where do i find the debug.err file? im running windows 2000 pro. just installed 1.04a through stardock central. game keeps crashing to desktop without any error window or anything. this happens right after i try loading a saved game or starting a new game -happens right after the window reaches "100%" loaded.
I just updated to 1.04a throught Stardock Central, and i cant play my galciv anymore (:( i can go to the main menu, i can go to select new game, and adjust my galaxy size and stuff, but when i click done, it loads to 100%, and then crashes to desktop with no error windows or anything. samething happens when i try to load a saved game, it reaches 100%, and then it crashes to desktop, with no error window or anything. anyone else have this problem? by they way, i have wi
i would still submit your scores, its kinda nice to see your name on a list on the internet. best way is to start an empire on the metaverse. that way you can actually see yourself on a list remotely near the top. my empire (as of right now as i type) is in the 99th spot, but my position as a player is probably more like 9000 (im just guessing this number), even though im the only person in my empire.
i like that idea, adding a party palace to a terror star and sending it on a slow cruise :D i never thought of that, i will have to try that. kinda funny combo, death machine and a party palace, makes me laugh just by thinking of it, sounds like something out of LEXX
me three, i like the former number 1 medal thing, i remember i thinking of that after i seen someone post a message of how the made it to number 1 spot, and when i checked the metaverse, they no longer was #1 anymore, and that he should get some sort of recognition that he once made it to first place. schools out in 2 days?! some of these scores are just going to climb way high. maybe they should make all students work during their summers full time in a crappy packaging plant :D ..
also, on tiny, if a minor appears after you have transports available to you, invade them right away. if you can get to them even before they build a ship you are very luck, means you will get an extra 15+ quality planet, with a realativly small population. this happend to my game, a minor appeared right beside one of my 2 major starsystems. i took over that minor in the same month they appeared!
i tried putting a ring of 8 corvettes around a planet to keep the freighters from reaching the planet, it did keep the freighters from reaching the planet, but i found all my ships and starbases started getting damage dealt to them? is this supposed to happen? ~SDC~
im working on a tiny right now, however not at any big difficulty levels. one thing i noticed with tiny maps and rare habitible planets, is to get on good terms with the minors. with rare planets, the majors will only be able to scoop up maybe 2 planets at the most (including you), so no one will have much money to afford a lot of ships, and also no one will have a lot of reasearch power. i get almost all of my money from selling all of my techs to everyone, and that brings in just enough cas
i thought that space empires 3 was good, that game was responsible for making me like space oriented turn based strategy games. the only thing i didnt like about it was that it was impossible to remain allies with the other players, unlike galciv. ~SDC~

one more thing, it would be neat if ships could get hijacked, and if you want your ship back, you have to pay the ransom. ~SDC~
whats "space sharks"? are they a minor? or are they kinda like the event where some prisoners escape from a planet and take over some transport ships? ~SDC~
i know i will never make it anywhere near first place, but they should add a medal for anyone who has made it to first place, even if it was for like only 5 minutes. ~SDC~
one more thing, the thing that i do like about blizzard is their battle.net, i like it that you dont have to pay for a membership to play other people. they also did a pretty good job setting it up to, the only thing i would change about battle.net is to have a special world built just for tradeing, it does get kinda anoying standing in the chat repeating "got isenhart's sword, will trade for..." ~SDC~
i actually bought galciv because i was getting bored of D2, and i was craving for a good turn based strategy. the thing i hate about blizzard is the expansion pack thing they do with all their games, D2 was actually easier before the expansion pack, and when the expansion pack for D2 was up for sale, they added a patch for the non-expansion pack D2, making it harder. i remember being able to kill Diablo without having to run around dodging his fire and lightning attacks, and when the patch cam
i find it a problem too. what i use is the "show autopilot" option on the minimap, which at least gives me an idea how many ships i have on the way to the battle scene. it doesnt help too much, but it does kinda give me an idea when reinforcements will arive, and from where they are coming from. i still have trouble keeping track of all the ships however. ~SDC~

ok, my empire doesnt have the players or the score to be of anything much, but i will allow anyone who joins my empire to enter their own logo motto for 1 week, cycling through all of the total memebers in my empire. so if one other person joins, they will be able to submit there own logo and motto for one week, then it will be my week, and then theirs again. why not join an independent? I dont care what your score is, even if you manage to get a negative score somehow, i will still allow anyone in my empire -and i will never delete them. A sun god is better. Can anyone from G.R.O.S.S. say they had victims sacrificed to them? I had thousands of victims who had an obsidian blade thrust into their heart for me :HOT: ~SDC~
Im doing pretty good so far in my game, however i want to win by military victory, not cultural. It already says im 89% of the way done to win a cultural victory, but i dont want to win by cultural victory. Is it already too late to turn cultural victory off? ~SDC~
