thanx frogboy. i think it might be a bit funny, i saw an Altarian Flagship very early on that was 2Beam/2Missile/2Mass and 2Armour/2Shield/2Chaff and i was still making musket balls.......

yep in fullscreen. i think someone else reports mouse driver problems, and perhaps this is related to that?
i've had this too, though the most common is a race placed directly on top of another race. There also seems to be 'start-up' races that i've had no 'meeting 'n greeting message' from.......
I've only had a quick run, but I've noticed that the AI can produce tiny/small ships with say 1Beam/1 Shield/1 Armour, and I can't physically reproduce that type of ship with the tech I've researched, because my stuff is simply too large (eg Stingers are Size 16, Armour Size 10, Deflectors Size 11). i've tried to research miniature techs to see if i can produce a tiny/small fighter, but can't. is it just me? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/smiles
i've had intermittent problems with scrolling when putting the mouse pointer to the edge. first time it just worked in two directions (and there were other performance issues). last time everything was cool.
i've had this too. if you lock a slider at x%, the other 2 ignore the x% and divvy up the total resources between them. i've also managed to produce a -12345678 type on divide 0 thing here, but managed to get rid of it by reseting all the sliders
i think it depends of the relationships (whether friendly, hostile etc) and the alignment (good, evil etc). the surrender message usually implies why they surrendered to a particular race (eg we thwart your goal of galactic domination by surrendering to someone else) :)
hi ceetee1 - morale is a function of planet quality/population/taxation so 1. increase Planet Quality 2. move people offworld 3. build morale boosters (eg entertainment centre) 4. research morale boosting techs 5. mine a morale resource 6. reduce taxation i'm sure there's more, but my brain az gone funny :)
yep, i can't remeber how it's reproduced, but it has something to do with 'buying'
jmgarth, u need to click the research button (which puts the reseach tech up in the queue at the top) before it'll be researched. took me a while to work ot out to. frogboy has stated it will be fixed into something more intuitive
clink clink *purr* hi cari.... your luis bunuel surrealist vodka martini beckons
I'd like to blame it on SP2, but I don't think that'd get me very far. i'm doomed then thanx for the heads up though, jmgarth. so it might be a .net problem then? i'm very interested in this dll problem though. any chance of keeping
there seems to be a fair bit of this going on (just check the GC1 forum) and i'm stumped meself. my only weird thing to date has been Medieval Total War crashing on the latest intel drivers, with the advise to roll the drivers back to an earlier version, and sundry other things like upgrading Media Player to version 10. don't know whether there's some problems with DirectX 9c and backwards compatibility, but something *strange* does seem to be going on.... <img src="http://images.stard
If John learns to ride a bike, does that mean Bob must also know how to ride a bike? sorry draginol, was that aimed at me? i'm not a fan of the Law of Causative Formation (it has interesting aspects, but is inelegant and 'morphic resonance' doesn't do it for me) - I was just being ironic. Pers

that's weird. it was only this satuday night that i entered into me 'too much red wine and isn't it weird why matter attracts perplexing dinner part guests who now think i'm a bit weird' zone. must be the the Law of Causative Formation
i don't get what you're asking. is this about mods?
i'm confusing myself here - the 845g chipset has embedded intel graphics, but you also have an ATI mobility? is that right?
debug.err is generated automatically by windows. the smartexception file (its name escapes me) is generated by stardock's prog. you have to have smarteception running to generate this file both files are useful to stardock for tracking down probs. :) you can read the debug.err file in notepad or wordpad (it's a text file) [Message Edited]
i believe there are probs with custom maps (also if you are on an enormous map, the game can slow down). see if you can start a normal game. are you getting a debug.err file after the CTD? you really shouldn't be having any probs with that system, unless the new video drivers have caused a prob (as an example i recently upgraded to the latest drivers and now can't play medievel total war). if you have a debug.err file send it to stardock support, they're very helpful. (there's also a prog called
any more details? what version do you have currently? what is the specific error message?

yes, an increase in your abilities will be automatic (eg +10 to attack or defence will be effective immediately). no docking needs to be done :)
