopping, it continues to reload over and over. Maybe that one is browser specific...
