it would be much easier if the arceans just simply used the "make peace with..." option. if only they said "i will give you 500 BC if you will promise to make peace with our allies, the YOR", instead of wageing a loosing battle against me. the "make peace with..." option is already in the diplomacy screen, but it appears that none of the AI's have been programmed to use it.

you can get all the techs, money and influence from them if they want to surrender even before you fight them -which is kinda cheesey. thats what happened to me, they declared war on me like 10 turns in a row, by the time i finished off the last yor, i had all the arceans techs, influence, and money.

stick with a medium map on the easiest difficulty -small and tiny are too unforgiving if you make a mistake, and the large and gigantic would make things too hard to keep track of if you are new. at the beginning, colonize any planet with 15+ quality that you can get. dont worry about building any military ships -no one will attack you for quite a few turns. when the other AI's start harasing you by asking for money or whatnot, then start building your warships. you dont want your re

same thing happened with me, except that i declared war on the Yor. The arceans didnt stop bothering me till i took over the last Yor planet -and also, i didnt have to kill a single arcean ship, they wanted out of the war they declared with me even before i attacked any of their ships since i was so much more powerfull then them. i see what you mean, they need to put in a "make peace with..." option for the AI. it would have made much more sense if the Arceans bribed us to make peace

one thing i dont like is that when you trade a tech to a major, they dont give you too much money for it, BUT when you try to buy a tech off of them, they are asking for huge ammounts of money! (by they way, i always make sure that im the one with diplomatic translators, but they dont seem to help too much)

one thing i noticed is that it is pretty hard to get allies on neutral, even if you are doing a lot of trade. i was always expecting that maybe the Arceans would want to ally with me due to our same allignment, but that wasnt so. it seems that whenever i play neutral, it is easier to get the torians and the drengins to ally with me then it is for the arceans to ally with me.

yea, but remember that terrorstar bug. my last game i had a terrorstar that could move 8 spaces in a turn, due to that bug. my terrorstar was actually faster then my constructors since they could only move 6 spaces :D i really hope they dont fix that bug

well, there is always the credit card info. if you paid online, then you probably paid with cedit card, and with a credit card, you have can have a detailed history of what you paid for with it by just calling your creditcard company up. and with that information, you can then approach stardock that you paid for the game, and that you didnt recieve your CD.

i like to win culturally, building lots of culturally maxed starbases tend to result in a pretty easy victory. the tech victory wasnt too difficult for me. i actually made myself reasearch everything in the tech tree before i finished researching the "final frontier". i only wish i submitted that game after i upgraded to version 1.05. i just submited an old game on a large map with simple difficulty that i never bothered finishing till today. i got a 6000 score on it, even though
