After reading that you can get Moo3 for free from Amazon yesterday, I was thinking about if I should get it in spite of all the bad stuff I've read about it. Tonight I dreamed that I had it and was playing it for the first time. I remember that in my dream, I really liked the different aliens, but wasn't able to finde the screen where I could build colony ships and I woke up quite confused. LOL

I name my systems after friends of mine - Sol is always renamend after my girlfriend (NO, not CariElf, my REAL girlfriend ;) ) I always choose names that somehow make sense for me: For example, a system at the border to the Drengin Empire is named after a particular choleric friend, or three systems in one sector are named after three guys who share a flat. Furthermore, I always change the spelling in a way that shows how many colonized planets the system contains, for exam

It's hard to admit that, but imho thr most important sentence of this thread was said by a GROSS-guy (Pontius):
We must Get it out of our heads that this metaverse is ever going to truly reflect skill.
That is the short version of what I have to say. You really can stop reading now, but I will say some more stuff anyway. All the data the Metaverse-score is based on is just NUMBERS - PQ, Pop, year of victory etc. What it doesn't get is data like "H
Do you not recall that CariElf claimed that she didn't like evil? That she preferred healers in RPGs? That she never plays the bad side? Do you think your VIOLENCE tactics are going to IMPRESS her?
I've been thinking about that a lot. Look at the face beneath this posting: It says I'm chaotic-evil. Just yesterday, I enslaved the population of the Kaiki-system and sold virtual-reality-modules to underage-Tolarians. I thought this makes my position in this club a risky o

You're right - even without isolated systems, revolting prisoners and alike, the Yor are the weakest and most passive of all AIs. Which is a pitty, because I like the desgin and idea of this race. :(

Okay... new game... let's see... giant, tight clusters, crippling... ah, I'll try random alignments, makes it more interesting... so, here we go. *some twenty minutes later* Okay, the Altarians are my neighbours... and there are the Drenging in the next cluster.. ah, together with the Arceans... and I see something green in the upper left... guess the Yor are in the upper right corner, then. *sends a scout to a isolated system in the right bottom* Oh m

Okay, I've sen for weeks now how gamers and developers alike wasted their time and brain cells about the metaverse scoring problem. It is my strong believe that is as almost impossible to find a solution that is fair - their are so many different factors involved that determine how hard a game is - obvioues ones like AI level and obscure ones like starting positions and random events. If you try to take everything in account, and then try to make it save against cheesy scoring ta

Wow, coding with smiley - now that's whatb I call innoative! Hm, I think I give it a try, too.... here is the secret revealed... the code on which my brain operates: if (!workToDo) playGalCiv(); else { work.setPriority(0); playGalCiv(); } while (playGalCiv) { if (bug) setMood(:SURPRISED: ); else { if (AI.IQ > YellowSign.IQ) setMood(:sniff!: ); else setMood(:D

Ehm, I actually wrote about this in my example there: ;)
2nd, your relation improves and when the Torians finally are beaten, they may surrender to you.
I was thinking about some strange ways to win and wanted to know if anybody actually ever managed to archieve one of them: 1. An alliance-victory where ALL 6 Major race were allied. 2. Winning with never owning more than a single star-system on a medium or bigger map. 3. Winning without ever meeting the other races. (Via tech victory in an isolated cluster on a gigantic map.) I think most of these ae impossible.... or aren't they?

When two AIs go to war and your at peace with both of them, send constructors to important starbases of both races. When they are blown up, build an own starbase there and sell it back to the AI for a good price. ;p (Works, but most time it makes more sense to keep the bases for yourself, thou.) [Message Edited]

I started a game today with +50% diplomacy on "painful".... yeah, this is fun. :) Frogboy & co: It's very well playable as it is, but don't make trading any easier or diplomacy further more powerful - the way it is now is quite good, but anything beyond would make it to easy.
