Actually he spelled out in the first paragraph of his "stamp of approval" what exactly he preferred about GW's style over yours, LW. Greywar may have covered the same ground, but he stepped a lot more lightly and avoided peoples' toes. And as I mentioned in some other thread, I have to agree with Mugz in that your writing style is much blunter. (Your suggested word, though I still think "confrontational" is at least as appropriate.) You don

Feature request for the Forums home page: a time stamp. Yes, I know people access the site from all time zones, but it would be helpful to know that "last post 0 hr, 12 min ago" was only current as of half an hour ago according to the time stamp. Since I use the back button to navigate between topics, the Forums home page stays cached until I manually refresh it. Would be nice to know how long it's been since I refreshed.

I am completely left-bodied. Handed, eyed, footed, legged, etc. Probably left-kidneyed and left-lunged, too. My voice, when I hear it played back, sounds deeper, hollower, and much more monotonic than it does when I am speaking it. I will occasionally (but more frequently than most people) commingle words when I speak, things like "That's gine", because I got caught between "that's good" and "that

near sighted by choice An interesting analogy... In fact, I am nearsighted by choice. It was not a conscious choice, made once and ready to be unmade at any time, but an unforeseen or underestimated consequence of a long series of choices. I was not nearsighted when I was born. I had perfectly g

Actually, I need to re-state my opinion. I do not believe that sexual orientation is determined at the time of birth by your genetic structure. So in that regard, Captain and Carebear, I agree with you. Where I differ from you is in your apparent belief (and I say "apparent" because I'm not going to go back and look for exact quotes) that being gay, or giving up gayness, is a conscious choice. There are many genetic factors that may predisp

Well if it's mine and Capt.'s OPINION to think that people are not born gay. Then it makes it your OPINION that you think people are born gay, right? Yes, that is my opinion. But please don't bother trying to claim that any opinion is just as good as any other. An opinion is only as good as the

That was exactly what I said, for fun. Where I go out to eat is entirely up to me. How much fun can it be knowing that when you leave, you are creating disappointment and disillusionment in your wake? Of course where you go is up to you. You could go someplace you can't afford at all, and skip out

Although this is just a leadup to your main point, I think it's important. Since you accused me of coming here only to read agreement with my side (the day after Kerry's acceptance speech), I realized that, in a way, you were exactly wrong -- although your underlying point was correct. In truth, I was coming here for badly stated

Many of us do not like to have our little worlds disturbed by people who think differently than we do. When they dare to point out what they see as glaring errors in our thinking, we are up in arms, ready to defend our position with emotional outbursts of rage, name calling, putdowns, and/or ridicule, just to name a few reactions

I am a Beatles fan, and while I am tempted to make a snide remark about the non-existence of "good metallica" just because they're in the same article as the Beatles, I actually have enjoyed a fair bit of their older stuff. And I am a big fan of Weird Al-style twistings of things. The song titles alone look worth the price of entry. I'll definitely be checking them out.

So, having hormones is a sin? Can I get an A-men? I'll be generous and assume you're not purposely misunderstanding me here. Having hormones is not a sin. Having lustful thoughts, desires, or deeds is a sin. Those things are generally caused by hormones. If you eliminate the source of the hormones,

There are many ways to judge people. One common way is by the company they keep and the friends they have. Hanging out with and supporting someone who creates fictional dramas will tend to get you tarred with the same brush used for them. At the least, many people will read your stuff with a more skeptical eye because you were "involved" somehow, even if only peripherally and by association, with that other person's activities. I don't

I can't seem to find a choice other than homosexuality besides heterosexuality, except for bisexuality, which I accept is an option they would choose if they could. Perhaps you're not trying hard enough. Bestiality, necrophilia, pederasty, autoeroticism, an

Now, to take actual issue with your point, you have to realize that there is a difference between changing your behavior and changing your being. If today I declare that I like cerulean best, and tomorrow I decide I like obsidian best, am I really just a closet cerulean lover who is suppressing my instincts? No, I have changed my mind. I have found a new reason to prefer something else over my previous choice. On the other hand, if today I dr

So, what you're saying is that if a satan worshiper becomes born again christian he/she is still a satan worshiper, just not practicing it anymore? Well, thanks Dr. Cracker. So, (a), you believe that homosexuals are equivalent to satan-worshipers, and (b) you've devolved to name-calling. Way to go

So are you going to just wait to pray untill you go to bed or until you go to church on Sunday? It might be too late. </TAB
